《Aliad [Dropped]》Prologue / Chapter 1 - Reborn?

Prologue
It was just an ordinary day, going to work, traffic, work, lunch, work, going home, traffic, home. Everything was going exactly the same way as before. That is until a plane crash landed on top of my house. I felt my consciousness fading away. Everything was going dark and I could barely hear or feel the flames. All I could look forward to was the darkness as my eyes started to shut and the cold overcoming the heat I felt. I was never religious or anything like that. But I felt that my life was pretty boring and lame. I did not want it to end so easily. As my consciousness failed, I screamed in my head, I don’t want to die. And with that everything was gone.
Chapter 1 - Reborn?
*voices*
I woke up. I could see that I was in some sort of cradle that was rocking back and forth. It felt so soothing that I went straight back to sleep. Next time when I wake up, I thought.
The light woke me up from my bed. I turned five this day. Its been five years since I was reborn in another world. I figured it out a couple days after I first woke up. I saw that I was in a medieval like world called Arun. From what I heard it is exactly the same as Earth only it has five continents and only six oceans. There were also more than just the humans. There were elves, dwarves, winged humans, dragons and beastmen. There were variants of each race so those variants made their own nations except for the beastmen and dragons.
The elves were a mix of Dark Elves; who were elves with pale skin, red eyes, white hair and were good at secrets, High Elves; who were elves that had blonde hair, fair skin, their eye color was the same as humans and were good at magic, Blood Elves; who were elves that were more muscular than any of the other elves had black hair, fair skin, eye colors the same as humans and were good at combat, good enough that they usually went crazy.
The little dwarves were a mix of Stone Dwarves; dwarves whose bodies turned into stone making them look like walking rocks, they were naturally attuned to the earth and so long as they were on earth they would not die, they do not have hair nor any beards; Dark Dwarves, dark-skinned dwarves who were really good at magic and were mostly a group of mages rather than warriors, they had styled beards but no hair; Dwarves were basically humans with short humans who had a stocky yet muscular body, these dwarves have styled beards as well as hair compared to the Dark Dwarves and Stone Dwarves, they usually were combat oriented always seeking a fight.
The beastmen are a tribal group. Unlike the dwarves or the elves there is really no way to easily separate them. There are lionmen, tigermen, hawkmen and others. These all constitute the beastmen. Animals with the limbs of humans as well as the physique to match their animalistic form. They retain their primal rage making them strong warriors but are looked down upon by all the races as being inferior.

The dragons were a proud and secretive group. Not much is known other than their capability of speech as well as their natural ability to use magic. They live in the Ice Front and stay there most of the time.
At least this much I learned from the studies I was forced to take when I was three years old. Along with all the etiquette and other things they made me learn as a prince. That’s right I was reincarnated? Reborn? As the third prince of the Rigel Kingdom in the Lunaria continent. That’s all I know really as the rest of my studies concerning geography and history get taught to me after today.
I got up from my bed and suddenly the door opened. In came my butler, Sebas. He was wearing a white long sleeved shirt with a black vest over it and black pants. There was a dangle of a chain on his right pocket, obviously it was his pocket watch. He had a calm and solemn expression but I knew that he was always the friendliest and the one who knew me the best as being the one to really make sure that I was taken cared of as my family was always busy. He was old, forty five years of age, his white hair was combed and neat. Even his white moustache was styled nice as well as his finely combed white beard. As he closed the door he said, “Good morning Prince Zed.”
Oh yeah after I was reborn I was given a new name Zed Rigel. Everyone in this world at least has a first name but last names are saved for royalty or nobility.
As I was thinking that, Sebas went to my closet and started getting clothes to change me in.
Having a butler is great. As Sebas was changing my clothes I began to ask what was going to happen today. Sebas said, “All the servants are currently making sure that the castle is able to receive all of the nobles as well as the royal families of the Lunaria, Mustashum, Luna’tesh, and Gunterra.”
“The elves and the dwarves are coming?” I asked
“Yes, your royal father, invited everyone from the Lunaria continent as he was sure that you were a genius,” he said with a grin.
It was true, during the last two years that I was being taught, I remembered everything and was able to amaze even my teachers. It was only right as I wanted to make the best out of this new life, so I put my all into everything. But things still had to be kept to tradition. I learned everything I was supposed to learn in two years in just six months. Meaning for the rest of the time I spent it learning as much as I could about what I was allowed to learn and even the ones forbidden me. Tradition stated that I learn magic from my fifth year but after tripping and bleeding when I was four years old and having been healed by magic I longed to know more about it. For the last year, I have been sneaking out of my room to learn in the royal library as well as practicing magic in my own room. I was completely sure that my actions were all kept secret. But of course, after Sebas’ comment about my “genius” and his grin, I knew that everyone knew. I couldn’t help but be despondent. I was sure that no one knew!

“Do not worry my prince, only the royal family knows,” Sebas said to comfort me.
“How much do they know?”
“Everything,” he said finishing up my changing. “Breakfast is ready and the royal family awaits.”
I tense up, “Am I the last one?” I asked worried because punctuality was one of the traits my parents were most concerned about.
“Yes but since it is your birth date, they let you sleep in,” said Sebas, “nonetheless it is no good to keep them waiting.”
“Okay,” I said going out of my room and heading down to the dining hall. But before I exited I stopped to take a look at the mirror. What I saw was a childish boy of five years. He had silver hair, gold eyes and bronze skin. He was scrawny but that is to be expected from a five year old prince. My hair was short but they spiked up. I was wearing a black long sleeved collared shirt with gold linings. I had on silver pants and a pair of black boots. I liked the color black and I knew with the cleaning enchantments on the clothes that whatever I did would not leave a hint of dirt on them. After looking myself over I exited.
The corridor outside my room was lavish. There were paintings of my ancestors lined up in every other section of the wall separated by marble columns. The floor was made of some blue tiles that easily accented the marble columns. A door would appear after every minute of walking until I reached the end which led to a railing overlooking a courtyard. I turned right and slowly descended the violet colored carpet that filled the whole staircase. The staircase rounded to the left as it slowly led me down into the courtyard. Reaching the courtyard I turned left and into the Great Hall. This Hall was decorated with armor instead of old paintings. At the end of the hall was a door that led to the throne room. I turned left at the crossroad before the throne room and headed to the Dining hall. I stopped and let Sebas announce that I was here and entered.
Inside was a giant hall, lavishly decorated with pink and some white pink. The red curtains were parted revealing the Great plains of Lunaria that the Rigel Kingdom was located in. The chandeliers were blinking as the light of dawn reflected from them. In the center was a round table filled with food obviously made for the nobility as other than being plentiful was also made with care to the presentation. My whole family was sitting and nearest to where I entered was my older sister, Alexandra, she was the youngest of my three older sisters. She had silver hair and bronze skin like I did but her eyes were black. She’s fifteen this year and she wants to be a priestess. She had on her priestess black priestess robe and a star necklace around her neck. My parents wouldn’t let her apparently but they relented when they found out that my sister had a gift for healing magic.
“Morning Zed,” she said to me with a smile.
“Morning runt,” said my older brother, the second prince, Salazar Rigel. He was seated next to my sister. He had black hair, gold eyes, and was fair skinned. He was lean but not that muscular. His hair spiked up like mine and had an unkempt beard. He wore a blue long sleeved collared shirt with a bunch of medals and black pants and shoes.
“Don’t call him that,” snapped my oldest brother, the crown prince, Leon Rigel. He was seated across Alexandra. He had silver hair, brown eyes and bronze colored skin. He was more muscular than Salazar. He wore a black long sleeved shirt with red lining as well as a complimenting black pants with a sword on his left hip on a red scabbard.
“Morning Zed,” said my twin older sisters who sat in between my two older brothers. They were Eustasia and Serephine. They both looked the same but also were easy to tell apart. Both had white hair and gold eyes but Eustasia had bronze colored skin while Serephine had fair skin. Eustasia had long flowing hair while Serephine had short hair. They both were lean like Salazar but not as muscular. They both wore easy to move in clothing. As much as it displeased my father. They both wore leather clothes that were neat enough to be able to look presentable in them. Eustasia had a black and red leather clothes while Serephine had black and gold leather clothes. Leaning next to their seats are their trusty rapiers.
“Good morning my son,” said my mother, Queen Elizabeth. She was the most beautiful person that I have ever met. She had black hair, brown eyes and fair skin. She wore a dark pink dress that were embroidered with gold trimmings and linings. She was a commoner from what I hear and I am really proud of my father the king to have married a commoner.
“Good morning Zed,” said a rough but gentle voice that belonged to my father, King Aaron. He was large, broad shouldered and muscular. He had an essence of someone you did not want to mess with yet was kind and gentle. His eyes were gold colored, his hair silver and his skin was bronze. He wore a silver and gold long sleeved shirt as well as black pants.
“Good morning everyone,” I said after everyone greeted me. I then proceeded to my seat to the left of father and began eating breakfast. Its only been five years in this world yet I feel warm and comfortable. No one knows the secret about me being reborn but this life was great. I’m going to do everything that I can to keep this happiness, I thought with a smile on my face as I ate breakfast and talked with my new family.
