《Terror Explored (a terror infinity fanfic)》Battle Exchanges part 1

“Time to pay up,” Louie spoke suddenly, stepping in front of Lance.
Logan and Eve continued walking, leaving Josh with his stepbrother
“That’s right,” Lance smirked “You did remarkably well in this movie.”
“So you’re going to get me a top tier sniper right,” Louie questioned
“A top tier sniper would cost more than the entire team made this movie,” Lance said “I will get you the best sniper I can afford at the moment.”
“Whatever,” Louie shrugged “As long as I’m getting a cool gun”
“Why don’t you take some time to look through the exchange system?” Lance offered, “Tomorrow we’ll work out what to buy.”
“Sounds good” Louie nodded and took a step to walk away
“Louie, wait,” Josh said, stopping the teen “I just want to make sure you’re feeling alright after unlocking”
“It’s weird,” Louie admitted “My thoughts are going faster. I’m noticing a lot more than I’m used to”
“Exciting isn’t it” Lance said with a grin
“I guess,” Louie shrugged “We’ll see after I try it out awake”
The following morning Josh woke early and quickly made his way to God. Josh wasn’t the first to wake, however Skye, Lance, and Eve were already awake and standing under God. Dale, Crystal, and Matt stood some space from Skye’s group. Josh walked to Stepbrother first and greeted everyone.
“What are you thinking about exchanging?” Josh asked Skye.
He knew the teen was already extremely powerful. Josh couldn't be sure what she would need to grow further.
“I already decided.” Skye smiled and waved her hand.
Vampire Baron
Slightly alters the human body to mutate into a vampire’s biology. Grants access to Blood energy and Blood magic. Boosts Cell Vitality, Immunization, Mental Capacity, Muscle Density. Minor Boost to Intelligence, Reaction Speed. Cost D rank reward and 800 points.
“You want to be a vampire?” Josh asked, “Did your dad recommend this?”
Skye let out a hearty laugh “No, my dad would not approve. That’s why I’m doing it,”
“Your dad has a problem with vampires?” Josh asked, getting another laugh out of Skye.
“He has a problem with one,” Skye said
“Did you find the skill you wanted?” Lance asked
“I did!” Skye said “I can cover most of it, but I’m short 500 points and a D rank reward.”
“What skill are you getting?” Josh asked “You got a lot of points didn’t you?”

“I only earned a few hundred more points than you,” Skye said “If we want to get actual skills, we’re going to need way more points”
As Skye spoke, she waved her hand and shared the information with the group.
Mind Compulsion
Using blood energy forces a weaker mind to obey your commands. The amount and potency of a user's blood energy affects how easily a target can resist compulsion. Requires blood energy. Cost C rank reward and 3000 points.
“You’re learning mind control?” Josh asked skeptically. He hadn’t known Skye long, but he had found she preferred hands on actions.
“Absolutely,” Skye nodded “I've found problems fists can’t solve me would be easy if I could force people to do what I want”
“Of course,” Josh said “Wait, didn’t Logan say that mind control falls under a psyche force user”
“There is a mind control ability for psyche force users,” Lance nodded, “but we’ve already spoken with Elijah and he’s not interested”
“What were his words exactly?” Skye asked Eve,
Eve lifted a paper on her clipboard and read aloud, “Fuck that. I’m already playing messenger. I'm not watching your hypnotized peasants,”
“I like that guy,” Skye smirked
“There's a first time for everything,” Lance said
“Do you have the cost covered?” Josh asked.
“That’s why we wanted to see you,” Lance said “We’re just short 500 points”
“I can help with that,” Josh nodded “Will a bloodline help you much?”
“The stat bonuses are nice,” Skye said, “but blood energy is what I’m looking forward to getting. Just wait until you see what blood magic can do”
“I’m certainly looking forward to it.” Lance smiled
“Lets get these exchanges done then,” Skye cheered.
Exchanging for the vampire bloodline was the same as always. A series of particles came flying from God and into Skye. Exchanging for the skill, however, gave everyone a surprise as a rolled up scroll appeared above Skye. The teen reached up and barely touched the scroll before it disintegrated into ash.
“That didn’t happen when Elijah exchanged his skill,” Lance noted out loud
“What do you think that means?” Josh asked, not interested in making guesses
“I’m not sure,” Lance mused “Could mean blood magic didn’t originate with God. Someone else did the research and practice then had all the spells programmed into God.”
“We will need to see if other exchanged skills have a scroll or not,” Eve said

By this point, Skye had returned to the ground and was staring into space. Her eyes occasionally faded to a blood red color before returning to normal.
“How’s it going?” Josh asked Skye,
“A little underwhelming,” Skye admitted “I need to test it a bit but I don’t think I’ll be able to command someone five times before I’m drained”
“That could make all the difference in the next movie,” Lance said “We’ll no doubt have to deal with the nazis in our mission. Getting just one general to follow our commands gives us a lot of power”
“Speaking of power, what are you exchanging for?” Josh interrupted.
Lance smirked and gave an exaggerated wave.
God’s Papyrus novice rank
A copy of the holy artifact. Creates whatever the wielder has an immense understanding of. Limited to nonliving items less than a yard in size. Requires Faith energy. Cost C rank reward and 4000 points.
“For this round I’m just getting my papyrus to C rank,” Lance answered “What will you be getting?”
“I’m going to help everyone make their exchanges first,” Josh answered
“Don’t forget to make exchanges for yourself,” Lance chided “Spend some points on yourself before helping anyone else”
“I know,” Josh said “I’m raising all my stats by twenty at the minimum”
All conversation came to a halt as a massive form appeared beneath God. A giant gust of frigid air slammed into Josh as a monstrous roar sounded. An icy blue reptilian beast with a long neck and tail stood looking down at Crystal. The appearance of the brontosaurus was shocking enough, but the ice slowly growing on the ground around the beast added to the surprise.
“Eve, did you get a pet?” Skye asked teasingly
“This one’s mine,” Crystal said.
With a wave of her hand, Crystal returned the monster to its card form. Josh, Skye and Eve closed in on the summoner to learn more about her newest monster. Lance stepped over to Matt and Dale, who were speaking to a newly awoken Logan.
“What was that?” Josh asked with awe in his voice.
“The Frostosaurus,” Crystal said, “Probably the strongest monster I can afford on my own”
With a wave, Crystal sent the information to the small group.
Frostosaurus
A summoning card that summons the ancient monster Frostosaurus. Requires Heart of the Summoner to safely control. Mentally taxing on the user to summon and control. The monster's aura can harm users. Cost C rank reward and 2600 points.
“That’s epic!” Skye said “Bring him back out! I want to see how strong he is.”
“Maybe in a few days,” Crystal said “I need more practice before using him in a fight. I also need to boost my mental capacity as much as possible”
“This’ll be great to use against enemy teams,” Josh said “It could control the ice?”
“It’s more like a permanent aura of frost,” Crystal explained “I’m hoping to use him at a distance and keep my giant for close combat”
“That’s really cool,” Josh said “You’re going to have a personal army of monsters soon”
“That’s the goal,” Crystal smiled “I want to get a flying monster next, something big enough to carry me”
“That's a great idea,” Skye approved “Transportation is one thing our team is weak in. Wish we had the points to get some kind of vehicle”
“Lance intends to purchase one if they have the funds,” Eve said “We want individual enhancement to come first”
“Hope we have enough for something that can fit us all,” Josh said, looking over to where Lance was speaking with Dale.
“What other monsters do you want to get?” Skye asked Crystal
Josh left the group to see how Dale was adjusting.
Josh approached Dale, Matt, Lance, and Logan just in time to watch Dale get lifted into the air in a beam of light. Particles flew from God, signalling the young man’s enhancement.
“What is Dale getting?” Josh asked as he approached.
“He wanted a physical enhancement,” Logan said “We got him something fitting”
With a wave of his hand, the leader shared the information with Josh.
Low Level Qi
Gives access to Qi within one’s body to temporarily boost to stats. Boosts Cell Vitality, Muscle Density, Reaction speed. Minor Boost to Immunization, Mental Capacity. Cost D rank reward and 500 points.
“Another front-line fighter?” Josh asked.
“Lance and I are expecting the team will be spread thin this movie,” Logan said. “Doesn't hurt to get one more brawler”
“He’s spending the rest of his points on raising his Muscle Density and Reaction speed,” Matt added
“I see some potential in him,” Logan said “He has a powerful spirit”
“Hopefully it's enough to handle Raiders of the Lost Ark,” Matt declared
