《The horseman, death》Chapter 11

The effects were instant. The pile of dust started going straight up in the air ,not like wind was blowing it but like it was doing it on it's own, and started to take form. First it was a ball of dirt then slowly it formed a human body until it started to look like cristal. First she looked like gray clay then slowly she started to gain color until she looked like her old self. Except there was one difference from her old self. Her skin was clearly paler. Like she was dead pale or for a better example me pale.
But there was a problem. She was naked. That attack from the horse did destroy her clothes and I guess my book didn't help bring them back.
Cristal: Wha-what happened?
She spoke but she looked completely out of it.
Me: You died.
Cristal: How?
Me: Don't you remember? You attacked that horse and it killed you.
Cristal: I-I remember attacking it. Then a light and pain. My skin felt like it was wasting away. Then nothing.
Me: Yes, you were dead for a min-
Cristal: WAIT WHERE'S MY CLOTHES!
Oh, so she finally noticed.
Me: Well when I brought you back I couldn't bring back your clothes.
She was now trying to cover herself with her arms.
Cristal: DON'T WE HAVE ANY CLOTHES?!
Me: I have a few scraps of clothes from the bandit ca-
Cristal: NO WAY WILL I WEAR THOSE!
I don't blame her. All of the clothes have some kind of stains on them and personally I don't want to figure out what they are.
Me: Well I guess I can give you this.
As I said this I took off my cloak and held it out for her. She immediately took it and quickly put it on. She closed the front so no one could look.

Cristal: T-thanks.
Me: No problem.
I then turned around to see if she needed something like food or water when all of a sudden I heard something behind me.
"Sniff"
I turned to look at cristal and her whole face was cherry red.
Me: Is something the matter?
Cristal: No no everything is fine.
She answered immediately.
Me: Are you sure? You seem unwell.
Cristal: I SAID I'M FINE!
She angrily said as she turned away.
Cristal: So can you tell me what's going on?
So we sat down and I told her what happened after she fell asleep.
Cristal: Wait, so you became the horse's master?
Me: Seems that way.
Cristal: Then when I woke up and thought it was a monster and attacked it then it aged me.
Me: Yep.
Cristal: And you used a book to bring me back.
Me: You got it.
Cristal: I personally think that's all bull. I must have passed out or something.
Me: If you want I can give you proof.
Cristal: Sure show me.
Me: Okay stick out your hand.
She held up her hand and before she could even comprehend what is happening I stab it with the knife I had.
Cristal: AAAAAAHHH!
She jumped up and screamed. She quickly took out the knife and looked at the hole in her hand. She then turned to me with hate filled eyes and I could tell she was going to use her powers on me.
Me: WAIT! Look.
I said while pointing to her hand. She looked down at it and gasped. The hole was visibly closing. When it was fully healed not even a scar was left.
Cristal: What is this?
She sounded baffled.
Me: The book did more than bring you back. It gave you power's.
Cristal: What kind of power's?
Me: Well one is instant recovery of injuries. Even lost limbs can be recovered within a few minutes. This ability also stops your aging so you will forever remain in that form.

Cristal: WHAT? REALLY?
She suddenly got up real close with what looks like a real happy expression.
Me: Yeah. Look at me. How old do I look?
Cristal: 18 or 19.
Me: Well actually i'm around 26 years old.
Cristal: NO WAY!
She suddenly started dancing and shouting.
Cristal: IMMORTALITY IS REAL!
I gave her a little time to get rid of her excitement before continuing.
Me: Actually were not immortal.
Cristal: WHAT?
Me: We are close yes but we can still die.
Cristal: HOW?
She looked a little sad with this info but I now have a problem. See I don't know how to explain the cells thing to her. If i'm being honest I don't even know if the cells fact is still the thing that keeps us from dying. After all I can use mana to make magic when before I needed to use my mind to use said powers. I then decided to assume that mana is the reason for the healing thing. After all the chances of it being mana is much higher than it being cells in our bodies.
Me: Well as you know mana is everywhere in your body, right?
Cristal: Yes.
Me: Okay, now lets say someone cuts you in half. The half of you with the most mana will recover you while the other half will just fade. Now the reason this is is because in a way your still alive even if you don't know it. However if say a attack that destroys all your flesh, you know skin, blood, organs, if all those are completely destroyed to the point of being dust or non-existent you will die.
Cristal: Really?
Me: Really. So it's a good idea to stay away from people who can do this kind of stuff to you. For now.
Cristal: What do you mean for now?
Me: Well, if you train in this power you can reach the point of being able to take these attacks and still recover... maybe.
Cristal: What do you mean "maybe"?
Me: Well I know I can do it but your the first I've given this power too so I don't know what will happen.
Cristal: Oh.
She looks a little down. But she suddenly looks at me.
Cristal: One more question. Is there a way to get overcome the pain?
Me: Yeah. You get used to it.
She stared at me blankly.
Cristal: Seriously?
Me: Seriously.
She then sighs and looks a little dejected.
Me: You also have some other power's however this all came with a price.
Cristal: What price? I mean your telling me I can keep my youth and I won't gain any scars. On top of that your saying I have other powers. What price could there possibly be to gain such things?
Me: Simple, you must serve me forever or until I die. Also remember I can also kill you but you can't kill me.
She stare's at me for a few seconds then smiles.
Cristal: That doesn't sound so bad.
She then comes over and clings to my arm.
Cristal: If it means I get to stay with you.
Then almost as if she snapped out of a trance she turned red and pushed me away.
Me: Umm cristal, what was that?
I tried reaching out to her but.
Cristal: DON'T LOOK!
She quickly turned around and fired one of her beams at me. However this time there was more force and pain in it that I slowly lost consciousness until finally I blacked out

Ardent Tears
[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge.] Youth is something to be treasured, for it is the foundation upon which all experiences are built. It is also a time when some may Awaken as Ardents or Stoics; individuals who can draw great power from the Resonance of emotions. Rowan’efrii is one such youth, but at what cost? This is the story of her journey; of love and loss, friendship and isolation, fortune and tragedy. What can a girl do when she is faced with all the wonders and horrors that the world has to offer? Live! In the Kingdom of Særis, a group of renegade lords are seeking to enslave young adolescents to forge them into Ardents and Stoics. Those that fall will be used in a war against the Azure King. Will they break Rowan, or will they turn her into the very thing that will destroy them. Ardent Tears focuses heavily on all kinds of relationships including: romantic, familial, platonic and sexual. The MC is a clear example of this, especially as she is poly. Because of this, I gave the story my own Poly Tag. This won't be anything like a Harem story and it is being written by someone who is polyamorous (me). There is also going to be several LGBT themes throughout which can't be represented through Tags. Ardent Tears is now on Top Web Fiction. If you like the story, I'd appreciate it if you give me a boost by following this link and pressing boost. Massive thanks to KrazeKode for the amazing cover art. And special thanks to MelasD and Selkie for the shout-outs.
