《Painting Horrors》My Own Path

"Why aren't you satisfied with this painting? Gabriel you've done such a good job what makes you so unsatisfied with this?" This warm and sweet loving voice traveled across the quiet room. A very mature and good looking woman was standing behind a young man who looked very innocent, she stared at the paint brush he was holding and the beautiful canvas. The young man by the name of Gabriel was very irked by her comment, this was the 20th canvas he has done but he just couldn't get it right. "The painting is so beautiful, look at it, I'm sure even a small king wouldn't mind to hire you as his painter." The woman was right the canvas that the young man painted was beautiful, but the young man couldn't but differ to the opinion. "I simply don't know whats wrong with the canvas, I can tell it looks good, but.. It just doesn't feel like it is grabbing into my soul." Replied Gabriel dimly. The woman breathed a sigh, she had been his mentor for a year and a half about now, and she can tell that this young student of her has great talent but he just doesn't recognize it. "Why don't you go for a break, I'm sure you feel tired, you have been painting for 3 hours by now." The young man nodded and simply left the room. There was the sound of a door opening and the young man was out of the house.
"I don't get it! What is wrong with my painting! I've done everything I could possibly but it doesn't grab at my soul!" Gabriel was walking down a road of dried mud and he was walking back to his house, the citizens of the small town were looking at him strangely, as he was in a huff. He walked back to his house which was of very higher quality than the rest of the villagers, whose house were just made out of dried mud and hay to cover their house. He had bricks and stones to make up his house and the roof. He walked to his door, put in his key and opened the door and locked it again. He just stood at the entrance of the door, and then collapsed. When he eventually woke up again he was covered in his own sweat, he was very exhausted from painting for 3 hours straight with no food and water during the session. He washed up and made food for himself after he woke up, and went to his room where he locked the door. He then took out a picture from his pocket in his pant, and stared at it. "Why can't I feel it anymore? When I first saw this picture It grabbed at my soul, it felt like I was in an empty abyss, but now I feel nothing!" He screamed crazily while staring at a blank picture. Gabriel has been hiding a secret from his teacher for a long time, the reason why he wanted to be an artist wasn't because he had an appreciation of the beauty of the world like he told his teacher, it was because of this picture he deemed super natural instead. As he gazed out the window he realized that night was about to fall. He put the picture back into his pocket and went to sleep on his bed.

While he was dreaming he saw himself, but this version of himself looked very crazed like he was deranged lunatic. He was covered in blood but he didn't give off the feeling of being a crazed murderer it was more of like someone who has been stuck on an equation for a long time but he finally had an epiphany and solved the problem. Gabriel was fascinated with this other version of himself, he wanted to be just like him, someone who finally got what he wished for. He craved for this, he wanted to create drawings that will strike at the people's soul. He walked toward the other version of himself, it was very weird scene as two men who looked exactly the same looked at each other in this dark place, the only thing that they could see was each other. The bloodied version of himself stared at him and then smiled, he talked but no sound came out of his mouth, but from his lips Gabriel could understand that the other version of himself was saying "I found my path." The bloodied version of himself then attacked him and shoved his fingers through Gabriel's eyes and throughout his skull. His head exploded into a bloodied mist.
Gabriel shot up from this terrifying dream of his but he didn't feel terror instead he felt... Enlightened! "I did it! I finally found what I was searching for this entire time!" He laughed crazily, inside the bedroom by himself. It was a good thing that his house was built with noise cancellation or else he would have woken up the entire town.
There was a knocking on a door at the middle of the night. Melody woke up from her sleep in terror. "Who could be knocking on my door in the middle of the night." She wondered nervously as sweat glanced down her face. She dressed into her clothes and went to the kitchen to grab a dull knife and walked toward the knocking. "Who is it!" She shouted loudly. The knocking stopped and it felt like the entire world went into a still silence. Suddenly the silence was broken by a young man's voice who sounded very excited. "Teacher I found what I've been looking for this entire time!" When Melody heard this she breathed a sigh of relief, it was just her student Gabriel. She went and open the door for him, and she noticed that the young student of his looked very crazed, he was a very good looking man, he had blue eyes and was 5'11. He ruined his own looks by looking depressed and gloomy all the time but at this moment he looked very frantic. She was wondering what he could be doing this late at night at her house, but she suddenly remembered what he said, and was very excited for him. She thought that maybe this young student of his finally found what he had been looking for the entire time, she wanted him to walk his own path and be successful. Suddenly she felt pain at her torso, and couldn't help but be shocked at she stared. She had been stabbed by a cold weapon that reflected under the moonlight. "I'm so excited of this path I'm about to walk on thank you teacher, as for my appreciation let me paint you." She collapsed and was still under shock and belief as she stared at this young student of her who looked suddenly very different. She eventually bled out from her stab wound.

Gabriel looked at his dead teacher's body but he didn't feel guilt or and pity instead he was very excited. He took out his canvas and went to his teacher's body and dabbed his paint brush on her open wound, he started drawing with her blood. It was an hour later that he finally completed the drawing, the canvas looked very cursed and gave off a bloodied smell, but Gabriel couldn't care at this moment, he was so happy that words couldn't describe the joy he was feeling right now. He stared at the canvas it was of his teacher, nothing looked wrong with the painting in fact it was a very beautiful drawing but it felt like the eyes of her teacher was staring at him with such heavy resentment. "Oh the path that I've chosen will be the one that I've been looking for ever since I laid my eye on that picture, I wish everyone to experience the feeling of a painting dragging in their soul, I now have the skill to do that! Although elementary I'm sure with time and practice I'll become a master." He grinned, and suddenly as he was tilting his canvas to his teacher's body a white mist came off the dead body, it resembled his teacher and it went to his canvas.

Pocket Dungeon Lite
Based on the Pocket Dungeon original novel made by Stuckin (I asked for his permission beforehand). I do not know if this could count as a fanfiction as I made up many elements on the go so, for now, I will list this as an original but if Stuckin-sama would like me to change it I will be fine with doing so. This is somewhat of a self-insert but I made sure not to make the MC to OP. Also, the creator of the cover is Vurguy I tried to contact him to ask for permission but couldn't due to technical issues please go support him on Deviant Art and I don't own the picture so if he wants me to take it down than I am completely okay with doing so. As I am an improving author, I am glad to receive any constructive criticism or critical review I just hope that everyone will give me a chance before they yell at me for something or at least tell me what made them angry so I know what the issue is and can figure out how to deal with it. For now, my schedule is 1-2 chapters a week and if I am busy with either work or school 1-3 chapters every 2 weeks. I expect a bunch of chapters at the beginning around 5 or so and for me to continue from there. I will try my best to keep some chapters in storage for any time where I can't write for whatever reason. I will continue to change this part of the synopsis if anything changes in my update schedule. - From a thoughtful Author Pocket Dungeon is a widespread interstellar game that has captivated the attention of many races and civilizations. Nowadays in the 2300s anyone not living under a rock would grow up with a dungeon and learn to manage it over time as they make mistakes along the way. But as all things go there is always an exception and this exception can be found in Nadezhda Ledopad who had an overprotective family that didn't let him interact with anything but those they deemed worthy and safe. This overprotectiveness caused them to forbid him from gaining a pocket dungeon as they knew with his intelligence and specialties in certain fields he would become a strong dungeon master, quickly. This was something his family was very much against as they knew that his competitiveness and duty to maintain the Ledopad family's reputation would push him to win in the competitions that he would inevitably get invited too. This all changed when Nadezh graduated high school and moved to the Celestial Plane capital star as a Prodigal student in planetary conservation (major) and revival of species through DNA transferal (minor). His brother in all but blood Tet schemed to get him into Pocket Dungeons when they got there as no one would keep Nadezh from playing. Nadezh excited to join his peers in this famous game looked forward to doing so. But with this one decision, many futures changed and the Fates laughed as people of strong destinies meet together on this plane. Warning - This will probably contain LGBT+ relationships. You have been warned, I will not tolerate stupidity to the ninth degree in the comment section and I hope that people can be logical enough to GO AWAY if they don't like this kind of thing. If you don't feel comfortable with mature or explicit scenes I will put a warning in the chapters or parts with such and I just wanted all of you to know that this will be a long novel as with most novel I will write in the future so don't expect a deep romantic relationship anytime soon.
