Chapter 4: Only Death

Demon girl POV:

It's been 10 years since she had come to this world and yet the girl she rescued yesterday was the first human she had met in this world.

Although she knew humans were living at the foot of the mountain, she never mettle with them in fear she would be misunderstood and also in order not to accidentally lead someone to the village in case someone were to sense her demonic aura.

When she thought about her meeting with the girl she saw her fears come true. Even though she never did anything bad to a human, the girl feared her. But it was only normal for the girl to fear demons. After all, almost her whole race has been eliminated by them.

And to be honest. Would she herself believe someone whose kind preyed on her just to have some fun?

The girls couldn't possible know that she was a descendant of a clan of demons that always liked humans. There were even legends of them being the servants of godlike human cultivators.

But this times where long lost and they vanished from her old world together with the rest of humanity. In this new world the humans didn't know the concept of cultivation.

In reality her clan even tried to teach some humans demonic cultivation techniques but sadly they weren't able to train them and the clan invoked the fury of the other demons.

Her clan that had once been one of the strongest lost its glory in the flow of time and its descendants also became rare.

Her clan was also the cause she lived in this remoted area. Because of their rareness and the fact that they once allied with humans, they were often preyed upon and some strong demon cultivator wanted to make them theirs’ pets.

Suddenly the demon girl felt the presence of another demon coming from the direction of the human village.

„Oh shit, someone found it. “

She quickly made her way from the top of the mountain flying through the thick forest.

While flying through the ancient looking forest some thoughts came to her.

It shouldn't be possible for someone to accidentally find the village while passing by. The area is really desolated and thousands of miles away from the next city. There also no treasures you could find that would benefit ones training. So just what is this person looking for?

When she got into the vicinity of village she heard loud cries and some mad laughter resounding in the area.

As she got into the village she only saw corpses lying across the village. Some were just a bloody mess you couldn’t distinguish others were beheaded while few were just pierced by multiple arrows.

The only exception was an elder still lying there and spasming.

The demon girl quickly scanned the surrounding for survivors. The whole village that had been so full of live was now a ghost town without a single living person.

Just when the girl wanted to give up the search she thought of the girl that she rescued yesterday. She quickly scanned the area looking for her body but could not find it.

Happily she widened her scanning range and quickly found her. She was only a few hundred meters away. But the bad thing was that the demonic aura was also coming from this direction.

She frowned and quickly shot of heading to the human girl.

As she came to the place, she once again saw a scene of slaughter.

There where body parts randomly scattering the whole area and clad in green man holding something in his hands.

On second glance she saw it was the head of the human girl she had rescued.

„Hahaha, finally you are here Jerna clan woman. It took me quite some time to find you and get you down from that mountain. I have only be able to find you when you got down from it yesterday.

But well, I guess the fun I had with the lowly humans compensates some of my efforts. In that regard I will have to thank you, it has been quite some time since I had the pleasure of playing with some dumb humans.

They just got so rare these days, you know?

Well, I guess not as rare as your kind, right? “

The man clad in green just casually dropped Ari's head onto the ground.

„Enough of the introduction. I guess you know what I want, right. “

The demon girl seemed calm on the outside but inside of her an unimaginable anger quelled as well as a deep sadness

If I hadn't gone down yesterday to bring that girl to her village they would be still living. I've had gotten just too careless. And now all of them are dead just because of my lack of attention.

„Hey, are you still there, or have you already given up and that’s why you aren't saying anything? “

„Today is the day of your death. “

A strong aura came over from the demon girl as she circulated her cultivation base. Thick strands of qi emanated from her dantian and flowed through her meridians.

„Oh, well if you want to fight I will gladly accompany you. “

The man also released the power of his cultivation.

The demon girl made quick hand seals and a big golden seal manifested in the air and shot towards the man.

He frowned and also made some hand seals resulting in the manifestation a green illusionary dragon that shot towards the seal in attack to crush it.

As they met, a big explosion occurred together with a bright light that dazzled the man. As the man was in this dazzled state the girl shot forward and a simple but elegant blue spear appeared in her hand.

She thrusted her spear into the man only to discover she had pierced an illusion left by him.

Immediately she shot back and spread her divine sense looking for distractions in space.
