V3 Chapter 60
“Elder Sister, that was a satisfying fight”
Rain muttered, satisfied as he lied on the ground, completely exhausted.
Although his complexion was pale and bruises all over his body, his face was still showing his usual smile. Of course, the result of the battle was not the reason, in fact, he should be crying and depressed right now!
Defeat!
Abject defeat!
Continuous defeats!
Rain nearly lost count of the number of defeats he had suffered in Drova's hands. He only knew that he had never won a few. Rather, not even once. He had used all of his tricks and trumps but against the golden-haired Lamian, they are proven not enough. Though, unlike before, he did come close, which pretty much already satisfied him.
Obviously, he had grown rapidly during the battle as he had expected he would have. Even Drova was appalled at the rate of his growth that is enough to shock even true geniuses and make eyeballs jump out of their sockets in disbelief.
But a loss is still a loss.
The chasm between their powers is still too wide, that even with his cheat, it's not enough to help him jump over it.
Drova's true strength is still immeasurable.
“I thought the match was only getting interesting…can you go on?”
Drova walked towards Rain at a casual pace. However, unlike before, there were now small cuts and wounds on her body, even just a little bit, he was able to hurt Drova and reach her stage, showing his incredible improvement.
Of course, these wounds are nothing to her, and can easily be healed instantly by a potion, or even, in fact, just the Lamian’s own healing powers. As a proof of that, her wounds now starting to scab, healing at a rapid rate.
“No, I'm done for today…” Rain shook his head with a faint smile. “It’s my loss,” as always. He admitted but there were no heavy emotions and feelings mixed in his tone. Rather than disappointment, he looks like an exhausted kid after playing.
“Hahaha, so be it…”
Drova sat beside him.
With a shrug, her tension and the fighting spirit vanished in thin air. Even her temperament softened.
Unlike the face of a warrior, right now she was looking at him with a bright, gentle smile. She looks like a different person than she was during their fight. Her sudden change in personality would make others doubt if she was possessed by evil spirits. After all, she’s as beautiful as one originally.
“Still, as expected of you Rain, you’ve improved leaps and bounds in the short amount of time I haven’t seen you. Your sword had reached me, and perhaps, you might have even won if this is a real battle,” she suddenly said, surprising him.
She had a suspicion that Rain still has many skills he had never displayed in their fight. She’s aware of his exceptionally, incredible ability to steal abilities from the monsters he had eaten. She’s one of those few who had known about it, after all, even if Rain didn’t say anything, for someone who had been his training partner, she had seen many strange abilities that she found familiar.
Skills and abilities that can only be possessed by monsters. That’s hard to conceal. And after devouring many powerful monsters, it would be strange if he did not obtain many incredible skills up until now.
Perhaps, if this was a real-life and death battle, and that Rain will use all those abilities in the fight, there's really a chance that she would be defeated by him.

Furthermore, there's still Magic. Rain was not a pure fighter, but a mix between magic user and fighter. And he's not just an ordinary magic-fighter hybrid as well, for his talent and mastery in both were amazingly high as well.
Though, Drova was the same, holding back. But Rain’s existence is that much of a monster to anticipate. She can also use magic, but unlike Rain, she's more inclined in sword mastery, and a little bit dumb in magic. So if it's about magic, then he surely has surpassed her already.
“Even if that’s just lip service, I’ll accept it as a compliment, thank you,” Rain smiled happily.
“I’m telling the truth, you know.” Drova sat down beside him. She extended his hand and started stroking his head, “I guess before you train your physical strength, perhaps, you rather have to train your confidence first, instead? Confidence is one of the most important factors in winning a fight. If you don’t believe in yourself, you had already lost before the fight even started,”
“... …”
Rain is bad at handling compliments, and because of that, he could only avert his eyes with an embarrassed expression. But Drova looks at him with passionate eyes.
“Be confident, Rain. You’ve become stronger…" she said with a brilliant smile on her face. "...perhaps, soon, you will be able to surpass me.”
As she said that, somehow Drova's tone was a bit weird. There's joy in her tone, but more so, worry. Though she’s happy and anticipating that day to come, within her was also anxiety she couldn’t ignore. She worried if he did, would she be unable to hold him down, and even stop him if he wanted to leave?
Surely not.
But Rain didn't seem to notice anything, and only smiled happily from the praise he got from her.
"I hope so as well," he said. "I’ll be happy if that happens. For I wouldn't be the one being protected anymore, but the one you will be able to rely on. With more power, I can protect you better.”
“Ho? Are you saying you will protect me as well?”
Drova looks at him, her unwavering eyes filled with passion, as well as a hint of pleasure.
“Of course,” Rain responded without hesitation. Why would she ask that? He wondered as he look at her straight in the eye. “You are also someone I wanted to protect, Drova. You, Lafetti, Elder Sister, and all of the people in the village. If it's not you, who else I will protect? ”
“But what if our enemies are the Humans like yourself?”
Rain stared at Drova, somewhat confused. However, his answer was already determined long ago.
“I will fight, of course,” he said without hesitation. “It doesn’t matter the differences between us, you’re the people that I want to protect, You all are now my family. And protecting one's family is natural, am I right?”
Drova smiled happily. Though, she was just trying to resolve her fears and had already expected this kind of answer, knowing him. But a part of her still felt incredibly relieved-perhaps, I just wanted to hear those particular words.
I guess I'm also a fool. Though I trust him... there's still some part of me that is deep in worry.
I can't really tease Lafetti about this anymore...
“That’s a promise, okay?”
She admired him in many ways since Rain had appeared before them. Though, indeed just like most, she felt doubtful of his existence, suspicious of his character and his true nature.

Yes. Indeed. She never thought she'd fall in love with him in the beginning. However, as time passed by, without her knowing, she had slowly forgotten about many things. Worries, she had.
He'd been super sweet in the beginning, and she actually had started to fall for him for real before she knew it.
True love. Perhaps, that's what they call it in the human world?
He is gentle, kind, talented, strong, and even more so, handsome. His eyes were very attractive that any girl could fall in love with him on the first meet. It can even attract that of not human, which of course, has different views of beauty from that of a human. He has this kind of strange but powerful charm that just attracts people, no matter what race they came from.
She even learned that not only he was intelligent and smart, he is also a well-settled person and sweet talker. Everyone in the village liked him very much. Or rather, obsessed with him as if he had used some kind of power to make them attracted to him.
But there is no such thing. And perhaps, even if there is, no one would really care. After all, he was a good person, and he treated them very well. And they love him for that. Drova was a crude person. And she knows that herself. Sometimes, she would not even act like a woman. However, he treated her like he did with anyone else. And that made her love him even more.
Love has no basis. Especially for Demi-humans. Basically, love for them is like a feeling of the pursuit of one's benefit or interest. It's rather very rare for a Demi-human to feel what humans called 'Love'. That is also the same for them. They are not an exception.
Though, perhaps at this moment, some of them had truly started to feel it. Especially, Lafetti and Zarda, and perhaps even her sister; Sarete who was more emotional and sentimental compared to her. The emotion they feel for Rain is truly the one they call 'Love'.
But Drova was certain that most of the people in the tribe were obsessed with him, only due to the pursuit of pleasure. And of course, just for the sake of their repressed feeling of oppression from their past. The existence of Rain had to feed their desire for acknowledgment and acceptance, that they feel as if there was no one else other than him that can accept them for who and what they truly are. Making him a very unique, but important treasure in their lives.
Of course, Drova didn't find anything wrong with that.
It's just that, she admits she was one of them.
Though she cared for him, it's not because of similar reasons as the others who are truly in love with him. All that she knows is that he was very important to their clan and nothing more. It was a plus that he was good, kind, and handsome. And that he treated her as if she was a normal woman.
Now, her feelings for him had slowly changed... turn into something that she had never expected it would have.
As he fought against her today, she saw him in a new light, one she’d never imagined she would. Not just her little brother, her friend, but something more. And seeing his growth, his strength, and of course, his determination something inside her blossomed. And now she realized what it was.
... ...
"It's a promise."
Rain couldn’t understand what goes inside Drova’s mind, though he didn’t mind making a promise.
“That’s great,”
Drova look at him with a loving smile, which was clearly different from the way she look at him before.
Rain even senses an ambiguous mood appearing around her. More so, when he felt the coldness as she leaned over, pasting her body on him. Her eyebrows were drawn together and her lips were pursed. She looked like she was contemplating something.
At this moment, because of their battle a few minutes ago, the string tying her hair has been broken, causing it to gather loosely behind her head and flow down her back. Though, look wild and disheveled, instead of making her look unkempt, it added another charm to her. Truly, the charm of a Lamian is incredibly hard to resist.
“Drova?”
Rain asked, hoping that nothing was wrong.
“I feel… weird?” suddenly, she muttered with a faint sigh.
“Weird what?” he asked, somewhat surprised. Something is really wrong with her.
“It’s…ah, I see, so that time finally came…” she muttered incoherently.
"Time, what time? —"
Rain asked worriedly—However, he suddenly stopped talking as he saw her state. It was evident in her eyes. More so, Drova’s beautiful body is currently flushed in pink, giving off the scent of a woman. Just looking at her expression made him understand immediately what was going with her.
That scent! Rain almost grunted. His nostrils flared, tasting the air, his heart suddenly racing as each breath sent waves of sensation coursing through him, igniting his core. It was clear that Drova, at this moment, was releasing a kind of dangerous scent that was affecting his mind and even more so, something else entirely.
She bit her lip as she lustfully look at him, her face flushed in bright red. “...though, I said that it feels somewhat different this time. However, it doesn’t seem unpleasant. Stronger… well, I don’t think it’s that bad. However.”
She started grumbling incoherently, while her face, dying in red, displayed a mischievous grin. Rain gulped, and the corner of his lips twitched, as he saw her looking at him with a look of hunger in her eyes that seemed wholly out of place. Despite himself, it turned him on to see the way she was looking at it, and he saw the hunger in her eyes increase as she crawled over, and closer to him.
Still, he didn't move... as if he was petrified. Well, indeed he is. The scent she was releasing at this moment was like an aphrodisiac to men. It's a pheromone that they start to exude when they are in their particular 'state'. And that no matter how strong a man's control of himself, one whiffed of this scent, and they will be turned into a real 'beast'. And he was no exception.
“... Perhaps, it's because of you, Rain” she gave a seductive smile, then suddenly, without any warning, pulled his hand onto her breasts.
"...?!"
"Did you feel that? That growing hunger...?"
For this training attire which prominently displayed her breasts, Drova was not wearing anything, though he was certain he had already introduced that sacred cloth– hence when he touched those breasts that were almost spilling out, he was somewhat surprised—
…Ah…
Rain realized that the tips of the golden-haired Lamian’s breasts were already swollen and stiff. The sudden sexual urges that assaulted her, as well as the anticipation of what they will do, already made her excited to this extent.
While he was a bit surprised by her sudden bold action, Drova didn’t stop right there, and her right hand snaked down along his stomach. Her fingers brushed past his pants, entered, and then went straight down to his privates.
“...?!”
Rain’s eyes widened even more, his mouth widening on her sudden strange actions. But then, he felt her fingers curl around his girth and gave him a light squeeze. Soft callused fingers with a careful grip. She cradled him in her palm and brushed a thumb over his tip. The whisper of the touch made his skin prickle. His breath caught between his teeth as his heart lurched.
“Drova... I think we can stop right now before things go out of control," he said, his tone not convincing at all. It was clear that he was also anticipating what she wanted to do.
“It’s… it’s okay,” she said absently, her attention locked on his slowly growing member, getting another
inch longer as she grasped it. “This is a reward from me, Rain,” With her free hand, she lightly swatted his hand back and then pointedly looked into his eyes, “Let me,”
“I’m honored, but you know, I think what you’re doing, it’s because of…you know, what it is,” he said as he felt her fingers gently squeeze him, the firm flesh of her hand sliding upwards before releasing him.
For a warrior, her touch was surprisingly gentle. Her nails, a little longer than a man's, grazed up and down along the underside of his length. The simple unexpectedness of the touch made it jerk in response, and he groaned. Still, he tried to keep himself from growing berserk.
“We both know that’s all it is. Look, I mean, you also don’t want it to be like this, right?”
Drova made a light and joyful laugh in response to that.
“Oh, Rain. I’m glad you said that and flattered even. Hearing you worrying about me, makes my heart race. But…that would have worked back before you touched Miyabila.” she grinned like a playful child.
“...?!”
She smiled mischievously, as she guided his hand and squeezed the hand that was holding her breast.
“Yeah, we all know...especially your little play yesterday. And besides, you don’t need to worry at all. It might be because of the instinct instilled within me, but I am still in control. My urge could never control me like how it would to the others,” she said. “You know me, and you understand me…this is my own free will…just thinking, perhaps, it’s about time to do this,”
The last part she said wasn’t muffled at all.
Looking at her, Drova’s beautiful eyes were clear, though her face was red. But indeed, there’s no hint of intoxication that portrays any kind of influence her drastic sexual drive was having on her. And this made Rain a little bit relieved.
“See? No strange urging burning within me to devour you. This is pure interest on my part now,”
Devour… Rain, smiling wryly let out a sigh. Her choice of words still horrifies him in other strange ways. Still, when he saw her beautiful eyes, she immediately stole him away, the greens of her slitted irises slowly taking over the ashy pupils with a faint glow. There goes that charming magic that all Lamians seem to have.
As if reading his mind, and his growing desire, Drova let out a mischievous chuckle. She then slowly unbuckled his belt, opened his pants, and stroke her hand on his thigh. Rubbing it slowly.
Again his body betrayed him, immediately responding to the soft sensuous touch of the beautiful Lamian Warrior. Her hand closed around him once more, and with another squeeze of her hand, he’d gone to full attention, his member standing fully erect.
Rain looks at Drova with a helpless smile, his heart beating rapidly. He shook off the sexual fog she’d knocked him into and let out a sigh. Nothing to lose, anyway. The first time he had seen Drova, he’d caught his breath. She was very stunning in an incredible way.
She’s fierce, like a true warrior, but when it comes to comfort, she’s gentle as any other. It felt as if she had two different personalities within her. Sometimes reliable, and strong, sometimes gentle- but more so, she’s truly an incredible woman that any guy would surely fall madly in love with.
Well, for someone like him who was susceptible to a woman’s temptation, she’s a hard subject to ignore.
