Chapter 4|| Finishing what they started

"Kai what's the other elixir for?"

Kai just stood there silent for a moment

"Kai!"

"I have to finish this."

"But you said you killed them what do you mean."

Tara stared at her husband with a confused look and then a thought occurred.

" You....... you can't, we're fine now, I'm fine, sens fine, we left we're safe."

Grabbing tara on her shoulder.

" We're not safe! don't you see."

"We'll leave, we'll go, far far away. They won't persecute us in rashura you don't have to do this."

" After what I've done they'll follows us to the ends of Gordonia."

Tara embraced kai tightly.

" Please there's women, children, we can just leave you don't have to kill them."

" I must."

Tara digging her nails into kai's back whimpering.

" No, no."

"Don't you see not only did I kill those men but the chief as well.If the region lord ever finds out about what I've done or about our son we will die. Everyone in the village knows about our son and soon they'll realize their husbands won't return word will eventually get out so I must, I must kill everyone in Seedal village."

" But those children all those children I can't bare it."

Tara now crying hysterically digging her nails deeper into kai back pleading him.Finally kai snaps and slaps tara hard on the right side of her face, disheveling her hair into a mess. With the sudden shock, her hands go limp and she's quiet, eerily quiet. She starts to laugh quietly at first raising her voice louder and louder until she's at a crazy level laughing like a maniac kai quickly slaps her again and she finally stops looking down in a hushed tone she says.

" His eyes he's a demon."

"what! he's our son, tara have you've lost it"

" No, your the one who's lost something, you just said you would slaughter an entire village. Your heart your humanity where did those go."

"I...I, our son... I."

Kai couldn't speak he had no words, all he could think of was his son if not for him then what did he kill those men for.

" Do you know how sen and I survived in the forest.Did you even think to ask?"

" ask"

"Let me tell you."

As tara recounted the events of what happened kai looked on in utter astonishment.The fear and exhaustion she faced, the man cutting her down nearly killing her and her son. The Drogens devouring the man and finally how sens eyes shined and collapsed the 3 beast. Kai just couldn't believe it, he was disgusted at what he felt and he was so upset that he nearly vomited, as tara finished up her tale she finally looked up at kai and with a face full of sadness said.

"Please, no more death."

" I........your right there's been too much killing I shouldn't have said what I did we'll.......we'll just leave, first thing in the morning."

An hour or so later the 2 were now completely relaxed lying on the floor embraced in each others arms with little sen in between. As the night edged on the couple were 2 exhausted to use the bucket of water to bathe and so they gently drifted off to sleep.

The inn completely quiet. As everyone has laid down for the night dreams fill each room, some sweet others a nightmare but as they sleep one does not and if one were to look upon him they would call him....... monster!.

Sen's POV

"As I lie between my mother and father the last thing I can do is sleep. A man nearly killed my mother, when I saw him swing his sword to kill her my mind raged like thunder, and using every bit of mana and my will within me, I threw a small nearby object at the man's head knocking him down. Just when I was going to do it again the ground trembled, and a creature appeared. I witnessed a man being eaten by a beast and at the time I thought (good.) As 2 more beast showed up they quickly devoured the man's flesh, it was............ quite interesting to say the least, but when they finished the fools turned on me. Had I more power I would have crushed them against a tree but alas my meagerly small amount of power only managed to put them to sleep. My first day out and already I am marked for death.thinking of the moment I was born I had knowledge but from where and how I couldn't tell you when I try to think of where it's from I only get an image of absolute darkness an abyss which try's to take you, and peels at your every thought almost as if its devouring my soul . Thus, here I lie awake. Contemplating my very existence, there must be a reason there has to be, Shutting my eyes quickly I hear my father next to me sitting up so I pretend to be asleep."

Kai sits up looking at his sleeping wife and sons face, he softly strokes his sons head and gently kisses the two before he sneaks out of the inn at night.

[Just outside the village of Trendale]

Kai's POV

"tara forgive me but I cannot take the chance for if anything were to happen to you I would not be able to continue on living."

And like he was never even there he dashed towards Seedal village at his maximum speed. What took over an hour to get from by walking with his wife. Him being a warrior of the 5th stage he arrived just outside of Seedal village in a matter of minutes. His speed really was like the wind, looking at this village he once thought of as his home a rush of regret and guilt washed over him.

For what he was about to do truly was unforgivable, he knew if he did this then he would be just like those who persecuted his family, but he simply could not take the risk of his sons eyes getting out, and so with no more words or thoughts he quickly placed his left hand near his mouth and tore into his own flesh until his hand simply gushed blood.

Kai's POV

"I must finish this up quick."

Using the same speed as before he dashed from house to house giving each door a small slap, slathering a bit of blood on each one that he touched 35 houses in total 35 family's.

Kai's POV

"I need to hurry."

Looking a bit pale, he fled out of the village once again and at his top speed. Heading directly into the forest gliding around trees as if there were none to begin with, they did very little to impede his speed. Finally reaching a clearing he looked and said.

" This is it."

Squeezing his palm extremely hard more fresh blood gushed into the ground, and as the ground quickly drank it up in less than a minute kai felt trembling directly below his feet.Sensing danger, he immediately shot backwards barely dodging a drogen bite, after hearing his wife's story a plan quickly clicked together in his mind.

Before his wife ever asked him not to kill his mind was already made up. Just as dodged the first one a second and third one shot out of the ground directly at him chomping at his feet and chest, and when he dodged those 2 as well the chase was on. Running through the forest was a little bit more difficult.

Now that he's lost so much blood he's become a bit slower, and as he twist and turns thru the tree line the 3 drogens easily surround him but with a quick leap he jumps towards a tree, and just as the 3 beast jump at the same tree he kicks off of it flipping over them quite agilely. Landing like a leaf, he increases his speed just a bit.

Kai's POV

"that was close."

As kai reaches the village with the drogens in tow, he runs just past a few doors before the drogens stop chasing. All three look confused and just when kai thinks his plan has failed each drogen leaps at a different house door quickly taking a bite out of the doors.

When people hear this some come to the door thinking there's trouble but as they do each one is brutally chomped on. Screams start to erupt all over the village, as this happens kai jumps to the top of a tree to get a clear view of what's happening. So as to not let a single person man, women or child escape.

He quickly drinks his last elixir healing his hand and restoring his blood loss in seconds after a few hours all of the screams have subsided and each drogen full and with no more victims to tear apart leave the village headed in the direction back towards their nest.

Kai jumps down from the top of the tree and springs into action going from door to door checking every house. Each body he finds if it has a head he quickly decapitates it, for if he doesn't the bodies may return as zombies in which case a true disaster would befall the lands, after removing any who had a head kai is drenched in their blood.

Smelling so much death his face is ashen white but knowing he must finish, he tears off a few branches from a nearby tree and starts a fire lighting each branch on fire he sets the whole village aflame, after most of the houses are gone kai turns to leave the village.

"I'm sorry."

By this time, the sun is slowly rising. Kai grimaces at what he had just done and with quick steps he looks back no more.

[Trindale Village]----------- [Boar Foot Inn]

Kai sneaks in as quietly and as quickly as he can, and as he enters his room he's shocked to see his wife sitting on the bed staring at him with a solemn face.

"I....I

"Enough!!!........i......i understand."

Kai collapses onto his knees and starts sobbing.

" I had to, I had to."

Tara walks over to him kneels down and embraces him with a soft hug. After a few minutes kai settles down tara stands up and starts to strip, kai witnessing this is utterly confused, but tara ushers him to strip as well and so he does.

As they stand there naked facing each other tara takes a rag from the bucket of water and starts to scrub all the blood off of kai,wiping every inch until she sees no more dirt she turns around and hands him the rag and a strange calm comes over the two.

As he begins to gently scrub the dirt off of her a small smile appears on his face and he can't help but pinch his wife's cute ass, shocked by this she turns around and pinches his stomach really hard and even gives it a twist, she smiles back and says in annoyed tone.

" what do you think you're doing?"

kai with a pained laugh says.

" hehe, I couldn't help it seeing that beautiful ass."

"you damned pervert."

"hehehe but I'm your pervert."

"pfff ha ha ha."

As the two laugh at each other once again they know in they're hearts they'll be okay.
