Chapter 13- The Guests of Honor?
~ P.O.V. Of Roen ~
Currently I'm in a 8 foot by 8 foot stone suite. It's fully equipped with state of the art security, and the only downside is the service. They call this place 'jail' and it's got such great reviews that they have one in nearly every town and city. Some people even stay in the place for life! How wonderful!
I had wanted to get a great view on the show that was happening in the city at the moment, so I obviously had to get a great room from a respected inn. However my window is quite high for my current body to get a comfortable view. I kindly did a few modifications.
BOOM!
Blowing out the wall I had a magnificent panoramic of the city that I've been told is just a town.
I pulled out a white ball from my pocket. The guards to this place rudely told us to keep our clothes instead of giving us the free outfit that comes with the room. Naturally this white ball is my clothes that I feel the most comfortable in. Putting it on I hear a sound coming from the left wall.
Crack! Bang! Bang!
Turning to the noise I see my trusted servant Tyor breaking thorough his cell into mine. Recently I think he's learning to be a bit rebellious from Engil, but I'll correct him later.
"Come. Sit, the show's just about to start!" I'm a little excited myself I wonder how it'll turn out. These unexpected guests dare to parade into my fun! Not on my watch no one will ransack a village that I'm about to ransack! I had already sensed a gathering of around a couple hundred souls outside the village in the cover of trees and foliage, and seeing that they might interrupt me I asked Engil to investigate. The souls, who Engil identified as people, seem to be gearing up for a war. I had originally planned to kill a few in order to complete my clothes and gather some souls, but there's nothing wrong with letting someone else do your work.

-------------------------------------
Screams and shouts resounded through the village as men in white armor wielding various silver weapons. One can easily see they are strong and well supplied. This was not a simple raid by bandits. Unfortunately for the guards manned at the walls they did not receive the information the enemy was at the gates.
The guards fought valiantly, but it was all a futile effort. The guards were at an overwhelming disadvantage in manpower as some of them were trying to escort citizens out. It wasn't long till the gates of the city came down and the 'uninvited guests' arrived. With most of the guards killed and the rest scatter throughout the citizens, pandemonium ensued. Some parts of the city were set ablaze, there were white armored men running around stealing, raping, killing, and all the while two sets of eyes watched the this hell with unwavering attention.
Those two were naturally Roen and Tyor. Tyor gazed with emotionless eyes at the spectacle and Roen's smile soured long ago. He was staring at a man in the middle of the white armored intruders. The man wore a similarly colored robe and in his hand he held a black orb. Every so often the man would wander next to a corpse and hold the orb over it. At his actions Roen closed his eyes, and Tyor got up and started stretching. Tyor had seen his master's face change as soon as the man with the black orb arrived. He guessed that Roen was giving orders to Engil an the two phantoms.
"Tyor, kill everyone, I don't need any witnesses. Also if you can bring me ten survivors anything less is fine as well, I need at least one alive. Engil and my phantoms have started to move. Don't touch that one with the orb, he is mine. Secure the surroundings I don't wish anyone to escape."

"Your will shall be done." Giving a brief response to his master Tyor started to head outside the village gates.
"I'm sorry for not acting sooner. Maybe then you could at least have a chance to survive." Roen faced toward the village as if addressing everyone and then moved toward the man with the orb's position. Roen's clothes began to writhe like billions of worms and two bony wings sprouted out. The red sash on his waist seemed to liquify, spread to the wings and cover the spaces as if it was the webbing in the bony wings. A mask shaped like a human skull extended from his outstretched and and covered his face.
"You crash another's party uninvited, kill someone else's prey, kill innocent women and children, and most importantly you have started the party without the main guests of honor! For your crimes I issue immediate execution!"

A Castle in a Teacup
One might say that to anger forces beyond the ken of fragile breakable mortals is a bad idea, others might say that meddling in dark forces with little chance of gain is also a bad idea, they would both be right by on all counts but they forget to mention also how incredibly stupid combining both of those things are. Stupid people don’t last so long on the mystic side of things, normal folks who wander over to the other side have a tendency to do one of two things, either A. figure out that the best thing to do is keep their head down and not draw attention from any entity that refers to humanity as “you mortals” , or B. something horrifying happens to them. As you may have guessed I fell into the second category, mostly because I thought there was a third option. See I though there must be an option C, an option where I got to end up not as some shitty back ally wizard cowering at the chance of discovery, praying that one of my wards or spells wouldn’t be noticed by something that goes bump in the night. No I would be the one who rose above all that. I would never have to be afraid. Well I made a good attempt at it that’s for damn sure, but unfortunately for me it turns out there is not an option C. At least not for me…
