《The Greatest Gene》Finding The Inheritance

The two split off and looked at each other. Miren’s face was completely red, and even Cain felt somewhat shy. The Ferris wheel reached the floor and the two disembarked. They held hands the entire way back home.
“It was nice going out with you Cain. I’d love to do it some other time”
Cain dropped Miren off in front of her house before heading back to his place.
“Ahhh, young love. Is there anything more beautiful? This is starting to remind me of my olden days, back when I was a heroic youth myself. The ladies were all over me, I had to fight them off”
“Sure Oldman, keep bragging”
“Kid, this Oldman doesn’t brag, I only ever tell the truth! The only thing more beautiful than young love is that inheritance I left behind. Let's not waste anymore time, we need to go into overdrive mode.”
The next day, they searched like crazy. They went up and down, side to side. Looking all over the place. Cain was about to call it a day when Oldman Belmon suddenly shouted.
“Stop! That spot looks familiar kid, get a little closer”
Cain moved towards the spot Oldman Belmon pointed out and saw a large stone sitting in that place.
“I remember putting this stone down here so that I could remind myself where the inheritance was. Check the back of the stone just so I can make sure”
Cain walked around the stone, and noticed some words were written on it
‘MB Wuz Here’
“... Really, could you not have left behind a marking that was a bit more sophisticated”
“It worked didn’t it? Stop complaining and move this rock out of the way. There should be something hidden underneath it”
Cain had to exert all his strength just to move this rock a single inch. This clearly wasn’t an ordinary stone, and was some sort of precious material. He ended up spending a few hours pushing the rock alone. Eventually he managed to move it out of the way and saw a small pit underneath it.

“There's nothing here?”
“That's just because I haven’t used my magic yet. I put a seal here that would only recognize my soul, otherwise this will just seem like a regular pit”
Oldman Belmon’s tiny soul flew into the pit. The second he came into contact with it, the ground below Cain’s feet started shaking. Soon the pit became something like a door, it was slowly opening, revealing a hole that seemed to run on forever. He couldn’t see the end of the hole, just pure darkness.
“Alright kid, jump in before someone else finds us”
Cain looked around, seeing that no one was in the area, he dove feet first into the hole. The pit above him quickly closed, and the rock that took him all his strength to move out of the way, slid back to cover the hole. Cain fell for what felt like hours.
“Oldman, are you sure I won’t die from old age before reaching the bottom of this hole?”
“Relax, were nearly there. Only a bit further to go”
About fifteen minutes later, Cain fell into some sort of liquid. The liquid cushioned the fall making it feel like he had just dove into a regular pool, and didn’t just fall thousands of miles. He swam to the top of the pool and quickly emerged into a cave. The cave had crystals that covered the walls, giving off a weak source of light. He headed deeper into the cave, however the deeper he went, the smaller the cave became.
Eventually he had to crawl if he wanted to move any further. After crawling for a long time, he finally emerged from the hole, and fell into a small room. The entire room was empty except for a small mat on the floor. He looked around the room and noticed that there was a door. Opening the door he entered the main hallway. He asked Oldman Belmon where exactly he was, but Oldman Belmon had forgotten pretty much everything about the inheritance.

“Kid, I most likely wiped my own memories in regards to the inheritance. That way even if my enemies found my soul, they wouldn’t be able to force any information out of me with”
Cain stopped asking Oldman Belmon anything and just headed down the main hall. He would check every room he passed, but they were all empty. After walking for a bit longer and searching a few more rooms, Cain reached the end of the hallway and saw a massive door sitting in front of him.
What was odd was that the door required almost no force to be opened. Cain only had to push slightly and the doors slowly swung open. A bright light shined into Cain’s eyes as the door opened, blinding him. When he opened his eyes again, he was shocked.
