《Archillies Duane : The World Traveller》Vol 2 : Chapter 6

=====Vol 2 Chap 6=====
Parting our lips, I stared at Archillies in disbelief whilst feeling my face burn in embarrassment, and his also seemed to be reddening as well.
“I have no regrets.” He said seriously.
“I’m sure you don’t.” I replied with a chuckle.
We both laughed for a while until I remembered what I wanted from him.
“... Do you have a mirror?” I asked after a little pause.
“Hol’ up.” Quickly, he stood up and left the room, leaving me alone with Inka who jumped on the bed before I knew it.
Taking a deep breath out, I stared at the small fox on my lap, with her now having 5 tails, however, that didn’t stop me from petting it.
With an expression as if she was in a bliss, I couldn’t stop petting her weak points, making her fall asleep in this moment.
Having nothing to do, I swept my gaze over the white walls decorated with many pictures, and a window on the opposite side of the door.
A small table made of a dark brown type of wood with a magic lamp sitting on it, and have vine-like engravings.
Knock knock.
“Enter.”
Quietly, the door opened slowly, and what appeared behind it was a maid with black hair and an average body.
“Excuse me, but who are you?” I asked curiously.
“I’m Valie, the maid who was previously assigned for Mr. Archillies’ stay.” She bowed after that.
“Hmm..”
Looking at her, I felt no menace or hidden bloodlust in her, so I sighed in relief after lowering my guard.
“I’ve heard about you; the only person that Archillies trusted in this castle, huh. I’m Rain, nice to meet you.”
“....” She didn’t reply, instead, she stared at me.
“Are you alright?”
“.. Oh, ah.. um.. Excuse me, I was just very interested in your appearance, because it looked very beautiful.” She said the last part in a low voice, nevertheless I was able to hear it.
“I see.. So what brings you here?”
“I saw Mr. Archillies run in the corridors so her told me that you have woken up, and asked me to help you until he comes back.”
“Hmm.. I’m a little hungry if you don’t mind.” I said after remembering that I haven’t eaten anything in the past.. how many hours exactly?

“By the way, how long was I here?”
“Two days.”
My eyes turned into dots, think how I should have had many ‘businesses’ to do, so I was bewildered.
Seeing my state, Valie took the liberty of answering my questions.
“Mr Archillies created a magic that maintains the body and supplies it with nutrients, saying that as long as he has it casted, the person will never need to eat or go to the bathroom. However, you will not feel satiated, and always thrift for water, so it is only usable if the target is unconscious.”
When did he.. ugh, he makes up many things on-spot that it gets me sometimes mad.
“You said you were hungry, correct? And I believe you are thirsty as well, so I had already brought food, Milady.”
Opening the door wide, she went behind the wall for a second before taking out a tray with many foods on it.
“Miss Rain, here we have the finest Floating Bull meat, with high grade Frostus Milk, white bread and for the vegetables, we have the best quality from the Mad Veggie Farms.”
“I-I see.. Thank you.”
“I always of service. By the way, Milady, here is my Calling Bell, if you ever need anything, ring it.” She said while holding the tray on one hand and placing the bell on the table next to me with the other.
“Alright.” Taking the tray from her and putting it on my lap after moving Inka, Valie elegantly bowed twice before quietly leaving and closing the door.
Slowly, I started eating the food and comparing it to what I made, before realizing the difference.
I have nothing such as a specific ‘Dish’ with different ingredients, I only cook what I have.
Sighing, I continued eating the tasty meal, and finally wiped my mouth with the napkin after rinsing it with water magic.
Putting the tray away from me, I took off the futon and moved my legs to the edges of the bed, before finally getting off and standing up.
With some anticipation, I moved my body to test its new capabilities, but the best I could do was do some weak air punches and some heating up, but I found nothing different so I stopped after 5 minutes with disappointment looming over me.
Opening up my Status Menu, I stare at the (Awakened) near my name to finally realize, it said ‘Temporarily change appearance’, so I wonder if I could turn my ‘Awakening’ off?

With that thought in mind, I willed it to be turned off, then I felt a chill down my spine before a comfortable vibration spread onto my body, disappearing in a few seconds.
Thinking that it ended, I grabbed a few hair strands from behind me to check, finding that they returned to their natural silver colour.
Sighing in relief at this revelation, I experimented with switching from normal to Awakened mode a couple of times before settling on Awakened, that is until Archie is back.
With nothing to do, I set back on the bed and start off with ‘Skill Creation’.
The ability to create new Skills, huh.. But the question is, does the amount of Skill Points that it needs depend on the strength of the skill? A question that needs immediate answer, if you ask me.
Besides, it is coupled with the powers of ‘Ability Creation’, so if what Archillies told me before is correct, which is that it all depends on the user’s will and imagination, then I can probably create the ultimate ability and skill, hehehe~.
Just before I activated the ability, the door opened as if it were kicked strongly by someone, and behind it was Archillies with his right leg retracted while having it off the ground.
In his hand was an oval mirror the with the length of half a meter and the height of a full meter.
“Sorry for the wait.” He said, while walking towards me.
“How long did I wait?” Since I didn’t think about the time, I didn’t know how long he was away.
“About 40 minutes, I guess? Mirrors are pretty rare so I had to look for the king’s room and snatch it away. The problem is, the castle is very big and I didn’t explore all of it before, so I had to look through each room one by one. Sigh..”
“Pfft.” I tried to restrain my laughter, but couldn’t.
“Anyways, look at this, your majesty.” He addressed me with a mischievous grin plastered on his face.
“Oh shut up.” I said while looking at the mirror that he directed its face at me.
Staring at my reflection, I moved my face and hair a couple of times to see how it really is, before nodding in satisfaction.
“If I may say, I look good, but I still prefer my normal look.” I said after evaluating myself.
“Whether you are like this or your normal appearance, I’ll still love yo- Oww.” Interrupting his cheesy talk with a fist on his head, I smiled at him.
“Thank you.”
“A-ahaha.. Please don’t hit me again, it hurts even if I have high defense..”
“Then don’t say such an embarrassing thing.”
“Sorry sorry, so, how are you feeling now?”
“I’m feeling.. normal, I guess?” I answered while scratching my cheeks.
“I see.. That’s good..”
We gazed in silence for a while, until I realized that my face was starting to feel hot.
“Err.. what time is it?”
“It’s a bit before midnight, why?” He replied curiously.
“I want to take a walk, I guess?”
“Sure, I know a place, but I haven’t really gone to yet it; I heard it was very beautiful at night.” He said, suggestively.
“Let’s go, then?”
Taking the lead, he left the room with me behind him, and calmly transversed this maze-like castle up till the entrance..
..
After walking for a few minutes away from the castle, we reached a lake that was surrounded by many colourful flowers that seemed to dance under the moonlight, with the moon being reflected on the water.
“Wow!” He exclaimed.
I said nothing, but stared with my mouth agap, stupefied by this scene before me.
Snapping me out of this state, he pulled me a bit more towards the lake, then sat while leaning on a rock, then tapped the ground next to him, as if telling me to sit here.
Complying with his request, I sat next to him and leaned on a different rock, but then my body moved on its own, letting my head fall on top of his lap.
At first he looked surprised, but then his hands started to move and brush my hair, causing me to feel at ease and sleepy, so my eyes unconsciously started to close, with his doing the same thing.
“Good night.” I said, in a low voice, before drifting off into dream land yet again…
