Ehhhh… I meant to give forewarning about this chapter but I forgot to. It’s going to be a long one and the worst bit is it’ll be an informative one again. Honestly, I enjoy reading and writing such chapters, but I doubt it’s the same for you guys.
P.S. Double release today, but I will take a break tomorrow, hope you forgive me.

Time to learn something new about this world.
I snuck out of the room and decided to ‘obtain’ the small booklet on this world’s history, obviously not stealing it, just borrowing for the sake of self-interest.
It was unexpectedly simple to steal it, I just had to waltz straight into the room and tucked the booklet under my second-hand onesie and left quickly when Grandma was talking to the milkman and Julie was playing with the 5 year olds.
I hid in a quiet corner and took out the booklet, hiding it with my bent legs while holding it on my lap. I looked around to see if anyone was near and not seeing anyone, I proceeded to read the ‘book’
--History of this world--
A long, long time ago a group of three different intelligent races travelled great distances seeking refuge from the monsters in the Darklands. The creatures that were born and nurtured in the Darklands could only be called the most savage, strongest beasts which came in such numbers that humans had close to no chance of fighting the packs alone.
Because of this Humans travelled great distances to try and escape the beasts and in turn, they met up with two other intellectual races who had the same problems with the ferocity and power of the beasts in the Darklands. Bound together by fear, the newly created group of Humans, Elves and Werepeople decided to look for a safe haven together.
Elves were creatures that would look exactly like humans, were it not for their long, pointy ears. This species had produced incredibly talented magicians and had long lives almost triple that of humans, but they had a flaw: their low conception rate. The species almost went extinct during its early stages, but they managed to get lucky and barely avoid extinction.
Humans were the race that had no real disadvantage, except their lack of any perks that the other species had. They also had no advantage, other than being the opposite of the Elves when it comes to their conception rate.
Werepeople looked the same as humans, excluding their sharp canines, sharper than normal nails and the existence of a tail. Werepeople also had a lower conception rate than average, but nowhere near as bad as the fellow Elves. This species was naturally gifted with far superior strength than that of Elves and also had lives that were longer than Humans but still shorter than that of the Elves.
After a long time of wandering from location to location, all the while losing population and living like nomads, they eventually reached an area that seemed to be repulsive for the Darkland’s monsters as it was avoided greatly, even with the smell of food.

The group was overjoyed at this discovery and even better, was that they discovered that the safe haven area of the land was extensive, going very far horizontally and half the amount vertically.
The group then decided to decide on territories, with the Human’s who had great capabilities when it came to territorial games and claimed an incredibly resource rich are very quickly and managed to take the largest amount of land. This piece of land was located in the South-eastern area of the safe haven. They named their country: ‘Dragniir’.
The Elves who hated and were tired after the long travel decided to settle and claim land close to the place at which the group entered. Due to the elves being more concerned with their almost-extinction than territories, they ended up getting the smallest amount of land although the land was still relatively fertile and not too bad of a location. The Elves then named their newfound country as: ‘Lastva’.
The Werepeople decided to explore the land for the most fertile, best location. Their efforts led to a place in the west which they claimed and named ‘Bihel’. The instant they entered the west, they were stunned at the large amount of crops that grew there and acting quickly on the spot and making a rash decision, they claimed the land of the West as theirs.
They only realised later that the actual amount of fertile land in the area was incredibly limited and they only had the small amount that they discovered first along with a few patches here and there as areas where they could grow crops. Werepeople had a trait as a species in which they would act on impulse, without putting much thought into it, and that is what had happened on that day.
The ‘safe haven’ area that they found and lived in was decided to be named ‘Bidragva’ which originated from the names of the 3 newly-founded countries.
The first thousand or so years were lived in peace, with no real conflict between the nations save the occasional feud over the name of the ‘safe haven’. However, a large problem eventually arose as the years passed. The invisible, intangible barrier that surrounded the place and repelled the creatures of the Darklands had deteriorated with the years gone by.
The monsters started creeping in and brutally massacring all the villages near the borders of the Darklands. Bihel was hit especially hard, since most of it was bordering the Darklands rather than the other countries and it had the most land bordering the Darklands out of the 3 countries overall.
Although the monster attacks weren’t frequent and were actually rather rare, each attack from a single Darklands predator caused significant damage to villages which were unprotected. The Humans managed to sustain against these attacks because of each village being filled with a large population and a correspondingly large number of guards.
The Elves had a handful of competent magicians which they stationed near the borders of the Darklands. This was only able to be done by them because of their small country which turned into a positive.

Bihel had strong warriors but they were too few in number to combat the harassment attempts of the monsters. Because of this they were forced to draw back their borders near the Darklands so that they had less area to defend and they were successful in this tactic, but not without great losses along the way.
Although population loss was a problem, the main problem was the loss of fertile land as most of the crops were grown in the fertile areas located in the east, close to the borders to the other countries and also near the borders to the Darklands.
‘Bihel’ was already struggling with their lack of food, and with another great dent in their food production, they went into a period of great famish. This caused them to get desperate and attempt to fight other countries for land and resources. They considered waging war against Dragniir due to their large amount of resources, but decided against it because of the war power that the Human race had accumulated with the increase in their population.
They instead decided to wage war on the smallest nation out of the 3, and began a long war with ‘Lastva’ over resources. The war was actually relatively even, with ‘Bihel’ having advantage in numbers even with their loss of a population during the monster attacks. While ‘Bihel’ had the advantage of numbers, ‘Lastva’ had accumulated great mages to protect the land.
While the 2 countries continued fighting with each other, the third power was having an internal debate on what they should do.
‘Dragniir’ was a country which differed from the other 2 because unlike ‘Bihel’ who was ruled by an emperor and ‘Lastva’ who was ruled by the tribe chief, the country was ruled by 8 different kings which ruled over 8 different portions of land.
During the conflict between the other 2 countries, ‘Dragniir’ was split on what to do in this scenario. Four of the kings wanted to take advantage of this situation by destroying one of the countries and eventually destroying the final one whereas the other four wanted peace and knew that as a side effect of not taking advantage of such a situation, they would be seen internationally as a peace-loving country.
If they were to be seen as a peace-loving country, then refugees of the war would come to their country, depleting the population of the other countries and giving them reason to naturally expand their borders without causing any war. All in all, one was a straight-forward fight and conquer scheme whereas the other one was an elaborate plan that would corrode the other countries from the inside.
Both sides stayed stubborn with their idea’s and didn’t wish to give in the others. This almost sparked a civil war but since they were aware of their current position as the most powerful country, they also knew that the civil war would very well cause them to lose this spot on the list of powers.
The settled for simply splitting the country in half, one being referred to as ‘West Dragniir’ and the other as ‘East Dragniir’, corresponding with their locations. Neither wanted to give up the name of their original country and as such the name ‘Dragniir’ was kept for both of them.
The two newly formed countries were still known as one power even if they were separate nations. Although the country was divided in two, ‘East Dragniir’ still helped out ‘West Dragniir’ and vice versa. The reason for this was simple: The two new nations as one power were about 150% the size of ‘Bihel’, but with them split in two, they became 75% the size of ‘Bihel’ each, weakening them greatly.
Because ‘Dragniir’ was weakened when split in two, if ‘Bihel’ and ‘Lastva’ joined their few remaining troops together, they could potentially overpower ‘West Dragniir’ which shared borders with the two of them. If ‘West Dragniir’ was defeated and taken over, then it wouldn’t be long after, that ‘East Dragniir’ would be similarly destroyed.
So it became a give and take relationship between the two new nations where they would give troops to the other, to gain security. These troops would be sworn not to betray the side that they came from but likewise they swore not to attack the other side unless in self-defence.
The war between ‘Bihel’ and ‘Lastva’ went for 2 centuries, but it only went for that long because no treaty or anti-war agreement was signed so the war was technically ongoing although after the 3rd year of fighting, both lost too much of their war power to continue the fight and concentrated mainly on recovering from their losses.
‘Bidragva’ was finally at peace with itself, with no large wars occurring, the 2 previously at war races recovering and ‘Dragniir’ sending armies to try to clear out the Darklands zone close to their borders so that the nation could gain more territory and expand. These efforts were mainly fruitless because of the sheer number of Darkland’s monsters but nonetheless some were effective in holding back the monsters as a side effect.
However, everything eventually ceases to exist with peace included. On the year 2 B.T. (Before Treaty) the first recorded date in history in which every country began to use the same year system, a large-scale attack began.
This event was simply known as the ‘Invasion of the Three-Eyed Gigant’.
Well I apologize but the second release will be tomorrow, and by that I mean in 20 minutes. Patience is the key to success (Not really).
