《Another World and I'm still rich?》Chapter 4. Magic [Re-Written]

Author - I did mess up that last one quite badly. That's why I am re-writing the entire chapter. Also, listen here guys... I don't know why I wrote the slavery part. I just felt like writing it and did it. I admit, it was the most stupid sudden idea i've had so far. So without further talking, here is the REAL and NEW chapter 4 that my sudden ideas DID NOT mess up! (I am still very sorry that I messed it up but I want to expriment with a few things and it seems that was one big mess of an experiment that I made there.)
I also deleted it to make room for this. Enjoy.
I wake up on my bed and get up and put on my clothing before going out of my room.
After I get out of my room I go to the front of the mansion where Xavier, Silan and the girl I presume is Memui.
I walk towards the three of them.
"Silan!" (Colin)
"Ah, Colin! Just in time! I have a new plan for you, Colin!" (Silan)
"Plan?" (Colin)
"You are going to train magic with Memui and physically train with me! Memui's a better mage than me or well... Anybody here." (Silan)
"Memui is the best magician in the Dragon Kingdom? Also... Silan, I have to ask... Am I in trouble?" (Colin)
"What do you mean?" (Silan)
"Well... That pig-like kid knows of me being here and he could easily do something to enslave me... And it seems you would be powerless because of them having more political influence right?" (Colin)
"Yeah, they do have more political influence in the kingdom. Strength sadly isn't everything... Otherwise the Dragons would be rulers of this kingdom... Well... We had more political influence when the parents of Vivian were around..." (Silan)
"So am I in trouble?" (Colin)

"I don't think so. The brat won't have enough guts to go against us just yet. The only thing they can do to us is make us fall even lower in the ranks of royalty but that won't matter to us anymore." (Silan)
"Good... I thought I might become a slave..." (Colin)
"You won't become a slave! Vivian would kill me if I let you become a slave." (Silan)
(Author - But in my idiotic failed attempt of chapter 4 you did Colin... You did become a slave. We shall no longer speak of that chapter. It is now forbidden to speak of it. Not...)
Silan walks up to me after he looks at Memui.
"Also... Colin... Look out for Memui... She is kind of an airhead. She forgets a lot of things... I'll come look at the first lesson to make sure but yeah..." (Silan)
I nod and Silan backs off and Memui runs up to me.
"So you are Colin Tyccus!" (Memui)
She starts lifting my arms and studying my body.
Silan coughs twice and Memui straightens up.
"I am Memui. It's nice to meet you." (Memui)
"I am Colin Tyccus, but I guess everybody knows that... Nice to meet you, Memui." (Colin)
"Well! Come on now!" (Memui)
Memui grabs my hand and drags me while Silan and Xavier follow us.
We go to the back of the mansion where the ground is charred and I notice a few walls instead of the one big main wall around the mansion.
"We shall train here!" (Memui)
"Why is it charred?" (Colin)
"I tried an area of effect fire spell. It turned out very good!" (Memui)
"This... Is your idea of very good?" (Colin)
"Considering the fact that it could've blown up and destroyed that part of the mansion, yes." (Memui)
"Then it is very good." (Colin)

"Well... I shall start with the basics... What do you know of magic?" (Memui)
"Well... Not much. Magic is an unexplainable force that uses Mana to cast spells of different elements. You can combine some elements to create even stronger spells. The origin of Mana and Magic is unknown and you can gather it and expand your magic pool by meditating." (Colin)
Memui claps her hands.
"That's a lot more than most people your age know! Now... Do you know the different elements?" (Memui)
"Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Light, Dark." (Colin)
"Good! Have you meditated before?" (Memui)
"Yeah once." (Colin)
"What kind of colours did you see in your soul?" (Memui)
"Well.. I saw red, blue and Black. Even a little bit of a golden glow what I presume was Light." (Colin)
Memui stares at me blankly and Silan and Xavier's jaws have dropped.
"You... You have... Fire, water... Dark and Light!? That's two opposite combo's! How has your body not exploded yet! Where's the bloating part!?" (Memui)
Memui starts looking around my body inspecting every part of it.
"No... Bloating... Part... No signs of exploding... How!? How how how!? You are defying the world's knowledge of magic right now Colin!" (Memui)
Memui starts walking around pondering about something and Silan is reading a book over and over really quickly while Xavier's jaw is still dropped.
"What the... I read this book of magic a thousand times just now and it still says nothing about not exploding while having one or two different pairs of magic!" (Silan)
"Umm... I want to learn Magic now..." (Colin)
Memui snaps back into reality and walks up to me.
"Sorry! Ok, let's start then... Silan, find something out about this please. Xavier, help him!" (Memui)
Sialn and Xavier run off and leave me and Memui alone.
"Ok... Let us start with a simple fireball since you have fire magic." (Memui)
"So, how do I cast it?" (Colin)
"Concentrate, feel the flow of mana inside of you. When you feel it, imagine a ball of fire forming infront of you. When the ball of fire forms, imagine it being thrown at the wall." (Memui)
I start concentrating and trying to feel the flow of mana. After a while I feel it and then I imagine a ball of fire. After a while a real ball of fire forms infront of me and ontop of my hand.
I imagine the ball of fire being thrown at high speeds toward the wall and it does get sent into the wall at high speed and it explodes.
"Good! Now, keep doing this for a bit until you feel your mana being low. Sometimes you might blank out if your mana is too low but I will be here to help you if that happens so, just... Practice." (Memui)
I do as Memui says and practice my fireball and sometimes even try a few balls of Water.
I notice that one ball of any element takes ten mana away from my pool and that ten mana regenerates in ten minutes because I practiced for a couple hours.
Well... I practiced the entire day and only blacked out twice! I guess... That's good?
I shoot a ball of light at the wall.
"Ok! That's good enough for today! Now, go and rest! I have some research to do..." (Memui)
"Thank you Memui... Thank you for teaching me more magic." (Colin)
"You have a long way to go. You just used chantless magic. Wait until the magic that requires chanting.... That is a pain my dear Colin. A pain." (Memui)
Memui says that as she leaves and I go back into my room and fall asleep on the bed immediatly as I make contact with it...
I'm just too tired from all that practice...
Author- Well, here's a better and improved and re-written and normal speed chapter 4!
Hahahah ;-;
Please never speak of the failed chapter 4 that I just deleted a few minutes ago please.

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)
