《Artificial Biological Runic intelligence》Chapter 8

Kaylen woke up because the tree was shaking. She looked at what was shaking the tree, and she saw a bigger dragon than before. "Finally awake? Good, have you seen my child human? He looks like me but smaller." "Yes, I saw him close to a dungeon eating some rabbits. But that was a day before." "Thank you for your help human!" The earth dragon ran away with blurring speed. In an instant, it was at the tree and the other 100 meters away. Kaylen could hear branches break and the ground shaking. She at least had taken her sleep. The wound on her left shoulder was healed and closed, and she didn't feel hungry as of now. Plus, she had gained some muscle weight after she had eaten the raw meat. She stretched, and climb down the tree.
She was still in the same forest she was before, but this time, the forest had trees broken in half and feet crates on the ground. The earth dragon was a moving tank that could run at least 300km/h with 2 tonnes of weight. No one could want to fight something like this even in their dreams. Kaylen had the bright idea to leave the forest. It wasn't safe in the slightest. She thought it was better to stay in the city while soldiers chase her around rather than fight something she could never win. 4 hours later she was at the front of the city gate. In the last two days, she had made an explosive growth than what she had done in all her lifetime.
In front of the gate, there were some guards, but she let her pass without stopping her. She looked around, and she didn't found soldiers chasing her around. Even the detection skill found nothing unusual. The city was as big as Reoburgh, the walls were the same height, but the population here was far more than the capital city. She could even see other human-like people here. From beast to alien beings. What she found more interesting was, that everyone worked with each other in harmony. Big bear headed humans with wool on them and four arms working with a small child like humanoid with glasses. Everything was interesting for Kaylen. She searched for an inn to stay, and a job to make a living. The first was pretty easy to do. The inn had no name, but it housed many people. The receptionist was an octopus. "So, what do you want? A room, food, or both?" Asked the octopus with a pleasant sounding voice. "Both please." Said Kaylen. "The cost for one room and a meal is one silver per day. You will also get one meal a day for free. Just ask for it, and we will make it. As for your room, it on the third-floor number 32 ." She gave the silver, and he gave her a key with a number on it. "Can I ask you something else?" The octopus gave her signal with one of its eight arms to continue. "Do you know where I can find a job?" "Let me think... Hmmm, the adventure guild can give you quests to complete with a reward, or you can go to the board close to the gate and see if someone wants to hire." "And where is the adventure guild?" "It the building with a shield and a sword as a logo." Kaylen thanked him and went to her room.
She wanted to try if she could make other spells like the firebolt or something entirely new. But she didn't know what to make. She could make everything technically, but she didn't have any new ideas expect fire. She stopped thinking about it and went to get the free meal at the inn. She ate and when outside, searching for the guild building. An hour later she found the building. It had a gin interior with receptionists helping adventures and tables who adventures where eating and drinking. Many of them looked at the newcomers like Kaylen but didn't give her much attention, expect some whistles but nothing else. Kaylen ignored everyone and went to a line, waiting for the receptionist to finish with the other until it was her time to get help. A few minutes later, it was her turn. "How may I help you?" Ask the woman behind the desk. "I would like to get a quest to make some money." The receptionist looked at her like she was looking at a fool. People behind her started to laugh with what they heard. "Sorry but I'm not the one who gives the quest and second you don't have a badge. You have to first register as the guild's member to be able to take quests and get paid." Answered the receptionist while she was trying not to laugh. Kaylen didn't know why they were laughing, but she knew it was because she said something that made them laugh. "I would like to join the guild." The receptionist gave her some papers and a pen. "Write your name, age, and your specializations." Kaylen looked at the paper and the pain. She wrote her name and everything down. She knew how to write because of all the books she had read and how the latter was written down. "Okay, we are done." And with that, the receptionist gave her a wooden badge. "The wooden badge is the lowest tier, that means you can take quest only with the wooden insignia on the top left of the quest paper. You can find the quest there." And she pointed at a huge board, with people looking at it.

"When you find a quest you like, you take the paper from the board, and you bring it to me. I will give the quest on your badge. You can see the progress of your quest on the badge by giving it some mana. It communicates via though, so don't be shocked by that. It will give you the number of things left for you to finish the quest. Let's say, you have a quest to kill 10 rats and you have killed only 5, if you give mana to the badge, it will tell you how many you have killed, and how many are left to be killed to get your reward. Understood?" Kaylen nodded. "Then we are done, be careful with the badge. If you lose it, the next one you will have to pay."
After that, she went to the board, looking for a quest to take. She found many quests to kill rabbits, and they were for her tier. Most of the adventures skipped those, but for her, it was free money and free levels. The pay wasn't high, one bronze for five dead rabbits wasn't the best thing. She could have to kill 500 of those to make a silver coin. But she could sell the rabbits to gain more money. She picked the quest that asked for her to kill the rabbits and went to the receptionist. "Done already?" The receptionist read the quest and said. "I can give you a repeatable quest from the guild if you want, but the pay will be one bronze per seven rabbits. But you can do whatever you like with the bodies." "I will go with the repeatable quest then." "Give me your badge." Kaylen gave the badge to the receptionist, and she made a few runes on the air. When she was done, she forced the runes into the badge. "All done. You can see on the badge how many you have killed and how much you will get paid. Something else I forgot to say is that the badge has a portable 5 cubic meters of spatial-space inside it. Use it however you like. And kill as many of those binnies you can. Good luck."
Kaylen left the guild building and went outside the city searching for rabbits to kill. Well, they were technically everywhere, but because no one was actively hunting them, she thought they were just there doing rabbit staff and not making some else day worse. But now she could kill them like crazy level up and make some money as a bonus. She saw farmers trying to shoo away the rabbits, but all they succeed doing was making the rabbits eat more of their crops. Kaylen saw the rabbits level and grind. The average level of the rabbits was 4. And that was why most adventurers didn't try to hunt them. The amount of essence they could get from killing them was minute for the average adventurer. There were other methods of gaining power, but most people use the hunting method. As to why the farmer didn't attempt killing the rabbits was because most of the time more of them could come, and it was a pain in the ass to chase them. That was why they posted quests for people to kill them, and hoped new adventurers come and kill them.
But for Kaylen all of this was a plus, fewer people more profit. She used magic to kill the first rabbit. It took two firebolts in the head before it died. But now she was out of mana. But that was not a problem for Kaylen. She had the dagger. She hunted them until her stomach said to stop and eat something. Her dagger mastery had hit level 2, and she felt the change in how she gripped the dagger plus she could attack faster and stronger. Even her firebolt had leveled up one time.

Well, that was enlighting at least for her. She now knew what level everything was and what everything did. Then she went to her stats and perks.
Strength 12,22 Vitality 8,07 Endurance 9,85 Intelligence 1,08 Mana 3,14 Wisdom 1,39 Luck 0,22 Talent 2448 Charm 25,33 Rerks Runic mind synapses tier 6.
They had gone up from the last time she had seen them, but not by much. And the last thing she did, was to see her level.
Level: 10 Stats points: 0,10 Skill points:1 From now on, you will gain 1 skill point for every ten levels. Stats point gained from level 11-20 will be 0,2 per level
'SHIT! No one told me I will stop gaining skill points. I should have kept them.' She stopped bitching and went to the inn to eat. The cost of the food was 30 bronze and her net income was now -23. She hadn't gained any money from just hunting the rabbits, but she could sell them. She had found a way to put the rabbits into the badge, and that was just by thinking. She had 50 dead rabbits inside the badge. After she finished eating, she went back to the guild to take the bronze. The receptionist gave her 7 bronze only. Now she had to sell the rabbits, the easiest way was to sell them to a butcher, but first, she had to found one. She asked around people to where to find one. When she did she find the building she saw many cut up dead animals on cells. She went inside and a muscular 2-meter clerk was waiting for people to pick what meat the wanted. "I want to sell rabbits." Said Kaylen. The clerk moved his head and looked at Kaylen. "You aren't kidding right?" He said while he tried to hide a small from his face. "Nope, I have 50 of them." "10 bronze per rabbit with or without wool. We have been out of stock for more than a week. You are a business saver! Come on give me the rabbits!" "Here?" "Yea, right. Emm, Follow me." He said while he kept trying to not be sound too excited. He had an image to uphold. They went to the back of the building that had some stairs going downwards. They went to the basement, and Kaylen felt the temperature drop. She could even see her breath. "Put them here." Kaylen did what she was told, and emptied the badge. The clerk's eyes went wide from the number of rabbits Kaylen had slain and with a smile added. "If you can bring me this amount of rabbits a day, I can give you 12 bronze per rabbit." "Deal" Said Kaylen. They went back to the main building and hand her 6 silver. Now her net income had gone up. "Glad to do business with..." "Kaylen." "Kaylen. And come back if you have more rabbits because they sell fast." She waved at her while Kaylen was leaving. She waved back and went to her way. This has been an exciting day, to say the least, and she had learned new things. What she didn't know was that someone was stalking her in the shadows. Her skill hadn't pick anything that tried to attack her, only the people moving around and the person stalking her, but she didn't give much thought. She went back to the inn and to her room. She wanted to think of a new spell and this time try to make something new. The person that was stalking her moved inside her room from the window. "Hello 'One'." Said Kaylen, while 'One' removed her invisibility spell. "How did you know that I was in here?" Kaylen looked at her but said nothing. "So you don't want to say, that's okay. I came here to inform you that you have been in the wanted list on the empire. But on the bright side, Alica isn't a suspect anymore for the attacks but you. Be careful from now on, they will send people to kill you. And don't trust no one. If you see that any of the people here look at you funny, leave the city and go somewhere." And with that 'One' left the build and Kaylen alone. 'Damn it, and I though for once I will have a day without bad things coming my way! Well, bitching won't help me, time to think of a spell.' And she went back to her research on finding a new spell.
