《Regis》Chapter 24 - To make acquaintances

Here is your second chapter
There was complete silence in the room. Firesword and Ghostblade just stared at Frostsickle. They hadn’t said a word. Annoyed at the silence, Frostsickle spoke up, “Well aren’t you guys going to say anything?”
Firesword raised an eyebrow, “What is there to say? If that truly is the case then we have a person to catch.”
Frostsickle sighed, “You idiot. I never meant that he is the one causing it.”
Ghostblade spoke up, “Oh? Then what do you mean Frostsickle. And please don’t beat about the bush. My patience wears thin.”
Frostsickle waved his hands, “All right, all right. What I meant is maybe those beast are not controlled by him. Maybe they want to kill him.”
Firesword said in a gruff tone, “You mean to say that this humanoid is a victim just like us? And what proof do you have of this?”
Frostsickle continued, “We have found beast tracks everywhere he goes. However judging by the tracks, these beasts are not working with the humanoid. They are stalking the humanoid. Hunting it.”
Firesword stared at Frostsickle, “Then you mean to say that these beast waves are caused by those powerful beasts that want to kill this humanoid?”
Frostsickle nodded, “Exactly as you said. That is why there have been so many big movements in these past 6 months.”
Firesword probed, “Then what is your intention? Do you mean for us to hunt this humanoid and hand it over to the beasts for peace?”
Frostsickle opened his mouth but before he could say a word, Ghostblade cut in from the side, “That would be quite foolish Firesword.”
Firesword looked at Ghostblade with a raised eyebrow, “Oh? And do pray tell why.”
Ghostblade continued with closed eyes, “It’s simple. This humanoid is being hunted by all of the most powerful beasts in this land for the past 6 months. Yet he has not been captured or found by anyone till now. This shows that this humanoid is quite powerful and might even possess power on par with those powerful beasts. So we should form an alliance with the humanoid and finish off those 5 magical beast kings.”
Firesword looked at Ghostblade and smiled, “Looks like I wasn’t the only one thinking like that. Good job anyway girl.”

Ghostblade hearing the end scowled and Frostsickle opened his mouth, “Hey that’s exactly what I was thinking. You praise me too.”
Firesword shook his head, “Not a snowflake’s chance in hell.”
Frostsickle opened his mouth and began to whimper. Firesword chuckled and then said to other two, “All right since we have decided what course of action to carry out, let’s get a move on punks.”
Ghostblade scowled, “Oy, just because you are older than us, doesn’t mean you call call us brat or girl or punks. Call us by our titles.”
Firesword grinned, “Hahaha, maybe when you both can take on this old man and beat him.”
Ghostblade and Frostsickle frowned. What Firesword had said was true. He was the strongest out of the three of them. In fact, Firesword was one of the previous general commanders and was on the border of breaking through to the next rank. Even if the both of them attacked him together it was doubtful if they could beat him. So they shut their mouths and followed him.
The three goblin commanders walked out of the meeting room and went ot their respective retinues. They brought a squad of their most elite men and then left to the spot where the humanoid was last spotted. Once they arrived, they found the captain of the second platoon waiting for them. Upon seeing the three goblin commanders, the captain fell to his knees, “Greetings to the Goblin Commanders. This one is Captain Gou of the second Platoon. Lord Firesword this is where we found the tracks of the humanoid.” As he said this he pointed to the ground a couple of feet away. There was footprints left in the ground near the carcasses of the Bronze Coyotes. The three goblin commanders looked at the ground and began to track the humanoid.
Firesword looked at Gou and said, “ Good, you have done your duty. Go back to the village and stand by.”
Captain Gou saluted and walked back to his men and led them back to the village. Meanwhile the three commanders looked at each other. Firesword said, “Alright girl, this is where you shine. Now get started.”
Ghostblade snorted but she began to track the humanoid. They weaved through the trees with their elite troops and walked to the south-west. Looking at the treetops, there were about 30 goblins jumping through the trees. After travelling a fair distance they came upon a grove of trees. The goblins kept careful watch of their surroundings to make sure that no powerful magical beasts came near them. Firesword turned towards Ghostblade, “Are you sure this is the place?”

Ghostblade nodded, “The tracks definitely run here. That humanoid definitely is around here somewhere.”
Frostsickle said, “Well where could he be hiding around here. Everything is open ground. Whats that humanoid going to do, dig a hole and hide?”
Firesword looked at Frostsickle, “That’s a smart idea kid.”
Frostsickle looked confused. Firesword sighed, “Kid if you wanted to hide from beasts where would you hide? There are only two choices, some sort of cave or hole or in the trees. I am willing to bet that the humanoid is around here somewhere and that he is hiding in some sort of natural cave or maybe he dug a hole.”
Frostsickle looked enlightened, “ Hahaha, of course I knew all of that. Hahaha”
Ghostblade shook her head, “What an idiot.”
Frostsickle looked like he would cry. Firesword laughed, “hahaha, stop fighting you brats.”
Ghostblade and Frostsickle looked at Firesword resentfully. Firesword rolled his eyes, “All right all right, lets just find that humanoid’s lair.”
Hearing this, the goblins became serious again and continued to search for the humanoid’s lair.

Meanwhile inside Ryu’s grotto
Ryu was lying down after a meal and Spark was resting on his shoulder. They had just finished eating and were completely full. As they lay there, they heard some noises from outside of the tree. Both of them instantly became alert. Ryu sat up and attached some homemade leather armour and equipped his dagger and put his sword within arms reach. He then picked up a bow he was working on and an arrow made with the tooth of a bronze coyote. He turned towards the secret entrance and aimed his bow at it. Spark also stood on a perch nearby and stared at the entrance.
Outside, the goblins had already found the secret tunnel and were already inside it. They were outside of the hatch and were waiting. Firesword looked at Ghostblade and Ghostblade nodded. Frostsickle opened the door and suddenly an arrow whized towards him and struck him in the side. It did not pierce through his armour but it knocked the wind out of him.
Ryu had seen his entrance suddenly open and had immediately shot the arrow by instinct. However after shooting he realized that there were goblins outside. He thought, “They must be here for revenge because I looted those golins. I must kill them before they kill me. Let’s kill those three tough looking ones first.” Thinking this, he shot another arrow at Frostsickle and knocked him into another goblin behind him. Both of them collapsed onto the floor.
The goblins had not adjusted their eyes to the sudden large amount of light and they could not see Ryu. Seeing this precise and accurate archery skills, Firesword raised his eye. Before he could process another thought, another arrow came whizing towards him and right after another one towards Ghostblade. Seeing this, Firesword struck the arrow away and shouted, “We are not here to attack you. We want to talk to you.”
Ryu heard the goblin shout but did not trust them so he shouted back, “Then put down your weapons on the ground and push them towards me.”
Hearing this, Frostsickle jumped up and started screaming, “Nooo way you ass!”
However, Firesword knocked him down and then picked up his weapon and threw both his and Frostsickle’s weapons towards Ryu. The other goblins followed Firesword’s action and they slowly all threw their weapons towards Ryu. Seeing his weapon being thrown inside the room, Frostsickle started crying. Firesword ignored this and shouted, “We have done as you said, now can we talk?”
Ryu watched as they threw their weapons towards him and considered. These goblins had followed his instructions but if they got close could he beat them? As he thought he decided to take a risk. He shouted towards the goblins, “All right. But all of you can’t come in.”
Firesword had been waiting patiently and hearing this he shouted back, “That’s fine, only 3 of us are coming in.”
Ryu shouted, “Fine, the rest have to stay outside the door.”
Firesword acknowledged this, “All right.” Then he turned towards his men and told them to wait outside. Although they protested, Firesword shut them up with a glare and a frown. They left unwillingly. Firesword swung Frostsickle over his shoulder since he was still groaning from the pain of Firesword hitting him earlier. Then Firesword walked in with Ghostblade and Frostsickle over his shoulder.
