Chapter 96 Cold
Not really reacting to Zes words, the three gods grouped together seeming to hesitate. Without moving, they just observed Zes who was standing a distance away.
This first batch of attacks had once again brought many surprises to them. On one hand they had to witness that even their second brother, who in terms of physical strengh was the most powerful amongst them, wasn't much stronger then Zes. On the other hand they also saw that the powers Zes had shown in the last weeks of time were not even the tip of the iceberg.
Altogether this few minutes of serious fight had forced them to revaluate their opponents might. Now even their second brother, the red god wasn't willing to fight him reckless like he did before.
Quickly deciding their next move, they nodded their heads to each other. Then they finally got into motion.
All at once they advanced towards Zes, each taking a slightly different route. Their physical bodies at their maximum their exploded with energy adding to their momentum. Once again the black sword appeared in the blue gods hands while the green god choose a pair of short silver daggers, one for each hand.
The red man, didn't choose any weapon. He always had fought using his bare hands, overwhelming his enemies with pure, brute strengh. There never had been anyone who did not submit under his godly physical strengh, so there was no need for him to learn any kind of waepon.
This proved to be a mistake in this situation. He couldn't beat Zes in pure power and as Zes had many different tricks in his sleeve he also couldn't just start to charge in blindly. SO instead of also advancing right towards Zes, engaging into close combat he stopped a distance away, instantly channeling his qi and controlling the daos around him to pound towards Zes.
At the same time as a sea of daos were rushing towards Zes, the blue and green god also closed in their weapons shining in a dangerous light. Thick daos surrounded the blades and the sword and dagger intent radiating from the two extraordinary weapons were rocking heaven and earth.

It was obvious that neither the weapons, nor their wielders were ordinary as the blades were clearly the work of masters. Their cold steel having a feel of origin, a quality only highest grade weapons would have.
At the same time both the blue and the green gods were clearly martial sword and dagger masters. The thick intent released from their bodies and the respective daos of both weapons seeming to overlap with the them proved this fact.
But despised faced with the huge number daos charging at him to destroy his entire being and the two powerful masters of sword and dagger closing in with their pure aura already enough to tear appear the air, Zes wasn't cornered in the least.
His own aura bellowed to the sky, instantly crushing the sharp sword and dagger intent around him. Then two additional Zes appeared next to the original.
"Can't you think of anything new?"
The red brute standing a distance away roared, not believing that the clones would be strong enough to fight back against this focused attack of the three brothers. After all normally clone techniques would have one flaw.
The clones made with them would be weaker then the original.
But just as he predicted the clones to shatter into nothing, Zes finally truly moved. Each clone trusting into the air gathered qi into his hand. Then with an abrupt motion, they teared the space around them.
Yes, just like this they literally teared open all the space around them creating a wall of chaos around them. There was no dao involved into this brute crushing of space. Only pure strengh and qi that cause the space to crumble.
Seeing this sudden change, the two advancing gods that had only a meter separating them from the chaos and themselves did not stop, but pointed their hand forwards. Together with their motion, space began to shift into the direction of the chaos and filled the hole.
Waiting no more, the blue god swung his sword cutting down onto one of the three Zes head. But before the sword can even get close to Zes body, the space around it started to crumble chaos corroding the godly weapon. This Zes predicted the way the sword would take and already took control of the space before the sword passed through it.

Seeing that his beloved sword was being corroded by the chaos that had suddenly appeared around it, the blue god channeled more of his qi into it creating a small shield against the corroding power.
But as this would only hold for a moment, he quickly pulled back the sword and distanced himself a few meters and taking position again.
The exact same thing happened to the other green god who had attacked another clone and also had to save his weapon from destruction.
As for the red god, the floods of daos he had send shattered as they collided with the chaos and while he manage to somehow get some more powerful waves of daos through, they were blocked by a second wall of chaos created behind the first.
Now after the first huge momentum was broken, the fight calmed down a bit. The three gods were all fighting each Zes or one of his two clones. Sword slashes drew arcs in the space, dagger winds were blown all over the place and a sea of daos was branding against the enemy. But Zes defended against everything.
Not fighting head on and disabling each attack, but using small cracks in the space, rippling holes and forcing them to draw back their attacks.
In such manner the fight was continuing, without any solution in sight. After all Zes was only using a bit of qi to rip apart the space, while the gods had long ago restricted themselves on normal attacks without wasting to much of their energy.
Of course it could go on infinitely like this. Soon the gods became irritated and the green god jumped out of the reach of his Zes. Making a wonderful turn he landed and quickly formed handseals. As he formed one handseals after another, symbols appeared in front of his and flouted of taking their places.
After a moments hundreds of this symbols had formed and constructed a huge cube with them in the centre. Then with one last hand seal, the grey symbols began to glow in a golden light and some kind of membrane began to spread out from them, connecting to the other symbols. Soon a shield had build up, isolating the inner of the cube from the outer world.
Zes frowned. He did not know what exactly this symbols were used for, but just by looking at them he could tell that they wouldn't allow him to get out of the cube. At the same time they also changed the space, as now Zes was unable to crack it open now.
It seemed that the formation the symbols formed were locking down the space, making it impossible to crumble.
Just as he was a bit distracted by the suddenly appeared formation, the red god saw his change. Huge quantities of energy welled up around him. Then with him forming a handshake the energies focused together into three two meter long arrows of white pulsating energy.
With one thought, the red brute send the three arrows of.
Boom
Two of the arrows directly collided with the unfocused Zes's. As for the last one, the last remaining Zes had noticed it a split second before it hit and using a huge deal of power he managed to deflect it. The deflected arrow then slammed into the formation surrounding them and powerlessly disappeared.
Zes was shocked. In this one moment, not only was he caught in a formation that would force him to stay where he was, he also lost two of his clones at once!
Slowly he too had to admit, that he had underestimated his enemy.
Glaring at the three gods that had once again distanced themselves after this clash, he began to laught.
"Now that you have destroyed my clones, I guess I will drop the tricks."
His aura changed. Suddenly his overbearing aura from before vanished. Instead, he was cold now. Cold and merciless. But at the same time also amused. Amused to finally fight!

Saints and Suffering: A Naruto Fanfiction
Synopsis: Naruto and Sasuke were unable to defeat Kaguya the first time around, and suffer immensely for their failure. They travel back in time to right their wrongs, but struggle with the repercussions of their failure and the unintended consequences of their actions. Author's Note: This is fanfiction, I am a first time author, and I make no claims nor guarantees to quality. I have another story floating around in my head, but I am writing this first in order to practice my skills and gain feedback. Please feel free to give constructive criticism, I will try to read and respond. No guarantees to upload schedule or speed will be made. I work a full time job, and I am not particularly fast at writing, though maybe speed will increase as I become more practiced with my storytelling. This work will essentially be my playground moving forward; I'm going to write about scenarios that tickle my fancy, and the overall story may suffer from it. I will endeavor to keep continuity though. I have an outline that I am working on, and there is an overall arc to the story already. Furthermore, as of the beginning of this novel, my intention with this novel is to explore negative emotions and use my writing as a form of meditation/therapy. When I am sad, I will write sad things, and when I'm happy, the story will be happy. Lastly, there will be religious undertones every once in a while. Hopefully nothing too heavy handed though.
