Sam decided to sleep first and spend his reward points on the next day.

He woke up at around 9 am and sat down in his throne after a light breakfast.

He opened the city menu and checked his reward points.

8.125!!

Sam looked at the income history window and discovered most of the points being from the daily city production, villages and the donated quest rewards from the "Nightwatch" members.

" That's awesome!! With this, I have something to work with."

Sam called Jack who was still residing in Woodchester.

" Hey Jack, it has been a few days since we talked. How is it going for you guys?"

" Good to hear you Sam, I would say we are doing more than fine. The walls of Woodchester and Oakhausen are already changed to stone walls. We actually started to construct multiple watchtowers connecting the villages and Blackstone city, which will make traveling between these places a lot safer.

All of the soldiers in the villages have also finally reached at least Level 10. Nissa and I are Level 17 while one warrior in Oakhausen was also able to reach Level 15 after killing a boss. There are five soldiers of Level 14 or 13 in each village with a total of 25 soldiers in Woodchester and 20 in Oakhausen.

All in all I would say the military situation right now is really good.

The fishing in Oakhausen starts to improve too. With more fishers and a few more soldiers over there in Oakhausen, they might be able to catch enough to send them to Blackstone city. More workers for their quarry would be enough to provide both our villages with stones.

A few more workers for Woodchester would be great, as well as a few horses in both villages. You will be happy to hear that we found some sort of strange red metal which we plan to mine."

Sam was happy hearing the news, especially the part about the red metal.

" That's good news! I will send a group to bring you everything. I want you to help the soldiers I send with leveling up. We don't have enough monsters around here anymore to help them rise to Level 10. Everything should be in Woodchester in around two hours.

We will stop the stone deliveries and use the stones procured in Oakhausen to expand both villages. I will send out a few of our workers and builders to help with the watchtowers.

I have to talk about this with Linda but I also plan to upgrade the paths with stones. This will make the traveling between the city and villages faster and more comfortable."

Sam and Jack talked a bit longer before Sam ended the call. However he didn't immediately buy the things, but he left the keep and walked towards the smithy to meet Lance.

He needed information about the red metal Jack had found. Sam thought that Lance as a blacksmith was the most likely one to know something about it.

" Hello Sam, it has been a while. I thought you would at least visit me to get your two pieces of scale armor, but you never did.

Seems they aren't really important for you after all, hahahaha!

Jokes aside, here are the scale armors."

Lance gave Sam two long sleeved shirts made of greenish scales.

( Upper Body Scale Armor [ Lizard ] +15 Defense + 10 Stamina + 10 Speed )

" This..."

" Yes! This armor is really good! It is light but extremely endurable and can be used by any class."

Sam was speechless. The stats of the scale armor were awesome, no doubt about it. He immediately changed his armor which left him with one more scale shirt.

He had already thought about it and knew who he would gift it. He put the armor into his backpack and looked at Lance again.

" Thanks a lot! This armor is really special. I have actually another reason I have come today.

In one of our villages to the north we found a strange red metal, do you know what it could be and if it is useful for us?"

Lance's eyes went wide and a small yell escaped his lips.

"You, you really found scarletite? This metal is extremely rare!

It's much more durable compared to normal steel and extremely difficult to forge. The most important thing about it is that is a great conductor of magical power, especially fire.

That means weapons and armor forged of scarletite are the best for being magically enchanted. The effects, especially the ones concerning fire are boosted when used on scarletite equipment!

We will need special tools to mine this steel. I will go to work right now! Make sure that a refreshed group of workers is ready when I'm done with the tools.

We can't waste time, otherwise this secret gets leaked and some other force will try to take this treasure!"

Lance's eyes were wide and his face flushed red, Sam could definitely see his excitement, therefore he quickly ended their conversation and returned to the keep.

He chatted with Linda on his way back.

" It's like this. I have a bunch of reward points to use and I wanted your opinion on how to spend them."

" There are a few new street stalls in the buisness street. Orkans new connections and trades get us new sorts of food. How about we quickly meet up for a snack and talk it through?"

Sam was already on the buisness street and he had seen the new stalls, therefore he agreed and met with Linda ten minutes later.

They tried some sort of bread, filled with sauce and meat, as well as skewers with vegetables. Some of them were from the old world while others weren't known to Sam and Linda. All of the dishes were delicious and not to expensive as well.

After finishing their meals, both of them were done talking about the city. Sam put down his backpack and took out the remaining piece of scale armor.

" This lizard scale armor is extremely durable and boosts your stats quite a lot. I already gave the twins something, furthermore I would feel more assured if I knew you would wear this armor."

Sam held the shirt in front of Linda, who happily smiled at him. However, she didn't take the equipment.

" I'm really happy you want to gift me this armor but I think there is a better use for it.

How about some sort of contest? Everyone should be able to participate and the grand prize is this piece of armor, the same one that our king wears!

This will greatly improve the way your citizens and soldiers see you! It also still gives me the chance to win this armor!"

Linda was still smiling, what stopped Sam from trying to change her mind. He sighed before smiling at her.

Right at this moment, the world turned dark!

' Global event " Rise of the goblin king"

The infamous goblin king has returned and with him hordes of his minions.

During the next week, every city will be attacked by multiple waves of monsters. These monsters will all be different kinds of the goblin race.

Killing goblins will give you experience, as well as event points, the stronger the goblins the more points you get. The player with the most event points at the end of the tournament will automatically rise to Level 20. There will also be other rewards like skills or equipment, depending on the rank you achieve.

The best placed guild will also be rewarded with a special prize!

A small advice:

You will be able to hide inside your walls and wait for seven days until the end of the event if you are scared to fight, however a certain percentage of the goblins will remain in your area and plunder your surroundings, even after the event ends. That's why you should at least kill a few of them everyday!
