《Another World and I'm still rich?》Chapter 5. Capitolium.

I wake up from my bed and do the usual routine of showering and putting on clothes.
After that my door gets opened and Silan, Mumei, Xavier and Vivian come in.
"Umm... Good Morning?" (Colin)
"Good Morning!" (Vivian)
Vivian is looking around the room after she waves at me.
Memui is staring at me while her hands are on her hips.
Silan and Xavier are looking outside the corridor and then Silan closes the door after Xavier goes out of the room.
"So... Why have you all come to my room?" (Colin)
"Colin. We need you to come with us to the Dragon Capital... We got a message this morning. Here." (Silan)
Silan hands me a message.
"Urgent Summons for Vivian Terafell. The Dragon King wishes for Vivian Terafell, Silan, Xavier and Memui to come to his castle. Also, The Seer wishes to meet somebody named Colin Tyccus who should be staying in the Terafell Mansion." (Message)
"The Seer?" (Colin)
I look at Silan after handing him the message.
"The Seer is one of the greatest magicians living, she doesn't use her magic for offense but her magic is different, she can see the future. Thanks to that we've gotten past and through many turmoils... If she wishes to meet you... Then even the King would be jealous of you. She barely comes out of her tower these days and when somebody invites her to dinner she says she is looking at a very special person through her globe." (Silan)
"So... I should be very honoured?" (Colin)
"Yes. You should be. Well... We have to go now, will you come?" (Silan)
"Yes. I will come." (Colin)
"Good. Let's go!" (Silan)
Xavier opens the door and Memui grabs Vivian and walks out the door. Silan and me leave last after I grab some things like my Katana and the rubik's cube. The cube has helped me so far so why shouldn't it help me even more?
We walk to a carriage that is highly decorated and Silan sits in the front. Memui, Xavier and Vivian go into the carriage. I sit with Silan because I have a few questions for him...
"Why aren't you inside the carriage, Colin?" (Silan)
Silan looks at me with an eyebrow raised.
"I have a few questions for you, Silan... A few questions you have not completely answered." (Colin)
Silan sighs and pulls the reins and the horses start moving. When we get out of the gates of the mansion four horsemen surround us and they have the Terafell family symbol on their shields... Guards I presume.

"Ask away, Colin." (Silan)
"First... Who is the brat anyways? I've thought about this for a while but shouldn't the Terafell family be stronger in every way than a family of pigs? Why can't you just break that engagement?" (Colin)
"Well... I'll tell you everything. I can see that you won't take a simple non-explaining answer anymore. Well... That brat is actually the first son of the King of the Pig Kingdom. And the reason behind Vivian and his engagement... It's the fact that we are fighting on two fronts with the Vampires and the Zombies... Zombies from the East, Vampires from the West. The zombies are relentless and the Vampires are using the shade of night and guerilla tactics so we can't beat them instantly.
The Pig Kingdom used that to get some power over us and forcefully made the King use Vivian as a tool... The King has only sons and Vivian has no parents so the Pig King took the chance and made his son engaged to her...
We just can't fight on three different fronts at once, our numbers aren't high enough for that. Dragons might be strong but we don't have the numbers...
We can't break the engagement because we are under the orders of the King... If the Zombies or Vampires would back off and make peace we could break the engagement and go at war with the Pigs and slaugher them all.
So the only reason why it can't be broken is because of the damn two-front war that the Dragon Kingdom is facing right now." (Silan)
Silan looked disgusted when he talked about the Pig King and even gripped the reins harder than usual...
"So... We just need to defeat one side to break the engagement?" (Colin)
"Yeah. The Zombies are relentless warriors that use their almost endless number of troops to invade lands... We can only defend against them because of their high number of troops. The Vampire's attack the places where the defence is the lowest and back off immediatly. The Dragon King went to fight the Vampires last time I heard of him so he must be back... I hope he defeated the Vampires so we can finally break off that blasted engagement." (Silan)
"Hmm... I see... But the Seer hasn't said anything about the war or engagement?" (Colin)
"She suddenly locked herself in her tower a few days before the war even begun. She said that somebody important is coming to end this turmoil on our lands. Somebody completely different from all of us..." (Silan)

"Oh... Well, one more question... Why haven't we been attacked by the Zombies and Vampires?" (Colin)
"Because of me being there. The King ordered me to guard Vivian because she is the one thing that keeps us from fighting on three fronts and maybe even four because we aren't on the best of terms with the Wolves from the North and the Pigs will declare war on us if Vivian dissapears or dies or breaks the engagement. The Pigs are from the south by the way..." (Silan)
"That's all my questions for now, thanks Silan." (Colin)
Silan sighs and speeds up.
We ride for two days after reaching a huge city that is built on a really big mountain with many different levels and on the half-point of the mountain there is a huge castle keep looking building...
"That is our Capital. It's been there since forever. No records about how long it has been there... Nobody knows... The first record about this place was five thousands years ago." (Silan)
We ride into the Capital and I see many dragons and even some other species like Lizards walking on the streets and dragon kids happily playing.
We keep riding until we reach the base of the Mountain. There are two big doors leading into the mountain...
Silan gets off and walks and knocks on the big doors three times. They slightly open.
Silan says something and then the doors fully open and Silan comes back and rides through them.
The four guards who were with us stay behind.
When we enter everybody looks at me... Probably because I am the only one without scales, horns or a tail...
"Colin, the guard told me that the King wishes to see you before you go to the Tower of the Seer." (Silan)
"Ok..." (Colin)
Silan stops the carriage and says for everybody to get out and I jump off. The road inside the mountain goes to the other side and can easily be rode through with a big carriage...
I look around and see two more big doors but these seem more reinforced...
Silan goes up to the doors and I follow him and the others do so too.
Silan pushes the doors open and we all follow him silently.
I notice a huge black dragon sitting on a big flat stone platform and a throne infront of the dragon where a man is sitting... Which one is the King!?
Memui comes next to me.
"The person on the throne is the king. The Dragon is just a bodyguard." (Memui)
She walks away from me and Silan bows.
Everybody else bows aswell.
"Stand up." (Dragon King)
We all stand up.
"It is good that you all came so fast. I have some good news for Vivian and the rest of you... We no longer need the engagement.
I just went to fight the Vampires and found their King... Apparently they were just attacking us for food because of their no food situation so we declared peace and now have a trade treaty! The Zombies backed off immediatly when they heard about the Vampires so we are no longer at war!" (Dragon King)
The Dragon King is waving his arms all around the place... Is this really the King or did Memui joke with me?
"Vivian, do you like the news?" (Dragon King)
He suddenly gets very serious and places his hands on the two handles on the throne.
"I do!" (Vivian)
The Dragon King suddenly bursts into laughter and then his eyes land on me and he stops laughing and gets off the throne and walks towards me with a serious face.
He walks up to me and looks at me.
"So... You are the person the Seer wants to meet?" (Dragon King)
"Yes, I am Colin Tyccus" (Colin)
"No horns, no scales, weird ears... No tail... Weird eyes... Weird clothing... Weird sword..." (Dragon King)
He backs off and sits back on his throne and waves his hand twice and two guards appear.
"Guards, escort Colin to the Tower of the Seer. I have to talk with Xavier, Memui and Silan. If Vivian wants to stay and listen she can." (Dragon King)
The air in the room is very serious and even the Black Dragon is staring at me curiously... I can even feel that something is staring at me through the wall.
The guards come towards me and bow and grab my arms and pull me out of the room and towards another...
They stop dragging me after one of them opens a door and I see a huge staircase leading up to somewhere.
"Good luck." (Guards)
They back off and I start my trip up the huge staircase.

On the Road to Elspar (Book 1)
The year is 1329. The Huntress' War has entered its tenth year, inflaming competing nationalisms and pitting the Confederacy of Caldrein against one of the continent's superpowers, the Tenereian Union. Desperately outnumbered, the Confederacy has relied on the prowess of its famed Caldran mercenaries, with highly-trained and experienced warbands returning from foreign conflicts to the defense of their homeland, and it is on their backs that Caldrein has successfully mounted a valiant defense for a decade. But they are losing, and day by day, with all the grace of a sledgehammer, the vast Tenereian armies take one more bit of Caldran territory, one footstep at a time. Sixteen-year-old Neianne from the village of Caelon has submitted herself to Faulkren Academy, one of the centuries-old institutions established to train the next generation of Caldrein's elite soldiers of fortune, to learn the ways of wars for three years before embarking upon the defense of her country. Her dryad family once hailed from reclusive woodland communes isolated from Caldrein's complicated mainstream society, and her upbringing leaves the shy village girl unprepared to suddenly train alongside other apprentices from backgrounds as low as the dirty slums of Caldrein's cities and as high as the halls of aristocratic power. Yet the war is eroding the norms and traditions that the Caldran people have long considered part of their national mythos, and the tensions within the confederacy that have long simmered under the surface - race, class, community, identity - are slowly but surely dividing its people, and Neianne must grow and discover who she really is, even as the war that she is steadfastly training for comes to its inexorable end... On the Road to Elspar is a fantasy quest - a work of interactive fiction wherein readers get to vote on what happens next at critical junctures - that is the first entry in a story that follows Neianne of Caelon, which first began on July 20, 2016. Originally a three-part in medias res prologue to a larger story titled On the Elsparian Road, it was eventually decided that this section - which covers Neianne's three years at Faulkren Academy - become its own independent story due to length, structural, and accessibility reasons. Despite this being a reader interactive work of fiction, due to logistical and verification concerns, voting will only be counted on its thread on the forum Sufficient Velocity, where this story originally began. As such, the content here on Royal Road serves as a story-only archive. You are, of course, entirely welcome to enjoy On the Road to Elspar as a conventional work of fiction, just as you are welcome to comment, discuss, and provide critique. But if you would like to participate in the voting, then I would be honored to welcome you on Sufficient Velocity. To facilitate accessibility and to ensure the best reading experience, this story-only version of On the Road to Elspar will be updated at a periodic pace, even though further content exists, so as to not overwhelm new readers on Royal Road. If you enjoy this story, wish to binge it, and/or want to participate in voting immediately, you may of course read all additional content via the link provided above. This paragraph will be removed once the content on Royal Road catches up with what has already been posted in its original thread. Cover artwork by DreamSyndd.
