Rain thought as he walked along the path, amidst the forest that was teeming with life. Birds' chirps could be heard and small animals and beasts, looking like squirrels or monkeys jumping from one branch to another.

If this goes on Sylphy theorizes that once Rain had reached the 2nd Level, his overall power might actually already be comparable to that of a Lv3 elite warrior or even more. And if not accommodated, it would rebel and he would feel something scratching the back of his skin, wanting to come out, uninvited.

It’s not the matsutake of Rain’s previous world; Earth but rather a mushroom that resembles it. Nevertheless, Rain had eaten a few of them in the village; hence, he knows that it’s safe to eat. It also has some name, but since it closely resembles the Matsutake he knows, he called it out of habit. It’s rare and delicious as it is so Rain wonders if he should add it to today’s dinner.

As he harvested it with a pleased face, he starts feeling hungry, partly from thinking about dinner.

“Fancy, I just realized that it’s almost Christmas,” suddenly he muttered with a wry smile as he looks at the time and date that can be seen at the left, top corner of his smart phone’s screen.

“Days like this, I always visit the orphanage and stay there until new year’s… I wonder how Mother Superior and Uncle Glen is,”

Rain stop and look at the dark sky with a faint, nostalgic smile.

I hope they are okay…though; they surely are looking for me. However, sadly, no matter where they look, they would never find me.

[Are you missing them?]

As Rain thinks that, the monster returns and approaches once again so he avoids it. Earlier, he evaded horizontally, but he did it upward this time. He wanted to kill it quickly, before the monster starts struggling, by landing on its back rather than the ground.

With [Squall’s Silence], he stabs the middle of its forehead near the brain, magic power flowing through its blade, making it even stronger and sharper.
