Chapter 3

After walking for a little while they arrive at the farm of uncle Joseph.

Looking around while trying to find his uncle Dan hears the sound of dogs barking. Trying to see where it is coming from he sees to black figures coming at him at high speed.

Before he had time to brace himself the two figures jumped up against him. Because he was not ready for it he fell on his back and the two figures started licking him all over his face.

When he had time to realize that the two figures where in fact the two dogs of his uncle Dan started to get up and pet them.

Because she didn't like that her master fell on the ground Jessy started to bark at the two dogs. Because of the noise that they made his uncle cam out of the house to see what was going on.

Ooh, so its because of you that those two made such a noise said his uncle.

[Hi uncle Joseph, how are you?]

[I'm well Dan, but i think i should be the one to ask you that question. Hope you didn't get hurt because of these crazy two?]

[No uncle everything is alright with me. Well dad asked me to come and see if we could get or bottles of milk refilled.]

[Well Dan you know that is no problem what so ever, but I'm a little bit busy today so if you want you can fill them yourself.

I know you know how to do that, didn't I teach it to you when you were small?]

[Thanks uncle I'll do that, but why are you so busy today?]

[Well I got a call from the milk factory who buys my milk that they need more milk. So now I have to see if I can milk more cows before they arrive the get the milk.

I also needed to cut the grass field to restore the amount of feed we have in the barn attic.

It will be a lot work and I needed to finish it today because tomorrow the truck arrives the pick up the bullocks for the meat factory.]

[Uncle if you need some help I can help you now if you want, I still have some time free before I have to finish my work at home.]

[I would like that, tank you Dan.]

While they where talking about the milking of the cows Dan's aunt came outside to look for her husband.

[Honey, so here you are. Hi Dan how are you?]

[I'm good aunt Mary, and how are you?]

[I'm also good dear, but why are you here?]

[I'm here because dad asked me to pick up some milk, and when uncle told me he was busy today I volunteered to help milk the cows.]

[Ooh, thank you dear we really appreciate your help.]

[No problem aunt, that is what family does for each other.]

[Aunt could you watch Jessy while I go help uncle?]

[I will watch her for you Dan so you men go work.]

So Dan and his Uncle started to go to the barn the begin with the preparations for milking the cows.

When they came in the barn the first thing they did was look if all the cows where fine, so that they could separate the sick from the healthy ones.

That needs to be done because the medication that the sick cows get will go in the milk and the milk that they produce can't be sold to the milk factory for health reasons.

After separating the healthy en the sicker ones they start the herd the cows to the area where the milking stations are.

When thats done they start the milking process, it took them a long time since the amount of cows on the farm is a lot.

When they reached the last of the cows his uncle notices something, one of the cows is wounded.

When they separate the wounded cow from the rest they started to look what was wrong with it.

Because they are worried for the cow his uncle goes into the house to call for the veterinarian to come to look at the cow.

His aunt and uncle care for the cows like family because the cows are what they live from, and they have seen them grow up and where there for the berth of them.

So while his uncle went inside Dan looks at the notifications that he got while helping his uncle with the milking of the cows.

Dan was startled when he saw that his Animal Raising skill leveled up so much.

When he waved away the notices he saw his uncle come out of the house.

His uncle didn't look very happy at the moment so he thought about what to say.

[Uncle is everything alright?]

[Yes Dan all is right, its just that the veterinarian can't come by at the moment because he is at another farm]

[Well uncle can I help you with something else?]

[Thank you for asking, but everything is alright. Don't forget that you have a lot of work to do at home also so you should go home for now]

[Are you sure uncle? If you need I can help cut the grass for you, I'll be done with it within the hour and can go home after that.]

[If you would do that than that would be perfect, you make me a happy man for that.]

[Than I'll start with it now, see you later uncle.] ,

[See you later Dan, but don't forget safety first.]

[I know uncle, mom and dad say the same thing everyday when I start working with machines.]

[They just don't want you to get hurt, you should know that since there are always accidents on the news.]

So Dan starts to walk to the tractor and looks if everything is in order with it.

After checking everything he climbs into the drivers seat and starts the tractor.

Looks in the mirror to see if there is nobody around it and backs it out of its parking place.

While driving it to the hanger with the tractor attachments he watches the road to make sure nothing is on it that he can hit.

When arriving at the hanger he attaches the cutter and drives to the field.

He lowers the cutter unto the field ant starts it and begins the cutting of the grass.

After finishing the field he returns to the hanger to clean the cutter since the cut grass needs a few days before they are mad into bails of feed.

While cutting the grass he got a few notices so now that he is finished he takes some time to look at them.

This skill allows you to raise more produce on the fields that you work. Because of its low level for now it only increases the yield of the field. Higher levels give more rewards.

After cleaning and storing the cutter he returns the tractor to his parking place and goes to say goodbye to his aunt and uncle.

When arriving at the house he hears his uncle talking with somebody on the phone. But he sees his aunt outside with the dogs so he goes the her.

[Aunt I have finished with the cutting of the field so I was planning to go home. But when I planed to go inside I heard uncle arguing on the phone, is everything alright?]

[ Everything is alright Dan its just that the veterinarian can't come till later in the day so your uncle is a bit worried.]

[Oké aunt than I'll go and see if he is no longer on the phone and say goodbye to him.]

[That would be great dear he would like that a lot.]

So Dan went to see if his uncle was still on the phone. When he came to the door he saw that his uncle was no longer on it so he went inside.

[Uncle I have finished the field and cleaned the cutter and stored it, I also parked the tractor on its place.]

[Thank you Dan, you are a big help. Ooh before you go, I have filled the bottles with milk you can take them with you. They are just outside.]

[Thank you uncle, hope that everything will be alright with the cow and that you have a good day further.]

[Thank you Dan, and I hope that you also have a good day and say hi to your parents for me.]

[Will do uncle, will do]

While going outside he picked up the bottles of milk and went to his aunt and the dogs.

[Hi aunt, I'm going now. Hope you have a good day further and hope that the cow will be fine.]

[Thank you dear and hope that you also have a good day further. Don't forget to give our well wishes to your parents for us.]

[I won't forget to do so aunt. Goodbye!]

While walking away he called: [Jessy come on girl, we are going home]
