When Rex opened his eyes again, he found himself in an endless expanse. A black space with nothing but him in it. However, soon a man wearing a white Roman-style robe appeared.
'Didn't this happen to me before?' (Rex)
"Welcome, Rex Vagus. I am Void." (Void)
"Just Void? Okay, then. What is happening?" (Rex)
"You are merging with my progeny. It seems your Bond is having considerable difficulty doing the same. However, it was a good choice to let him merge, otherwise, my creation would have swallowed him." (Void)
"Your creation destroyed an entire city!" (Rex)
"It does not differentiate between living or non-living things. It's purpose. my purpose is simply to devour all. This is the purpose given to us by our mother." (Void)
"Mother? Are you talking about Alice or Aria?" (Rex)
"The Goddess of Destruction creates nothing, the mother of all the other Gods and me is Mother Alice. I simply serve her sister, my aunt, Aria as one of her vassals of destruction. You have a confusing fate, Rex Vagus. Both Goddesses wish to bestow a divine blessing on you but, they were restrained from doing so. How odd, there should be none capable of obstructing them." (Void)
"Hmph. That's not entirely true. Anyway, tell your aunt that I'm really angry with how things turned out. Plus, you don't even seem sorry for the innocent souls you have taken." (Rex)
"Your rudeness to and familiarity with the Supremes puzzles me. As for the souls I have destroyed, as I said before and I will say again, I am what I am. My purpose is to devour. Your will affected my progeny. You destroyed all of that." (Void)
"What!? Don't joke with me! I didn't want to kill innocents!" (Rex)

"Enough. You wished to destroy. That much was enough. Learn to control the Void. Unlike many of the other Elements, Deviant, Higher or Basic, the Void has no 'abilities' or 'techniques'. It is free, it must simply devour. Wield it as you will. Now go, your bond was successful." (Void)
"Wait! I'm not done yet-" (Rex)
The blackness receded. A white expanse came rushing towards Rex, exploding outwards and he lost consciousness.
"Ha!" (Rex)
Rex woke up, sweating profusely. He blinked his eyes several times.
SKREE!
Hearing the screech, Rex jumped and turned to the source of the sound. He was surprised by what he saw. Laxavis, who originally had brown feathers, now had black feathers, his yellow irises were now purple with an occasional gold flash in them.

Rex blinked in surprise at the string of messages that bombarded him as soon as he woke up. He was a little more than annoyed at seeing the effect of his newly gained title.
"Woah, Laxavis! You evolved! However.....This title is useless! Is that all I get for surviving something that killed thousands of innocent people?!" (Rex)
Of course, Rex seemed to have overlooked the a very important gift that he had acquired; his affinity with the Void Element.

Rex concentrated and begun his meditation. He activated Mana Sense and Mana Manipulation.
'I can feel the four basic.....but that's about it! Where's the Void Element!? Let's try this....' (Rex)
"Laxavis, can you circulate the Void Mana around you?" (Rex)

After giving his affirmation to Rex, Laxavis's body seemed to give off a black glow.
'Alright....now repeating the process...Meditation...Mana Sense...Mana Manipulation...!! What the hell is that!?' (Rex)
When Rex closed his eyes and tried to sense the 'aura' around Laxavis, he could feel the distinctly evolved Fire Mana, which signified Lightning Mana. However, what really surprised him was the Grey Mana around Laxavis that seemed to consume all other Mana around it. Slowly, in Rex's vision, the Grey Mana became darker and darker until it became pitch black. Rex could identify it as Void Mana.
'This thing is terrifying! To think that it could consume other types of Mana this easily! I wonder....what Deviant Element could counter something like this? Now, to sense my own Void Mana! Huh?' (Rex)

Due to certain conditions that have been met, your Meditating skill has evolved! It is now: Mana Meditation!
"Well....that was...unexpected...I think...Anyway! Back to finding my Void! Let's see..." (Rex)
Rex started to concentrate and activated Mana Meditation. He could feel Laxavis's Void Mana, however, his own was simply non-existent.
"Just what is the secret? Maybe if I...! This is! Inside!?" (Rex)
