《I shall seek revenge》Chapter 2 - Busted

Six months later.
Life went on, but for me it was a bit more full than most. I could already read and write but only recently was able to begin vocalize words. I also managed to start walking, yup no crawling for me, out the door and off running with a start. For starters I was able to sneak out the door of the nursery and down to my father’s study.
I had to climb up on a chair to reach his mana ball. A mana ball is just a crystal ball but it has the unique ability to read how much mana a person has. The average person has about a thousand, really powerful people tend to be in the range of ten to twenty thousand. Meh, as far as mine goes, I saw the number reach up to a million before the crystal cracked in half and then fell to the floor and shattered. Hmm, looks like those Gods weren’t lying.
Well I’m much too young to start practicing magic so I’ll stick to some basic martial arts. It’s never too early to start some basic breathing techniques and exercises. A short time later, my father came in the room to see me looking through one of his books.
“Hiro, that seems a bit advanced for you, no? Let’s look at some picture books instead?” he said as he reached down to close the book but stopped when he noticed the shattered mana ball. “Whaaaaa!!! What happened?”
“Sorry Dad, I broke it by mistake,” I replied with a shake of my head.
Suddenly his head swiveled sharply and he stared at me with a his jaw on the proverbial floor.
‘Eh oops?’ I forgot that six month old babies don’t talk, walk perhaps but talk no. “Uh, Gaga goo goo??”

Dad stood there like a mannequin for a few moments before rushing to the door.
“ALICIA!!!!” he shouted at the top of his lungs. Soon there was a pattering of feet and Mom appeared at the door followed by a group of soldiers. The soldiers upon seeing that it was just the Duke and his son in the room and no one else, they stepped back out and closed the door.
“Caden, what are you bellowing my name for? Are you trying to wake the dead?”
“Alicia, cast an anti-surveillance spell for this room please.”
Mom looked at him with a frown before turning to mutter some words and then wave her hand. A film of mana coated everything in the room before shimmering once and disappearing.
“Ok, it’s done. Now what’s this all about?”
Dad turned to me and grinned. “Go ahead Hiro and show your Mother.”
‘Well the cat was out of the bag and I figured that if anyone was to know a bit of my secret my parents would probably be the safest.’
I looked at Mother and grinned, “Uh, hi Mama?”
My mother’s jaw hit the ground as well. It was going to be interesting.
