Chapter 15

New faces and Old Faces

Naruto and Sirius continued their journey to Web Valley. Naruto planted a few light particles when he attacked Basil and after doing this job, he is going to tend to that.

It's been over a month since Naruto left his Guild and started doing jobs. He did them continuously without going back to Fairy Tail. He would send Makarov a word of his whereabouts from time to time to keep in touch.

"Looks like we have reached the location," said Naruto, looking at the job request. According to it, they should meet their client at the entrance of Web Valley.

"Hey, who are you?" Asked a man. Naruto and Sirius turned back to see a young man.

He has amber eyes and dark hair that reaches just past his jaw. His attire consists of a grey long-sleeved shirt underneath a white sleeveless top as well as a pair of dark pants and short boots.

He also wears a pair of glasses with light frames. He looks more feminine than a male. Naruto coughed and to get himself back to the present.

"We are here on a job," said Naruto. The man had a confused look on his face and after a second, realisation struck him and his face lightened.

"Yes, that job request. My name is Kain. My brother was the one who sent it, but he went missing as well" he said sadly.

"Don't worry, we'll find him, Kain" assured Naruto.

"So can you tell me what happened?" Asked Naruto.

"It started suddenly. One of the experienced guides took a group of visitors to show the valley. The valley being naturally made up, makes a wonderful tourist attraction, days passed and they didn't return. People started hearing weird noises after that. I don't know what they are as my brother didn't allow me to go in, but they all said the same thing, the voice would come out of nowhere and silence follows. After that, the person disappears. My brother had become one of the victims in recent days. After posting the request, he went to bring some wood for fire and I heard a scream, but he didn't return after that. I got worried, but couldn't get in myself" he said in a bitter and sorrowful tone.

'Ok, so people are disappearing, but they don't know why and even our client disappeared. Hmm, what a unique case' thought Naruto. He looked at Sirius and the young Jaguar was looking at him expectantly.

"Ok, man. We'll scout for any clues in the Valley. You stay here. Don't worry, we'll return after we find your brother and others" said Naruto and made his way into the entrance.

"Wait! Are you sure you can handle this?"

"Dude, I'm a S-class mage. So don't worry" said Naruto and walked into the Valley. The moment he stepped in, he felt his surroundings disappear as if they were merged. All the hills look alike and to new visitors, it is easy to get lost.

"Interesting, there is something here. This Valley is large and difficult to traverse across" said Naruto, calculating things in his mind.

"That may be to anyone, not us," said Sirius confidently. Naruto nodded in confirmation. He sat in a cross-legged position and concentrated.

"Earth Dragon's: Secret Art: Earth Plate," said Naruto. This technique allows the user to sense anything within a large area. Naruto can cover all the Web Valley with this technique easily.

It could not only show directions but also pick life forms within range. This technique also measures the distance between the user and other life forms as well.

"Interesting," said Naruto.

"What's going on?"

"It looks like someone is playing their cards here. Nearly 30 Km from here in the northwest there is a base. There were at least 100 people there. If my guess is correct, then all the missing people are captives there"

"100 people huh, from what that guy said, the missing people account for 60 people, so at least 40 men are guarding them" concluded Sirius.

"Yes, and all of them are low B-class and one of them is High A, and it seems a small barrier is surrounding making it hard to find out" said Naruto. Generally, B-class are not much of a threat. But if they are in a group, that's a different matter entirely. In this case, all these people pose a Low S-class threat, but that is not a big problem for Naruto.

"Let's take rest here. I'll send my clones and see what else is going on" said Naruto and 20 Clones popped into existence.

"You know what to do, move out," said Naruto. With a 'Hai' they left in Shunshin.

With Clones

As they reached the headquarters that the Original found, they could smell a foul stench. This smell was as if everything was rotten. To avoid detection, they all used the Hiding Like a Mole Jutsu and passed through all checkpoints and barrier while one of the Clones with his Sharingan activated stood guard at the perimeter.

One of the benefits of learning Wood-Dragon Slayer magic is plant communication. They can communicate through plants and can also use telepathy as well.

Aldoron was thorough in making Naruto his successor and so taught everything he knew to their blonde boss. Naruto took it in like a sponge to water.

'Report' asked the clone who stood guard at the perimeter. He was chosen as a leader by others for this job.

'As said by boss, there are 100 people here. 40 members seems like some guards and others were bound in ropes in a separate place' said one of the clones.

'Well, is it possib-' his report was stopped from a sudden magic surge.

'Emergency, there was a new magic signature which appeared out of nowhere. It is large, at least High A-class' said the observing clone in hurry.

'Calm down, let's see what this new signature does' said the leader clone.

"Lion Brilliance," said the guy and a large amount of light came from his body, covering a wide radius. This bright light stunned most of the men guarding and he struck them with another attack after that.

"Regulus Impact," he said. This spell was done by gathering light on his open right palm and then clenching his fist to punch the target. When this punch connects, a large lion's face materializes from light and strikes the target, blasting many people away with great force. The clones can see that as they also use Light Magic.

'He uses light magic' said all clones at once. The leader clone got intrigued by this.

'Another Light Magic-user, interesting. He looks strong as well. What is he?' Thought the clone? He smelled like a Lion but appears to be a human. He observed the guy more carefully.

He is a young man of average height, distinguished by his delicate facial features and his orange hair. His hair is long with larger spikes jutting in every direction, with a pair framing his face, due to another pair of strands sitting on top of his head, being vaguely reminiscent of animal ears, the rest of his hair mirrors a lion’s mane.

He has sharp teeth, with his canines being longer than normal once. His hazel eyes are covered by a pair of azure-tinted sunglasses with a thin frame.

He was using light gathered on his hands to punch and jab his opponents. He fought well and all the goons were dealt with. He was fighting them patiently as well.

'Definately an experienced fighter' thought the clones.

Not a moment is wasted nor magic wasted in fighting. He was natural at fighting. The leader clone is watching, interested. The person they labelled as leader of the thug group came into view.

All the goons are non-mages and fought with swords and guns without any magic. But this guy can use magic and is looking at the lion guy with rage.

"You, how dare you spoil my plan" he cried in outrage.

"I'm not you, my name is Leo-Loke. It is your mistake to kidnap my master," said Loke.

"Your master? Who is it?" Asked the leader? He is a middle-aged man with sunken cheeks. He had long, stringy, white hair and a huge grin on his face till now. He had a slim body and stooped shoulders, causing him to appear considerably shorter. He was with one bulging eye, and one squinting eye.

He wore a white dress shirt and light dress pants, and black dress shoes. He wore a dark red necktie and a grey trench coat, adorned with shiny, silver accents.

"Yes, I'm not going to tell names and put lives at risk," said Loke.

"Ok, now what do you want me to do?" Asked the middle-aged man.

"Leave all of them," said Loke.

"Why would I do that? This was a good catch and I'm not going to leave all that now, do I?" He said with maniacal laughter.

"Attack," he said and a large protrusion like a hand lunged at Loke. He was momentarily shocked by it, but he escaped it at a hair's breadth.

"You will pay for this," said Loke.

"Regulus Impact," said Loke and attacked the flesh-like thing. It broke into large chunks of time in all directions.

"It's no use, my flesh magic can repair itself," said the mad guy in glee. As he said, the flesh tentacle stitched together and attacked the orange-haired guy again.

"Regulus Shot," said Loke and a light shot went towards the madman and his hand was torn at the joint.

"Ggggggggggaaaaaaaahhhhhhh" he shouted in pain.

"I want to kill you, but I have work to do," said Loke and went into the place where everyone was tied up. He searched for a while and found the person he was looking for.

"Ah, here you are" heard the clones and there were screams.

"Relax, guys. I'm not here to harm you" Loke said in a calm tone.

"Leo, here," said a female voice.

"Yes, yes. My dear beauty. I'm here to save you" said now named Leo and untied the girl in question.

They walked out slowly, not paying attention to others who were screaming for help.

"Hmph, that old fart, how dare he kidnap me when I'm enjoying my vacation," said the girl in anger.

"Why are you on a vacation again, Karen?" asked Leo.

"What are you talking about, silly. I'm here to enjoy myself" she said in a proud tone, showing off her beauty. The clones observed her.

Karen had brown eyes and green hair that was put back by a blue hat with a white-coloured symbol and with large breasts.

On closer observation, they found the stamp to be of Blue Pegasus Guild. Karen's member stamp was located on the lower left part of her abdomen, coloured blue. She wore a long fur-trimmed red coat with a light pink furry collar and handcuffs on top of a cream and black bikini top. She also wore a knee-length dark purple skirt with light brown socks and red high-heeled shoes.

"Why did it take this much for you to come?" She asked in a haughty tone.

"Well, I'm waiting to come, but I didn't receive your request," he said with a shrug.

"Aries was not here if only she was here," she said with a sadistic glee in her eyes.

"I suggest you treat your spirits better, Karen," said Leo with a hint of anger in it.

"Don't be like that, Leo. You don't want to hurt me, do you" she said in a slightly sadistic tone with a tint of tension in it.

"I'm going to say this again, we spirits have feelings. This is my last warning to you. Even now, I came to your aid because I want to teach you the value of spirits, remember this as a favour" said Leo in a stern tone.

"Hmph, fine. I'll treat Aries well, ok" she said, but Leo didn't react or convinced by it.

"Really, I'll treat her well," she said, hugging him from behind, rubbing her sizable bust against him. Leo sighed.

"Ok, but this is the last time, remember that well," said Leo and they went in a random direction to get out of the Valley talking amiably.

"What a pair," said one of the clones.

"Daydreams later, we need to inform this to the boss," said one of the Clones and dispelled.

With Naruto and Sirius

They were eating some pork Ramen when the memories of the clones settled in Naruto's mind.

"Huh,"

"What?" Asked Sirius.

"It looks like someone did our job"

"What! I thought we are the ones who accepted it"

"Yes, but one guy, came outta nowhere and started to beat the hell out of all the goons and fought with the leader and injured him. After that, he left with a mage from Blue Pegasus"

"That's good. Wait, then what about others?"

"They are left there without a care in the world. My clones are currently evacuating them and going to bring them to the entrance tomorrow morning. I think this job is done" said Naruto.

"What about that guy," asked Sirius.

"I don't know about him. But he smelt like a Lion. If possible, I'm gonna track that Blue Pegasus mage"

"I thought of finding this mysterious sounds" grumbled Sirius.

"Come on, Siri. Some times things won't happen how we want them" said Naruto.

"Fine, good night. I'm gonna sleep" said Sirius and slept on a small wooden bed Naruto made. Naruto smiled at his son.

'You have grown well Siri' thought Naruto slept in his bed.

Meanwhile in Magic Council, A few Days Ago

"Chairman, this is an outrage. How dare that Western Empire to try and invade us" yelled Org.

"Yes, this is uncalled for," agreed Belno.

"I think they are up to something," said Yajima.

"I call for a vote to use Etherion," said Org, controlling his temper.

"Etherion, are you crazy, Org?" said Yajima.

The Satellite Square: Etherion, best known as Etherion is an extremely powerful Magic Weapon controlled by the Magic Council.

Powers:

Etherion, once successfully prepared, fires an extremely large, destructive beam of Magic upon the desired location (said Magic contains all elements to equally damage anything), that completely obliterates the targeted area, leaving only dust behind. Its energy is strong enough to reduce matter down to its smallest components.

The Etherion can be deployed on any part of the world map in a form of magic circles which is called the "Satellite Square".

"You don't understand. If they invade our land, why should we stay calm? Chairman, please call for a vote for Etherion" argued Org.

"Calm down, everyone. The situation doesn't look favourable. But let's discuss. We shouldn't cause unnecessary destruction" said Seam, the Chairman.

"That is a good idea, Chairman. Let's discuss what to do" said Yajima, agreeing with the Chairman.

"I say we warn them of the consequences and leave it be. We shouldn't be aggressive and cause unnecessary destruction" said Yuri.

"Hmm, that's a good idea, Yuri," said the Chairman.

"What do you think about it, Yajima?" He asked, turning towards the short man.

"Yes, sir. That is a good idea. If everyone agrees, that can be done" said Yajima.

"I call for a vote. Those who agree, raise your hands," said Seam. 7 out of 10 members raised their hands, giving the majority to pass the notion.

"It is settled. Call the representative sent by the Western Empire" said, Chairman.

The Chairman explained their decision and warned of firing Etherion or if it comes to that, another secret weapon.

"My name is Yajeel, sir. I'm the representative of the Alvarez Empire of the West '' said Yajeel with a bow.

Yajeel is a tall, old man with an unusually long neck and forehead and stark eyes. He has dark hair which was arranged carelessly on his head. Yajeel has a small amount of stubble on his chin and a long moustache. He wears a dark-coloured shirt, an intricately decorated scarf, pinstriped pants and a cloth belt. He had a green Alverez crest printed on the front and back of his shirt.

"Remember this well, representative of the West, we could make the magic in your continent disappear if it comes to any attempt on Ishgar. Keep this in mind before you take any further action" said Seam with a steel face which turned into a cruel one at the end.

"Yes, sir. I'll remember to tell this to his Majesty" said Yajeel.

"Good. Now be on your way. We don't want this matter delayed any further" said the chairman and Yajeel left the Magical Council office to Vistarion, the Empire Capital.

"That's what happened when I was at Era, Your Majesty," said Yajeel. He was looking at a young man in his 20s sitting on a throne upon a high platform.

"You dealt with it well, Yajeel," said the Young man. This young man is the same person whom Naruto encountered on Tenrou Island a month ago during his S-class trials.

Zeref smiled at the report given by Yajeel. He didn't order it. But it looks like some of his ministers are not satisfied with the status quo.

"I apologise for the attempted invasion without permission, your Majesty," said an old man.

This is August, one of the Ministers and the Magic King.

August is a relatively tall, fair-skinned, well-toned old man with blackish eyes and roughly shoulder-length, wavy, greyish-white hair, with the majority of his bangs swept leftward. He has a short moustache and a lengthy, mildly thin beard that reaches down to his upper torso. Additionally, he has thick eyebrows, a pronounced nose bridge, and high cheekbones. His face has started forming wrinkles because of his age. He also has a dark tattoo consisting of a thick dot surrounded by two circles on the back of his left hand, and two straight lines going from the circles' bottom end down the front of his forearm.

August sports a long, white and purple robe consisting of two major pieces: a long garment that reaches past his knees, with a tattered bottom edge and intricately designed linings on the ends of its sleeves, including a line of dark lozenges, and a shorter, more billowing garment above it, over only his chest area. The longer garb is kept tied together with a thin light girdle made of a seemingly rope-like material. An externally and internally dark-coloured cape is additionally above both parts of the robe, jutting out in sharp, more elongated lozenge-shaped spikes around the back of his head, also having a tattered bottom edge, having the Alvarez Empire's symbol emblazoned on its back, and being kept in its place by a long, less wide cloth tied around it and August's neck, which in turn is held fast by a spherical dark clip. Finally, a dark ring on his right middle finger and plain dark high boots complete the outfit.

"No, August. I know you are busy with other work. There is nothing for you to be sorry about" said Zeref.

"By the way, how does the training of those children going?" asked Zeref with a smile.

"Yes, sir. All of them had large magic containers and were capable of achieving great things in future. Their training is going good" said August in a respectful tone.

"Prepare them well, they are going to be the Shields of this country one day," said Zeref.

"So, Yajeel, they threatened us with Etherion and a 'power' to eliminate magic in our Empire, huh?" Asked Zeref.

"Yes, my lord"

"Good. Let them be satisfied for now. We'll attack when time is right again" said Zeref.

"As you wish," said Yajeel with a bow. The meeting was dismissed and everyone left the throne room. Zeref was left alone to his thoughts without any interruption.

'That boy, he is different' thought Zeref about a certain blonde-haired whisker faced teen.

Meanwhile, With Basil

Basil was running for his life. He didn't stop even to eat, he continued running and after a day, he had reached a haunted building. It was covered in dirt with spider webs all over the place.

It lay in ruins with the rest of the place destroyed due to some kind of monster attack. This is the go-to base for the Dark Guild, Oración Seis.

To hide its actual base of operations, its master, Brain, has come up with this idea. There was a communication lacrima in the house that can directly communicate with the Master.

Basil hurriedly came in and started the lacrima with his magic. The Lacrima lit up and gave a slight pulse after waiting a few minutes, a figure appeared in front of Basil.

"Basil, what happened?" Asked Brain.

"Sir, the attempt was a disaster" said Basil to Brain.

"What! What happened?" Asked Brain and Basil explained everything.

After listening to it, Brain got a good estimate on the blonde boy. A question arose in his mind.

"What happened to Aero?"

"I don't know. By the time I escaped, I know he was fighting with that Jaguar. I don't know what happened after that. I came here in a hurry" said Basil, he can feel Brain's anger even through the magic screen.

"Impudent fool. You left him to fend for himself. I thought you are better than this" spat Brain. Though inside, had didn't feel much as they all are pawns to him.

"So you are here," said a voice. Basil turned back to see the same blonde teen he ran from.

"You have a lot of stamina to run this far in one day. Why don't you tell me who's that large fellow behind you?" Asked Naruto. The image blurred as soon as Naruto entered.

"Basil, do something" yelled the voice. Basil tried to move, but his stomach bloated for some reason. He stared at it in shock.

"Why are you shocked? Didn't I tell you about my light particles, they not only slow your regeneration, but they also merge with your cells and explode when I chose them to," said Naruto with a smile. Basil's face paled in fear.

"Bye, bye. Have a safe journey and say hi to Aero" said Naruto and Basil exploded in blood and gore. Naruto blasted the house as well. He saw a symbol on the walls and the Lacrima in front of Basil. If he finds who does this belong to, he will find the one responsible for this.

"How did it go?" Asked Sirius, landing beside his father, his wings retracting.

"Well, I got this symbol. I just need to find whom it belongs to. Definitely a Guild I guess" said Naruto.

"Good. Now, where?" Asked Sirius.

"I thought of going to our Guild before going to more jobs, but we leave there, I have the most important one on the list to do," said Naruto.

"The S-class job?" Asked Sirius, with a smirk.

"Yup, that one. Don't you think the Guild will feel bad if we didn't do it?" Asked Naruto.

"What's the job?" Aske Sirius. All job requests were with Sirius except the S-class one. As only Naruto is allowed upstairs, he took it and Sirius didn't see it yet. Naruto took out a rolled paper and unfolded it.

'Undead Outbreak' read the title.

'Job Location: Malta Town

Job Description: One night, A farmer accidentally opened a door. That door doesn't exist there and where it came from is not known. From that day forth, swarms of undead started attacking the town. We hired so many mages to do it. But they couldn't do it. We think a Necromancer is responsible for this. You are requested to find the reason and kill all the undead in the town. They only appear at night.

Reward: 2 Million Jewels

Requirement: Only for Holy/Light Magic using mages.

"Undead huh. As in zombies?"

"No, I guess it is about Skeletons. We can't be sure. Whatever, we are going to do this" said Naruto.

"Right," said Sirius and they started their journey to Malta town. Malta is located on the west coast of Fiore while Naruto and Sirius are at Web Valley which is near the north coast. They had a long journey ahead of themselves.

After few hours, Peace Village

They reached Peace village, a town nearby to Magnolia. Naruto smelled a familiar smell and followed it.

"Fire Dragon's: Roar" came the sound of a familiar Pinkett. Naruto saw the fight. Natsu was fighting a large guy.

He has steel armour around him and it protected him from the attack. Natsu didn't give up.

"Fire Dragon's: Wing Attack," said Natsu and sent a torrent of flames towards the man. He dodged it.

"Fire Dragon's: Iron Fist," said Natsu and punched the armour. The steel suit gave in and he was thrown into a shop, destroying it and the fire started spreading.

Natsu was trying to stop it, by consuming them. But they are spreading fast because of the materials used.

"No, no, no. Gramps is gonna kill me if it goes on like this" said Natsu in exasperation. Water fell on all the buildings and the fire was doused. Natsu turned back to see a familiar blonde face.

"Naruto!" Said Natsu and ran up to him. The guy he was fighting was forgotten.

"Finally noticed me, huh," said Naruto.

"Hey, I'm busy fighting that guy," said Natsu indignantly.

"Aye, Sir," said Happy.

"How are you doing, Happy?"

"Aye, Sir," said Happy.

'Did he think when I said his name-. Leave it' thought Naruto.

"Where did you go, man?" Asked Natsu with a straight face.

"On jobs, dummy. Where did you think?" Asked Naruto?

"Oh th-" before Natsu could answer, his stomach grumbled louder.

"Gggggggggrrrrrrhhhhhhh"

"I'm hungry I guess. Hehehehe" said Natsu.

"Aye, aye, Sir '' said Happy, a fish coming into his hand outta nowhere.

"We can discuss over a meal I guess, '' said Naruto. They went to a restaurant to eat. After finding one and ordering, Natsu started taking it.

"Dude, after you disappeared, someone stole most of our jobs and-" started Natsu and explained all the events that happened in the Guild from last month.

Naruto heard them with a fond smile on his face. He didn't think that he would one day be talking with someone he can call his family when he came to this world on that day. He is happy with the current events. They sat and talked during the whole dinner.
