Chapter 4 of xx, enjoy!

Soaring Dragon Continent, Black Tortoise Forest

A voice called out to Qiu Zhen, but it wasn’t an external voice, it came from something inside him. This voice was different than the Dragon of Life’s. It seemed to have a tone as if it dominated over others.

“I can’t believe that a weakling such as yourself was the one who found the Five Sky Turning Dragon pendant. Hpmh! To think for us not to die, I’ll have to lend you my power so you should be grateful!”

Qiu Zhen’s back felt hot. The tribal symbols on his back started glowing bright red. His body started aching all over and it felt as if his organs had shattered. He dropped down to the ground and cried out in pain, blood leaked out of his mouth.

The baby monkey didn’t know what was going on when it suddenly felt a dreadful aura come from Qiu Zhen. It hopped off his head and hid behind a tree, staring at him. It seemed like Qiu Zhen was changing.

It was ten breaths of intense pain but Qiu Zhen lived through it. While his body was in pain, it actually caused his injuries to heal up, closing the wound almost entirely. The bright red light that came from the tribal symbols died down, turning back into the normal red tattoo.

Qiu Zhen got up and stretched his body, trying to see if anything was different but he felt no changes. When the Dragon of Life woke up he could tell that his cells’ healing properties had increased dramatically but he didn’t feel anything different now. If Qiu Zhen looked in the mirror, he would be able to tell that he had another tattoo on his body. It was the face of a dragon with three eyes. Each eye was closed, but the dragon itself looked angry and it seemed like it would destroy the world if it could.

“Hpmh! So this is who i’m stuck with until I get reborn. Kid you better not die.”

“Many thanks senior….?”

“I’m the Dragon of Rage and Fury! What I’ve given you is something that you can activate when needed, however the backlash is many times more painful. If I were you, I would only open the first eye. Only if you’re at the Immortal realm should you even think of opening the second eye.”

“What eye?”

“On your back is a tattoo of our ancestor, a mighty being who could blow this continent off the face of this earth. If you open one of his eyes, you’ll unlock a part of his power. Each eye will increase your cultivation by one level but at your level you couldn’t even hold out on the first eye for more than five breaths! Along with each eye opening, your strength will increase and all techniques you know won’t cost any qi energy. However you won’t be able to use any qi afterwards, nor will you be able to walk. If you even think of opening another eye before you’re ready, your body will break down.”

“Many thanks senior, Qiu Zhen will be sure to remember.”

“Hpmh, you didn’t even let me finish! If you open the first eye, the abilities of each one of us will increase and all of your techniques will unleash their full potential. Also when he wakes up, you’ll have a better chance at survival.”

“Also be sure to claim that treasure as your own, the effects it’ll give before it awakens are huge.”

After saying that, no other voice came out, the Dragon of Rage and Fury’s soul went next to the Dragon of Life’s. Qiu Zhen wondered when all five of them would awaken, but he could only wait. ‘Wonder what the other’s are like.’

The Dragon of Life and the Dragon of Rage and Fury seemed totally different. You had to wonder how the Dragon of Life even communicated with the other one. When the Dragon of Rage and Fury spoke it gave this feeling as if you were talking to a tyrant. Qiu Zhen was somewhat glad that these beings weren’t in the world anymore. At least physically.

Opening the first eye would allow Qiu Zhen to reach the eighth Dao realm but that still wasn’t enough to face those three men after him. Now that his wounds were almost healed, Qiu Zhen dashed off back to where the Demon Ape King was. As long as those three followed him, they would have to face the Demon Ape King first, because that thing seemed to enjoy killing things it found somewhat strong.

The baby monkey felt that the danger was gone and hopped back onto Qiu hen’s head. Qiu Zhen didn’t even bother with it anymore as it would only cause him a headache if he worry about such a thing. If Qiu Zhen knew what the baby monkey was doing he surely would want to kill it. It was laying on his head, trying to go to sleep. Drool was coming out of its mouth, sliding down onto Qiu Zhen’s hair.

Gan Fang was finally close to where they first met the Demon Ape King. He only needed to go past that area and he was sure that a stronger demon beast would appear. Behind him was the Demon Ape King whose eyes were bloodshot red. More of its fur was burnt while some was sticking up straight. It seemed that Gan Fang had used more talismans on it, which made it even more angry.

Within his eyes was a field full of corpse. These were of course the inner disciples who died in the hands of the Demon Ape King. The stench of blood was so strong that it was almost overwhelming but Gan Fang continued on.

Swosh!

The Demon Ape King appeared right in front of him, but how can this be? Throughout the whole time, he was fleeing and even when he fought the beast, his speed had always been faster. The Demon Ape King seemed huge in front of his eyes and its aura was overwhelming.

“You think i’m playing here!?”

The Demon Ape King roared.

Gan Fang was shocked, the beast could actually speak in human tongue. A creature that could do that would never have the strength at the Mystical realm. Gan Fang knew that this Demon Ape King’s strength surpassed what it actually showed. This was not something that he could fight alone, even if he had some core disciples with him to fight against it. They still wouldn’t be enough.

It swung its arm down, grabbing onto Gan Fang. Its speed almost tripled. Gan Fang had no way to dodge. He knew that his fate was now up.

“Hehe fucking bastard actually survived. This time i’ll make sure to finish the job!”

The three men who were looking for Qiu Zhen finally found him, but they also found a field full of corpses. These men weren’t distracted by the smell because to them, this was a regular occurrence.

Their bodies sped up, while they chased after Qiu Zhen. This time, there was no escape.

The baby monkey who was dozing off woke up when it felt the presence of those three men. It looked far in the distance and saw that those three men were closing in on them.”Eeek!”

Qiu Zhen couldn’t feel their pressure but since the baby monkey was startled, he assumed that they finally caught up to him. ‘Seems like you’re good for something.’ Qiu Zhen glanced over his shoulder to see how far away they were, then he looked around for the Demon Ape King. However it was nowhere to be found.

“Damnit you fucking beast, why couldn’t you stay put!?”

Qiu Zhen couldn’t find the beast but he also wasn’t going to confront those three right now either. Instead, he kept moving forward. He didn’t know that he was headed in the same direction as the Demon Ape King and Gan Fang, but if he knew he would be elated.

In the span of ten breaths, he finally found the Demon Ape King but he also spotted it grabbing Gan Fang. Qiu Zhen couldn’t let Gan Fang die. if it was anyone else he wouldn’t care, but Gan Fang was cool and Qiu Zhen could talk to him as an equal. Sure, Gan Fang didn’t talk much about his clan, but he was someone you could easily talk to.

“Hey you stupid ape, I bet this little guy can beat you! He isn’t even a demon beast, but he could still kick your ass!”

The Demon Ape King turned its head and spotted Qiu Zhen. It didn’t even bother to pay him much attention before because his cultivation was low. However, the thing on Qiu Zhen’s head was what caught its eye.

“Brother Qiu Zhen, this isn’t a normal demon beast! You can’t fight it!” Gan Fang yelled at Qiu Zhen as he found this opportunity to escape.

The Demon Ape King didn’t even care about Gan Fang anymore, its eyes were glued on the baby monkey. “Hehehe, I thought you wouldn’t appear anymore. Who would have thought that I would have another chance.”

Qiu Zhen was stunned, the Demon Ape King could actually talk. The baby monkey on Qiu Zhen’s body hid behind Qiu Zhen’s back. It seemed like it didn’t want the Demon Ape King to spot it.

Those three men who were chasing after Qiu Zhen also stopped when they heard the Demon Ape King talk. If a demon beast could speak, it was rare for it to be at the Mystical realm, and if they could capture such a beast, it could be sold for a fortune.

“Change of plan, we’ll capture that ape first. Since it can talk, those damn clans and nobles would pay a fortune for it!”

“Haha, brothers we’ve struck gold! This ape should have stayed hidden. To think that it is only at the Mystical realm yet it dares appear in front of us!”

“Right, you two handle that beast, I’ll get the brat.”

Gan Fang caught up to Qiu Zhen. However his gaze went directly to those three men in all black. The one in the front approached Qiu Zhen, but Qiu Zhen dodged while Gan Fang hit him in the face.

“You dare harm my brother!?” Gan Fang yelled.

The other to men didn’t pay Qiu Zhen or Gan Fang any mind, they knew that their brother would be able to handle the situation.

When Gan Fang probed the man for his cultivation, he was only a middle Mystical realm cultivator. Gan Fang couldn’t defeat him, but he could hang on until the Demon Ape King finished those two.

Those two thought that they could capture a demon beast that could speak. What kind of nonsense was that? There had never been a demon beast speaking while only at the Mystical realm. Therefore, the only conclusion was that it wasn’t. If such a being really did exist then it would have been hunted down before.

Qiu Zhen glared at the man in front of him, his eyes turned cold. Now that Gan Fang was with him, Qiu Zhen felt that he had a chance at killing this assassin. His killing intent rose while he infused his hands with qi.

Qiu Zhen’s voice was cold, “Die!” Boom!

Qiu Zhen darted at the man, his palms struck him and exploded. The flames on his palms were burning, but the man blocked it with his dagger. He swung it at Qiu Zhen, however it collided with Gan Fangs sword. Boom!

Gan Fang was thrown backwards while Qiu Zhen appeared next to him. The assassin took out another dagger. His body flashed, turning into two figures, one approaching Qiu Zhen the other towards Gan Fang.

Boom!

The assassin moved fast. He was as agile as a bird. His daggers struck against Gan Fang’s sword then he suddenly disappeared and kicked Gan Fang in the back. Gan Fang flew forward while his sword was dropped out of his hand. The assassin’s other figure that was approaching Qiu Zhen wasn’t even real. It disappeared after Qiu Zhen hit it.

“Damn you!” Qiu Zhen yelled.

His body flashed and Qiu Zhen picked up Gan Fang’s sword. ‘No choice!’ His body felt like it was filled to the brim with energy. His meridians were constantly being flushed with qi and his body felt stronger. Qiu Zhen opened the first eye of the dragon, the left eye opened and it’s eyes glowed red. Qiu Zhen’s aura seemed to change, his body turned slightly red.

The sword in Qiu Zhen’s hand that was originally green turned pure black. ‘This is it!’ The qi that Qiu Zhen infused in the sword was not normal, instead it was sword qi. Qiu Zhen hasn’t even woken normal sword qi yet but he knew what this was. The feeling it was giving off was something else. Demon Sword qi!

His body flashed, leaving only a blur behind and it was only a shaky afterimage. His profound energy rose from the seventh Dao realm to the eighth! The assassin seemed to notice his sudden increase in speed, but he was still faster.

First breath, Qiu Zhen and the assassin collided. Boom!

The strength behind his blow was something else, it didn’t match that of a person who had the cultivation at the eighth Dao realm. It seemed like he had the strength of something else. Even after that blow, his energy didn’t fade away. The assassin slid back a few feet, but Qiu Zhen didn’t let him to catch his breath.

Second breath, Boom!

Qiu Zhen’s dashed at the assassin once again and he felt it. He could win. Qiu Zhen spent around bringing the sword with him, allowing the force to gather. Once again the assassin blocked the attack but this time he was blown back one meter. It seemed that Qiu Zhen was getting even more powerful as time went on.

“Tsk! I don’t know where you got the sudden increase in power, but it won’t help you!”

The assassin threw one of his daggers at Qiu Zhen, who dodged it easily by jumping in the air. He took this chance to use his final move, “Grim Reaper’s Anchor!” He stabbed his dagger into the ground and the surrounding five meters turned black releasing a thick gray fog. Skeletons’ hands shot up at Qiu Zhen while chains appeared out of the ground. They wanted to drag him down with them.

Qiu Zhen took it head on. He didn’t fear anything in this state. Third Breath, “Die!!!”

“Fucking human trash, you dare challenge me! Fine! I’ll let you know the feeling of true death!”

Boom!

The Demon Ape King produced a new aura. It seemed like instead of the Mystical realm he was at the Paragon realm instead. His black fur turned red while his muscles grew bigger and a black horn protruded out of his forehead.

“Now Die!!!”

Ah, I got so side tracked on writing this part in the arc, did so much extra.... Anyways I wasn't actually going to have him unlock the next Dragon, not until .... but I figured why not. Also what if that black jewel the Demon Ape King has is the treasure? Or maybe it hasn't been found yet, who knows right?
