Magic was now my life goal, the Goddess said that I have an OP affinity to magic so I should have no problem using it, the thing is, that in this world, people achieve the chance to be able to use magic at the age of 8, which was a huge letdown for me, the the point I started to cry. There was no use crying over it for too long, rules are rules, I had to wait patiently, I wonder how patient am i. The answer was obvious, when it came to something so fiction that it would only come out of a video game or story, well all I can say is that… I need it. I was so thirsty for learning magic, I would occasionally drool thinking about it, this made my parents and others around me worried about what was going on with me, they even brought a doctor to check up on me, seems there were no problems, which was obvious, its just my fantasies getting the best of me, but they aren't fantasies anymore.

Today is my birthday, I was 7 years old, all I have been doing so far has been studying magic endlessly, without being able to use it, my younger sister nicknamed me “Maginac” because of this, if you cant tell, its “Magic Maniac” merged into one. She still wouldn’t keep me company most of the times, but I think she’s opening up to me, but 7 years to get this far is a bit too much, especially when I did not do anything wrong, it was our parents for being too active for 10 years straight. My birthday celebration was over, it was way too big of a party, but I was still excited, just one more year to go, one more. For some reason I think i'm forgetting something, I look to my left to find a mirror, a short kid, white skin, well dressed, light blue eyes, and red hair reflected on it. I was finally reminded, I totally forgot about her existence, as well as the wish I made, I have so many questions to ask, or do i? I cannot really tell if I do, I feel like I do but when if I actually get the chance to talk to her, I probably won’t be able to say anything. But my wish… to make infinite wishes, i’m so damn stupid it’s hurting me, I could have used the wishes to bypass the rules! I can do that right? I decided to make my first wish now, but it's a bit different from what I was originally about to do, but I can merely make another wish right after!

I went into the forest, I thought that if I were to make a wish, something visually big would happen that would startle everyone, since a wish being made is extremely overpowered, it should look majestic. In the middle of the plains, surrounded by trees, I take a deep breath and close my eyes.

“I wish for the power to communicate with the Goddess of this dimension.”, and right on cue golden strings appeared out of nowhere, extending and dividing into many golden strings, making patterns then seem like a flower’s stem until it completely surrounded me, a dim beam of light that hit the sky in the color of yellow appeared as well, with me as its center point, then everything eventually faded. I look at nothing, that was technically my first time using magic right? Was granting wishes considered magic? Oh well. I was awestruck at the show that was just put on, but first things first.

“Hello? Anyone in there?”, I thought, expecting a reply, but no one answered.

“Helloooo?”

“Huh?”, she finally answered, her voice sounded very confused.

“Who’s there?”

“It’s me, the guy you killed a few years ago.”

“OHH! Kimy! How have you been!, but most importantly, how are you talking to me?”

“Well I just remembered about the wish you granted me, so I wished to be able to talk to you”, she went silent for a few seconds after I said this.

“Hmm, I see, I also wanted to talk to you, I need to tell you something but I forgot, I honestly could have just told you it whenever I wanted in these past years, but I forgot about that too…”

…

“Well what did you need to say?”

“Well since you wished for something so damn powerful, I had no choice but to put limitations on it, but don’t worry, the fact that it is still ‘Infinite wishes’ is still there.”, this made me wonder what did she do with my wish, but if you think about it, it’s only fair that restrictions are placed on a power like this, or else I can become a being of equal standings of God with a flick of a finger.

“I see, what restrictions?”

“Well, you cannot make wishes that have anything to do with dimensional transportation”, this was an odd one, but right before I was about to question her on this, I just realized, she really doesnt want me to go back to my own world…

“Alright, what else?”

“You cannot make a wish that allows you to defy the restrictions I make”

“Pretty obvious”

“You cannot wish for power that is equal to a God.”

“Reasonable”

“And finally…” oh the last one already? I expected quite a few for my power.

“You can only make a wish once a year”

…

Huh? Did I hear that right? I think the Goddess just placed a year long cooldown on my wishing skill. I thought to myself that this is also pretty reasonable, but it was still a huge letdown, I couldn’t reject it.

“And since you made your first wish on your birthday, that means you get one wish every time you become a year older! What a coincidence! You get to have your birthday candle wishes actually come true!” she was right, having my birthday wishes come true is pretty cool, but now my wish is basically like ‘all your birthday wishes come true’.

“O-ok, I get it. but why was I not told this before, when I was in your domain?”

“Well I had to quickly tend to another person, also the delivery was a bit quicker then I thought”, tend to another person, do Gods have meetings or something? I did not let it bother me to much.

“Anyway, I won’t always be available to talk since im very busy, but I will net you know when im free, cya!”

“Yea, sure, cya”, sigh… I had to wait until I became 8 years old until I can make my next wish, I need to make every single one of my wishes worth it, but the thing is, because of my lonely nature, I rather not try stand out too much, so I will probably put some restrictions on my own power myself. Anyways, time to wait another year…
