《The horseman, death》Prologue part 1

???: I guess it's time.
I was currently on top of a skyscraper looking out at the remains of japan. Half was nothing but craters while the rest was a ghost town. This place houses 4 of the most powerful beings on earth.
???: DEATH! COME ON! IT'S TIME TO GO.
Death: ALRIGHT I'M COMING!
I responded to my sister plague while taking a last glimpse at the city and remembering my life. Up until I was six I was a normal person like everyone else. I played with friends and had a mother and father. But one day men wearing black uniforms burst into my house while my parents were away and grabbed me. I was unconscious for the most part but when I came to, I saw a building the size of 2 mansions greeting me.
The insides looked like a mix between a hospital and a torture chamber. Every room I was dragged past had some medical equipment or some machine that looked like it would hurt if you touch it. I was taken to a room where 3 other kids were sleeping. The room had nothing except for white walls and a door. The kids looked the same age as me. 2 were boys while the other was a girl.
One boy seemed to have a little muscle and seemed to be able to snap me like a twig. He had red hair and a face that looked angry. The other was kind of fat and seemed to have expensive clothes on. He had black hair and his face kind of looked like a pig. The girl had green hair and a face that would make many go ''Cuuuuute" though she didn't seem well. When I got closer I realized she had a cold. I kind of panicked not knowing what to do.

I guess I caused a ruckus while panicking because they all woke up. All their eyes matched their hair and they looked around at their surroundings. The first to react was red.
Red: Where the hell am I. Who are you people supposed to be.
Next was black who didn't really say anything but the growl from his stomach made us all jump since it sounded like a animal. The girl simply looked confused and coughed and wheezed every now and then. For the next hour red kicked and punched the door demanding to be let out. black simply sat in the corner chewing his nails while his stomach continued to go off. I was helping green with her cold and supporting her while she stood.
Finally the door opened and in came a handsome man with with brown hair and a expensive looking suit.
Man: Good they will do just fine.
He was talking to someone outside who we couldn't see since he blocked our view.
Red: YOU! ARE YOU THE ONE WHO BROUGHT ME HERE? I'LL KICK YOUR ASS.
He charged at the man only to be thrown back by a kick.
Man: You should be grateful. You brats were chosen to help me bring peace to the world. Each of you should think of this as a honor.
Red: S..wheez..sc...screw..pant..you.
Red was on the ground holding his stomach while panting. (It seems that he got the wind knocked out of him.)I thought while looking at him. Then black spoke.
Black: Y..you know my parents are rich right? They will come and get me and throw you in jail.
Man: Hahaha Your parents are the ones who sent you here. They thought it was a great honor to have their kids be the saviors of earth. Now take them to their cages.

After saying that men came into the room and dragged us out. Red was resisting and was punched in the gut to be silenced. Black was so big that two men were needed. One to drag him and the other to keep him from struggling. Green held onto my hand with a death grip when they reached us. I held back completely terrified by what the man meant by cages. They tried to force us apart but gave up when they realized when it was useless.
Green and I were forced to walk while holding hands. We went through some hallways passing rooms that had machines. Then we entered a hallway with 4 rooms and a dead end. The rooms were like jail cells. When we reached the rooms me and green held on even tighter. One of the men noticed this and took out a knife threatening us to go to a room or have our fingers cut off.
We let go and went to a room. Each room a had a toilet, sink, bed, and camera to monitor us. I entered one while green went to a room across from me. Red was put into the cell next to mine while black was across from him. This was the beginning of our new life.

Shaman
*** Let's get this clear now: the MC is a trans woman. This is not a gender-bender. It's set in a fantasy world but the exploration of identity and gender is reality-based. Not a joke, not a kinky turn-on. If this is a problem for you, please just act like an adult and look elsewhere for something to read. *** Rating breakdown, since that should be public info: 2 x 5*, 1 x 4.5*, 1 x 3*, no reasons offered. A human shaman and healer returns from several years with the mysterious shyani, accompanied by her shapeshifting puma best friend. A valued friend, from her previous identity as a male student physician, has acquired an old shyani book, and extremists will not tolerate its presence in human hands. But back in human lands, the question arises: which world does she belong in? Generations ago, human explorers found a continent inhabited by an utterly alien culture of shapeshifting weyres and the shyani, humanoids who prefer dusk and dawn. A truce of sorts was eventually reached: humans claimed the rich lowlands, and the shyani and weyres retain the highlands. Along the border, practicality often rules, but on either side, old grudges linger in some hearts. As a student physician, Corin tried to take his own life, unable to bear the countless tiny wounds inflicted over twenty-one years of lying to himself in order to be, or pretend to be, socially acceptable. At the last improbable instant, intervention came, in the form of a spirit fox, who led him away from the existence he’d known in the lowlands and into the highlands. There, a puma weyre rescued him, and a shyani shaman helped him find his true self and offered a rebirth, a life with no more lies, and an important role to fill. Now a shaman and healer in her own right, Vixen who was once Corin learns that the one human who mattered to her in her previous life, then a fellow University student, has come into possession of an old shyani book, and the more fanatical shyani and weyres will stop at nothing to reclaim it and punish Jared. Even though it means going back into the lowlands and facing Jared as a woman, she can’t bear to just look the other way. This should be a short visit, just long enough to see the book into the proper hands and make sure Jared will not be killed for having it, and then she can return to the shyani community that has accepted her as their shaman. And, of course, her feline best friend Dayr insists on coming with her. But Jared is now a Lord, with considerable wealth and power, and his response to her presence isn’t one she expected. After years living with the shyani, she sees everything around her from a new perspective, and that makes it difficult to keep to the plan of making as few waves as possible. As an honoured guest in a highborn house, with only Jared aware that she has ever been anyone else, Vixen finds herself questioning where she belongs: with Dayr and the shyani, who accept her gender without question but have to make allowances for her differences, or with humans, in the culture she grew up in even though her past would mean a major scandal? *** Trigger warning: there are scenes of Vixen's previous life, which include some difficult moments and culminate in an (obviously unsuccessful) attempt at suicide before she finds her true self and a better life. Please be careful! This is the ONLY reason for the "Traumatising Content" tag.*** Complete stand-alone novel, 96K words. Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.
