《Another World and I'm still rich?》Chapter 41. Old Deals and New Expansions.

--- A peaceful week and a half later ---
I walk into the Headquarters and immediatly notice Bunvers.
"Headmaster! I have some good news. Our Union has a presence in all of the neighboring cities! It'll take a while before we have full control over the city but we can expand at the same rate to the other cities if our presence grows!" I thank Bunvers for the information and continue walking upstairs.
Bunvers also follows me upstairs.
I wait in my office for a few minutes before everybody else arrives.
"You have finally arrived. Erius, Eshmun, Asante and Roland. I have a little bit of a favor to ask of all of you. That favor is... Each of you take a certain direction to expand our little empire towards and focus on that. Bunvers will look over all of you as he has already started with expanding.
For example... Erius takes the North, Eshmun the South, Asante the East and Roland the West. You all expand as much as you can in those directions for as long as you can and give regular updates to Bunvers.
Can you do such a thing or shall I need to trust Bunvers with everything regarding expanding?" They all immediatly nod in agreement and stand up.
"We are glad that you want us to actively participate in such a great thing as expanding the Union! We shall immediatly start assisting Bunvers and we shall solidify the locations we have already expanded to. We thank you, Headmaster, for such an opportunity." Erius surprises me with his enthusiasm regarding the subject.
I look out the window and then back at the rest of them.
"I'd also like it if each of you tried to maintain sort of a connection with eachother and help eachother. Don't just become branches of the main office and only support eachother when I tell you to.

Do it even without me telling you to. Don't be afraid to ask for help if, for example, a thief company is giving you problems and you can't handle them alone. This is why the Union is in place. So we don't need to ask shady people to take care of it for us." I remind them why I created this 'Union' in the first place and then let them leave.
(I hope they actually get along well. I'd hate to start 'removing' corruption so soon.)
I sit in my office and read reports that are occasionally given to me and do almost nothing else.
(It's a boring lifestyle up here but a needed one for now. My companions are running around helping people in the city and doing their own things. I wonder what's taking Nephenee so long to get here though. She's a week late.)
Just as I say that, one of the workers knocks on my door.
"Enter." I say in a calm voice as he enters.
"Somebody named Nephenee is here with an entire village of people. They refuse to leave until they see you." I stand up and immediatly start walking downstairs after thanking the worker.
(Finally. I wonder what took them so long...)
When I reach the front door, I notice Nephenee sitting down.
"What took you so long?" I ask curiously.
"I got... Lost..." Nephenee answers while hiding her face.
(How did I already know this answer was coming? Just how...)
"Well. You're here now. I'll have a guard escort you and your people to a location. I think Silan will take it over from there." I say as I ask a guard to show them towards the mansion.
I wave them goodbye and continue with my usual routine of reading random reports and other bits of information that reach me.

Dungeon Core? Nah, I Think I'll Just Get Super-Wealthy Instead
The cycle is simple enough. A Dungeon Core is born from a wayward soul. It seeks power and agency, and works to accumulate wealth to fuel its power, in turn using this power to accumulate further wealth. Inevitably, the mind is lost as desperation and ambition drive it to commit darker and darker acts. Shortly thereafter, the adventurers arrive to quell the core. This is a tale that has repeated itself countless times throughout history: all cores desire power. And yet, this core seems to have it backwards. It doesn't want to rule the world. It has no desire to enslave or conquer. No, this core doesn't want to be a warlord, a villain, or a tyrant. It wants to start a core-poration. After all, when money is power, what greater weapon is there than capitalism? Join a dungeon core that wastes an absurd amount of time and effort trying not to be evil on his journey to earn fat stacks against all odds. -This is a 'Dungeon Core' type fiction with LitRPG elements in it. The start may be fairly slow compared to the average. Expect roughly 2.5k per chapter. -I'm only a hobbyist writer. As such, there may be the occasional error and pacing may be poorly-handled. Constructive criticism is alway welcome. I'm just here to write stuff that makes my brain release the g o o d c h e m i c a l s. -I am trashy and I like monsterpeople so you can expect an awful lot of those as we get further in. Thank you for reading this far, and I hope you enjoy.

The Guide
Leon Octavian Sirus was the head scientist of the Median Empire’s department of artificial intelligence. He tried to play god by creating a world with true sentient life, though virtual. It is still a world with people that can learn, think, and feel and as always that action had consequences and one of them was his death by his own creations. Despite commiting a grevious taboo, his world was succesful enough that instead of burning in the depths of hell, which is what this sociopath deserves, he is given the chance by his own world's guide to guide a race in a young world. P.S. This awesome cover was made by the more awesome MikeWe.
