“Master, what are you doing?” Nylen said as she cocked her head sideways showing she was curious.

“I’m preparing the destination point of the ‘Portal’. We are going to work after going there.” I replied and at the same time ‘Portal’ finally connected the two points which is here, the forest, and the kingdom. Portal is a very helpful spell when you want to go somewhere quickly, but you need to set up a point and record it in your spell so you may teleport to it. I had forgotten to set up the destination point for ‘Portal’ in the kingdom, so I was using one of my Eyeball Corpses to substitute for connecting a certain space in the kingdom and in this forest. Honestly, I didn’t know how I came up with this idea.The first thing that came to my mind was the mental connection between me and my minions? We could have just simply walked back to the kingdom, but I don’t want Akuezhor to wait too long.

“But Master, what are going to do there?” said Nylen with a confused tone

“Well, I’m currently trying to help a couple of people who had fallen into a horrible state in life and investigate the causes of it.” I said while being nervous. The reason why I’m not in a comfortable position right now is probably because Nylen is quite familiar with me and also very close to me right now. She’s currently having her head in contact with my harm while holding my arm with her own two arms. As she looks at me, her two half-closed emerald eyes looked at me with an affectionate gaze.

“Hmmhmm. Then who is the fox on your shoulder?” Nylen inquired with her gaze switched to Nemaus who had dozed off after killing a good number of beastmen. After the massacre and the summoning I did, I moved all the beastmen corpses to one place and began cutting off the ears of them. Nylen also helped as she wanted to be close to me. I really can’t help but think of her similar to that of a little sister character in a certain eroge. Whatever.

“This fox here is Nemaus. I met him while on a search for something and coincidentally met him. Ever since then I raised him.” saying that I patted Nemaus’s small head as he slept. Nylen being interested or just wanted to touch him, reached out for him and attempted to pat his head; however, when Nylen’s hand almost came in contact with Nemaus, he opened his eyes and growled at her. Nylen being surprised from the sudden change in behavior, immediately retreated her hand.

“Not friendly huh.” Nylen made a saddened look.

“Nemaus isn’t particularly in a good mood right now. He had to deal with someone who irritated him a lot just a few moments ago. Well, tt was the alpha of the pack who was the leader of the beastmen who we cutted their ears just now.” Explaining to her so she could get the gist of it.

“Hhmmhm, well it doesn’t matter anymore since it has been dealt with already, she said with a cheerful smile.” After that being said, I told her we gotta go into the ‘Portal’ before it vanishes. We then stepped through the dimensional-looking portal and reappeared the next second at a different place than the forest. The place was noisy from the shopping and the steps of the people walking through the area nearby. Being at the remote location where I took out my Eyeball Corpses to investigate the matter with the slums, I see another person was in front of us waiting patiently for us to get through the portal. After Nylan and I took out our last foot out of the portal, it disappeared like it was never there to begin with. Looking at Akuezhor who moved his body and made a bow, Nylen widened her eyes from being surprised.

“Welcome Back Master. How was your time spent on the quests you taken?” Akuezhor asked considerately. Even so, I can see that he doesn’t seem to be holding good news about the slums which we are investigating. It could easily be told by looking at his clenched teeth even though his mouth his closed.

“I’m back Akuezhor,” I replied and then gestured my arms towards Nylen who was still sitting on her huge beach ball, “and this is Nylen, my servant that I just summoned a few moments prior before coming back here.” As I said this, Nylen waved to him with a smile on her face, showing that she is happy for having an addition to our group. Continuing, “And Nylen, this is Akuezhor, my friend and servant who decided to tag along with me a couple of days ago.”

“It is a pleasure to meet you Nylen.” Akuezhor said with a slight nod.

“Same for me Akuezhor.” she said with sparkles in her eyes. I could see that she is happy about our circle of friends and companions? Getting back onto topic, after the introductions between my 2 servants, I asked Akuezhor for what he said about information about the cause with the slum people.

“Yes, I was able to find some people who seems to be related to the cause for the state of those people.” he said unhappily and continued, “However, I was only capable of finding the ones who directly did it..”

‘Huh? What did he meant by that?’

“What do you mean Akuezhor?” I asked with a concerned expression. What did he mean my directly?

Akuezhor scowled, most likely to himself for being incompetent, “I meant that the culprits who I have found weren’t exactly the mastermind. I mean to say is that they were most likely hired to do so. After capturing them, I attempt to gather information from them, but they didn’t bulge. It may seem that there is a spell that bound them to not be capable of telling me even though they want to.”

“How did you attempt to get the information from them?” I inquired

“Yes, I just played a psychological game with them and I can see they gave up. However, they just can’t seem to be able to tell me what I wanted.”

“Hoohh~.” I heard Nylen muttered to herself. I can see from the corner of my eyes that she is enjoying herself for some reason. I think that she is quite interested in our current operation. Nylen doesn’t seem to mind people’s suffering as we were having the conversion. I guess as a different species, you would have different morals. I was only able to obtain getting information about Nylen with ‘Analyze’ and the biography of her doesn’t mention morals. What are the standards of a fiend’s morals? The only thing I could find was that she only desired to be with me just like before in the past.

“Is that so? Lead me to where those guys are. I just might be able to get the information we need from them.” I said. Akuezhor then walked while Nylen and I followed behind him as he lead the way. We went to dark alleyways in between the buildings, turning right then left then right…… and we are now in front of a trapdoor. Akuezhor then released the sealing magic he used on the trapdoor and lifted it open. We then moved inside the trapdoor. With all of us having something similar to ‘Night Vision’ we traveled in a dark tunnel which leads to who knows where.

We then arrived to a ladder that was leaning on a wall. Akuezhor then got onto the ladder and climbed it with us following behind him. He then lifted the lid which is above the ladder as he went up and get himself out of the tunnel. Why is there a tunnel here in the first place? A hideout? Why here of all places?

That being said, everyone soon got out of the tunnel and what had appeared in front of us when we are out were several men tied up together. The arms were tied up while their mouths were gagged with a sphere object. However, there was one thing I wasn’t able to stand, and that was the smell of human feces all over the place. Well, being tied together would be bad if you had to remove some waste out of your body. Worried about the toxic air and Nemaus being poisoned, I made a mana barrier around him. Nylen seems to be fine, but she is now wearing some kind of mask that looks like a magician mask or something. Where did she get the mask? As we show up in front of the captured people, they all looked at each one of us.

When they looked at Akuezhor, they panicked. When they look at me, they gave me an envious expression. Nemaus, they ignored. As for Nylen, well, they widened their eyes and something started to pop out of their pants in a couple of seconds, which everyone noticed. In the end, everyone of them had their manhood bleed except for the women by Nylen when she threw some darts at them. Again,where did she even get those? Does she also have an inventory like me and Akuezhor too?

That being said, while they were attempting to scream from the pain located on their crotch, I moved towards them while lifting my right hand up and grabbed the nearest person’s head. Activating ‘Soul Reading’, I begin to read all that person’s memories while removing some of the irrelevant parts such as the days where he or she shat their pants, or the memories where they were shoving a branch up their ass. It was quite disturbing by the way. After reading all the information they had, I modified their souls to obey and serve me. By doing so, I could obtain information immediately when they get contacted by their clients and the such. I did this again and again until I finished absorbing all the information they had.

Akuezhor asked, “What did you found out Master.”

Nylen nodded in agreement, “Ya Master, what did you get from them?”

Turning to them when they inquired, I turned towards them and told them, “These guys didn’t have much information about their client. It seems someone sent them a mail which tells them to do things such as gathering information, spying, killing, stealing, deceiving, and the other likes for money. I guess they are some kind of group who does anything as long as it is for money. But being as the client sending a mail instead of going to them themselves, they are being quite cautious. In other words, we haven’t gain any information about the culprit.”

Saying this made me frown in frustration. Despite being able to find something or someone associated with whatever that made a group of people lose their will to live, there wasn’t any good leads that could help us find the problem. Being frustrated,all I could do was grit my teeth. Though I think the most affected was of course Akuezhor, as he was the most compassionate person out of the 4 of us. He was releasing killing intent while thinking of whatever he was thinking. His body started to release and radiate with energy as the veins in his head began popping out.

“Akuezhor, behave yourself in front of Master’s presence, there will be a right time for you to release your emotions, however, right now isn’t the time.” Nylen said as she scowled Akuezhor

Noticing and remembering what he was doing he turns towards me and deeply bowed, “I apologize for my unseeming behavior. Please forgive me! “ showing his regret.

Raising my hand and gesturing him that it is ok, “It’s okay. I know very well how much this matters to you. Anyways, since we didn’t find anything that is really relevant, all we could do is let my new minions gather the information for us. Hopefully, that client would hire the same group for his next motive and goal.”

Nylen and Akuezhor bowed showing they understood.

“And also, it could be good to take a slight breather, no?” smiling brightly at Akuezhor which he replied with a grin. He seems to relax, if not slightly. After our conversation, I sent out the newly acquired minions who would act like how they normally are before as they pretend as if nothing happened to them. They soon are gone from sight and we decided to get back to the surface.

Appearing and getting back to the surface from the dark tunnel, the sun was setting, showing that the day is about to end. I then asked my 3 companions if they were hungry. They all nodded so we tried to decide where should we eat. I am also eating too. I, who haven’t eaten since the day I was transported here, was interested how to food here tastes like. Since Nylen is here along with Akuezhor, I am sure my safety is pretty much guaranteed. Ah, can’t forget that Nemaus would probably protect me too. Probably. So I created myself a body with exactly the same look for which I made for my ‘Illusion Mimicry’ and successfully made the body. I then used ‘Merge’ spell so my lich body and my human body would as it said, Merge.

Allow me to explain the effects of ‘Merge’. Simply put, it just combines several things together. Mainly used for professional jobs such as blacksmith, alchemy, accessory crafter, and much more. For me, I’m an alchemist. Though since I never really had to use my skills as an alchemy in this world where there aren’t many valuable materials if I didn’t mention this. By the way, alchemy is just creating potions with various effects like turning yourself into a new race or heals your HP and MP to full. Anyways, I used ‘Merge’ to combine my lich and human body while gaining actual flesh which I eat now while retaining my abilities as a lich, though somewhat dulled by about half when I checked my stats. I had already experimented this a couple of times on other created bodies before doing it for real, which just now I really did merge my lich body and human body. Though even if I were to lose it, I could just make another one without any abilities being dulled or weakened. And even if it doesn’t work, I have ‘Diffusion’ spell to separate things when anything goes wrong to separate the bodies. My skills capabilities really changed this much huh.

In the end, we chose the most luxurious restaurant available in this kingdom. It is located quite close to the castle of the king. From the various information I have obtained through ‘Soul Reading’ on my victims, I knew that the inner part of the kingdom mostly have nobles occupying it. There are also slightly better shops such as the brothel. From what I heard, the girls there are quite pretty. But only nobles or wealthy merchants are allowed to buy them. I’m sure from reading the memories of my victims, I heard that someone said, “Hmmph, enjoying a woman’s body which was already used by a commoner is distasteful. Only ones such as myself deserves it.”

Honestly, I don’t give a fuck. Not really something I should be bothered with anyways as long as I’m not involved in it. Anyways, Nylen, Akuezhor, Nemaus, and I who was in my merged body were dressed up nicely while going to where the luxurious restaurant called Baylon Paradise is located. We dressed up because clothes is what makes a person after all. Actually, only Nylen and I had to dress up since Akuezhor’s suit was what a nobleman would usually wear. My clothes which I bought from the clothing shop was already in tattered ever since Nemaus been frequently waking up on my shoulder while extending his claws into my clothes. So it was pretty much have holes in them.

So before we went to eat, we bought some clothes to match our appearance while at the same time, look fabulous. Arriving at the front of Baylon Paradise, he pushed open the door and came inside while being greeted by a handsome male receptionist.

“Good Evening Sirs and Lady, please, come this way.” with a well practiced smile, he lead us to a vacant table and seat. Looking at the inside of this building, I see the room was decorated with nicely drawn paintings along with some art sculptures that are sitting on a couple of pedestals. The wallpaper was white which gives a sacred feeling of this place and whatnot.

The other wealthy customers were having conversations with their party which gives off the image of a high society social party. Unlike the feeling when you go to a place to eat while talking about sex and how many people you slept with which is completely stupid. We soon arrived at our assigned table and sat down when the receptioner pulled out the chairs for us. Why are they even pulling the chairs for us anyway? We could do it ourselves. Is it just the culture or custom that they have?

Being seated, he gave us the menus. Opening them, all I see were the dishes names with a drawing near it. If only if it was a camera taken picture, then I would have a better image of what the dishes would look like. Considering this is in the medieval times setting with magic included, then it was understandable. Looking over the meals, I choosed the meal which looks like white bread, with corn, and a slab of meat of a sort. Nylen and Akuezhor picked something similar to mine, but with differentiations such as having veggies like lettuce on the plate, or something else like eggs.

A waiter came by and we told her our orders. She made a slight bow and went to the kitchen to relay our orders to the chef. Waiting for a while, I took out small pieces of dragon flesh to feed to Nemaus. He seemed uninterested in the food here so I gave him his usual amount of food. He is getting more pickier as the days past. Thinking about that, I noticed with the corner of my eyes, I could see that there was quite a few people were staring at our group. They consist of late-teen boys and girls. They seemed quite curious of our group.

A dark skinned lean man wearing glasses with a nicely combed black hair, with a suit which makes him look like a dependable lawyer or businessman(Akuezhor), a white haired guy with purple-eyes with especially nice facial features and a slim build, and a purpled haired girl in her early-teens with exotic emerald eyes. My group seems to be quite a looker. Also not to forget Nemaus sleeping on my lap. He also brought some attention since his fur his quite a grey color.

After several minutes, a waiter brought us our food. Smelling the food and actually having some appetite for a while now, I digged in. Nylen and Akuezhor also did so and I have to say, it was quite good. Better than what I expected it to be. I thought at first in the medieval times, the food wouldn’t be good as the modern times in my world. Especially because of the sauce that were made and how it was cooked. The food here is quite good, but in my world the food was still better my leaps and bounds. Mostly the desserts that I love eating though.

Finishing out last spoonful of food and cleaned up the plate nicely, we asked for our bill. For this meal, it was 1 gold and 5 silver. Man that was expensive considering it was only one meal. After paying for it, we left. As we were leaving, I could sense that a couple of people from the restaurant were quickly coming towards us. I can’t sense much hostility from them, but the feeling I get from them wasn’t something I liked. Nevertheless, I awaited them to come to us and see what are their intentions.
