I open my eyes. It's morning. I can hear people outside the tent. I rub my eyes, stretch and yawn. A lot happened yesterday. Let's have a quick recap.

Me and Mike saved two damsel in distress, check.

We saved a whole caravan from going bankrupt, check.

We will get equipment and money as thanks, check.

We held a feast with lots of tasty food and rich alcohol to celebrate, check.

I look at my left to see the sleeping face of Sena. I am simply amazed by the difference between this peaceful face and the erotic face she was making last night. "You okay Roy?"

[Yeah... Yeah I am. Just had a bit too much liquor.]

"Going to sleep?"

[Not yet. I am a bit tired, but not exhausted.]

I have been asked this very same question by every guard except Guru and Rohit, by every non-guard except the younger cook. Seems getting rewards for doing things is common around here. You do dangerous things, you get nice rewards. You do even more dangerous things, you get even nicer rewards.

[Before I answer your question, will you answer one of my question?]

"Sure."

[Did you ask Alice and other people in the caravan about us? About who we are, what we are, what we know, anything along this path?]

".......Yes."

[Then Sena, you should already have answer to your question. But just to be clear, I will say it again. Me and Mike are not your normal people. We have different sense of value from what you consider common. Alice needed help, so we gave her our help. Maybe the help was not given in the way she intended, but we wanted the best possible outcome. And the best possible outcome is annihilation of whole bandit group along with their leader, and freeing you two without any casualties.]

"(Silently crying)....... But that....... It's just that...... it's sounds too good to be true."

[(Gently stroking her cheek) better believe it Sena. Every word I have spoken is true.]

"(Coming closer and hugging) .... Thank you Roy. Thank you for everything you have done for us."

I push Sena down on the floor and hold her down by her wrists. She resists a bit, but soon calms down and looks at me fearfully.

This town's name is 'The Hub'. The Hub is a major trading city and settlement established in an old town relatively untouched by the Great War. Caravans are organized here, carrying goods north to Shady Sands, Junktown, and south to the Boneyard. It houses a large community of traders, barterers, gamblers, and other interesting scum. The wide variety of people passing through ensures that there is always something interesting going on.

Anywho, at last we finally reached a town.
