It’s a natural instinct for most humans and animals to find safety when they feel threatened.

That is why most of them have something called fight or flight response to help them distinguish which is safe to fight and which should be ignored and run away.

In cases of battles, many strategist and military leaders would try to make use of this and even abuse it to their own advantage.

Many even tried to fool it just so that they could make their soldiers fight better.

Training, drills, rewards, armors and weapons. They all try to implement things which could make their soldiers feel more safe and be able to fight even battles that they know should have been impossible.

But like all things that we have. It all have their own limitations. Training for example can be made useless by others such as armor. After all, your training doesn’t mean much if you can’t even pierce your enemy in battle.

Rewards wouldn't also help an army defeat a more prepared army. So on and so forth.

Because of this limitations, many minds wasn't satisfied so they keep finding a more useful tactic to make their soldiers feel safer. Something that doesn’t have a weakness, or at least something with the least weakness as much as possible.

One of such that they found is words.

When they used it, they found out that it was super effective.

Like, super effective!

It’s versatility is so immense that some wars can even be won even with just words.

Words can be used in many aspects like a way to connect people from different groups, it could also be used to threaten other people and make them submit.

In battles, it could be used as a way to raise morale which eases the mind of the soldiers fighting.

Many also used it to demonize the enemy which will help their soldiers to kill their foes without much issue.

Assurance, promises, rewards and so much more.

There’s literally limitless use to it.

But as said, although words might have unlimited uses. The users on the other hand is a different thing to consider.

Yes, it has limitless use but it’s not like they know all that unlimited uses.

The one who uses it are people after all, not an omniscient God.

Even in those limitless use, there’s also chances that it wouldn’t work. Or perhaps a wrong choice of usage.

You can use it with unlimited possibility, yes but success is another thing.

Clearance, language barrier, misunderstanding. There are also an unlimited amount of limitations in it.

Many were left unsatisfied. As long as humans could lives, they are going to continue to find new things that could help them

It doesn’t mean that they are not going to use the other solutions that they have found.

It’s just that they will find a new way that would be able to compliment the other solutions that is already in use. One of this new solution that they found is music.

There's nothing really special to music. Like all the others, music also has its own limits.

When asking people about their thoughts on music, most people wouldnt even be able to find uses to it in battles. They would just see it as sntertainment.

Why it is the main point though and not the more known weapon which is words is pretty simple. It is that Music is something not many have thought off in terms of its effects in Human mind and the uses of it in war.

Music as an option in war is like that person that exist but is always forgotten. And this is why it's special.

Soldiers are always on stress and music is an effective way to relieve it.

Music could also help in synchronization of soldiers more coherent.

Like words, music can also make people feel safe. It is said that some people feel more at ease while singing. They forget their problems and through that, feel more at ease.

In terms of military use. With the sound of the marching music, soldiers will feel more confident.

Although mostly forgotten, someone did prove that using music in battle to be effective. A once loosing battle could said to even be won using just music.

In the battle between the Colis Empire and the Kingdom of Numero. It is said that both sides tried to use their own way in this regard when the negotiations didn't go well for the two sides.

In this battle, they basically use their own music as weapons. Weapons that would kill others.

For the Empire, they used drums. It’s original purpose is to make their soldiers move with more uniformity but the person who have thought of this have another thought in mind.

When he noticed that his soldiers are all scared when going into battle even though he already secured most of the things they need, he immediately think of something to counter this.

At this time, most of the Empire’s troops that he handles are all beginners.

They’re basically virgins in battle. So even with the training and weapons. Many of them still feel nervous and unsafe. Unconfident of their skills in combat and the fear to die.

In an actual battle, the General thought that this might became a problem. So he ought to find something to solve it.

One day, while he is trying to study. He noticed that he is always getting distracted from his thoughts when he hears the drums of the soldiers in training. And through that, he thought of something.

That is to use music.

With the combination of the drums and marching, he also thought of training his soldiers of a synchronized march to a specific music which is said to have been effective.

So effective that they didn’t even notice that their enemy is already so close to them.

The first battle in which they use this tactic is when they suddenly got attacked by an enemy. Many of his soldiers wasn't even able to complete their full course in training before they were sent to the their first battle.

When the battle came, their General placed their best soldiers at the back. This caused the soldiers at the front to suddenly become so focused at their march that they have reached their enemy without even noticing it.

After all, when they saw how the elite soldiers at the back are marching, they got scared at being stomped that all they can do is to focus their mind on marching.

What happened after was a disaster!

But like the frontline of the Empire’s army. The soldiers of the enemy too became scared of their way of marching that both sides fought confused.

When the Empire’s army miraculously won that battle, the Empire’s march became known as the symbol of the Empire.

Many copied it until the finally unified Empire implemented it their national army.

The Empire’s March that will became part of their history is said to have the purpose of two.

One is that it makes it's soldiers proud and the last is that it brought fear to all the hostiles to the empire.

For the kingdom on the other hand, it was their song. It was said that this song originated from the villages close to the border between the empire and the kingdom.

When the commander of the Kingdom's Elite army heard it while he was with his troops, he noticed how one of his troops which originally came from the empire got shaken by the song.

When he saw that, he immediately thought of using it as a battle song for the kingdom.

The battle song was first used in the first major battle between the empire and the kingdom in a long while which saw both sides fighting each other again after the century of peace they have.

In this battle, the Empire marched through the plains using their usual march while the kingdom’s troops were just standing on the opposite side, waiting for them to come.

Unlike the Empire which made up most of its troops with heavily trained soldiers.

Most of the kingdoms troops were all just levies that is trained for just half a year when the kingdom saw the inevitable war between the kingdom and the empire.

When the kingdom’s soldiers saw the marching of the empire, they were easily amazed and mesmerized by the fluid motion of their moves.

Though when the empire close in. They remembered who their enemies are that the earh that was shaking because of the Empire's March was doubled by the Kingdom's.

And when they heard the sound of the drums of the Empire. Another form of fear is added inside their body and mind.

They suddenly felt nervous and almost everyone is shaking. Many were suddenly struck by a question if they could even defeat the Empire.

But suddenly, a shout is heard from the back and is passed all through the Kingdom’s line.

After that noise was the sudden start of a song that most of the kingdom’s troops were familiar with.

It was the song which they all sang in the whole six months training that they have.

Many were confused but even with that, all still joined and sang.

Some of them didn’t even know why they’re singing, but even with that they continued and participated.

The sound of the word “DEATH” and “ENEMY” were repeated all throughout the kingdom’s lines.

Normally, if a groups of people sing a song like this which is made up of thousand of people. They wouldn’t be able to synch at all.

But somehow, all of them sang like one, their voices in synch with each other.

Then suddenly as they continue to sang, the earth that was moving suddenly stop.

It’s like the Earth which was against them early on suddenly decided to stop to listen to them sing.

But alas it wasn’t the Earth stopping but the Empire’s march suddenly halting because of the sudden happening.

"When do you plan to start anyway?"

"I'm just waiting for my subordinate to appear. I guess at any moment now."

"Hahh... are you still planning something kid?"

"No, no, we're really just waiting for that person!"

"Hmp! It's not like I have a choice anyway..."

"Yeah, yeah, just treat it like that."

"You know, now that I see it. You made our army look like some construction workers didn't you?"

"Hahahaha! Aren't they free most of the time anyway? They should atleast know how to make their own houses!"

"Then what about the kingdom, you make them look like a singing band!"

"Didn't your soldiers love their performance?"

"I guess they do! Hahahaha! Your soldiers gave them a really great performance that they will never forget! Hahahaha!"

...

After the kingdom's soldiers finished their song. The sound of the drums of the empire continued.

The march also continued but stopped again after just a short period of time.

It was like a joke or a bluff but looking it up on a different way, it stabilized the morale of the soldiers who were suddenly scared or left in awe by the singing presented by the kingdom.

To say the least in the point of view of the Kingdom's generals. It was effective.

After that sudden stop, a chain of trumpet sounds were heard in the Empire's side.

When it ended, the Empire's soldiers started running without loosing the line made by the soldiers.

Normally, it should have been a free for all in case where a massive group of people started running together but somehow, the Empire was able to make it's soldiers run with cohesion and never break its line.

'The Empire's soldiers are making a charge towards us!'

The soldiers of the kingdom who just finished their singing, started readying up their shield as they try to ready themselves up when they saw the enemy charging at them.

But, as they were readying up. An order reverberated from the back through the front and the shout of "Charge" was heard.

Because of that, the kingdom's soldiers starting from the front to the back started to run also towards the charging enemy.

Two armies are now running towards each other and in one moment. A big clash of shields happened.
