《Heart Cores have hobbies (HIATUS)》Chapter 5

With the Sleeping Chamber built and Robur's bed in it, I decided to move my Imp into that sleeping chamber as he was done claiming the second room.
Imp has reached level 2!
Imp has reached level 3!
It seemed like my Imp had reached level 3 wich just digging and claiming.
(Its only nine tiles, but if all goblins use the same beds as Robur's, it seems like I can host an army of little green beasts!)
And so I thought while comparing the bed's size with just one tile, the small bed was nothing but two gray sheets on the floor, it was enough comfort for a goblin to rest.
A tile could hold 16 small beds.
"Hey Blue, how many orcs occupy a tile in the sleeping chamber?" I asked Blue.
"They use medium beds, its basically the size of two small beds, so a tile can hold 8 of them."
"Was it necessary for me to build a 9 tile sleeping chamber? Seems like I got a huge waste of space!"
"Ahahah" Blue laughed with the Imp's hand covering his forehead.
His reaction left me a bit confused.
"Am I wrong?" (Red)
Slowly calming himself, Blue told me his opinion.
"Look, trust me, if you have patience, you will even need more than one of these rooms!" (Blue)
(More than one?)
"So you have more than one? Is the big one that I had seen before not enough?"
"No..." He paused for a second. "I have a few of them." (Blue)
"Really! Damm, You seem so ahead of me..." (Red)
Blue took a pause, rubbing his Imp's forehead with the right hand.
"Look, what you said is true, but don't worry too much, you just got born today, if compared to any other race in this Realm, you pretty much are current strongest day 1 creature."
"Why do I feel like a little kid at what you just said..."
"Because technically you are one..."
Silence fell on my Heart room.
Robur stood guard at the entrance while Krogar was between the new rooms as Blue nor me knew what to say.
A couple of minutes passed, my mining Imp had even return with another back of gold, increasing it to 320.
Imp has reached level 2!
"So that's why the month rule..." Blue mumbled to himself.
"Sorry, did you say something?" (Red)
"Ah, nothing, I was just thinking of useless stuff, now why don't you try building a food storage?" Blue suggested, as he was trying to change the topic.

"Oh, yeah, Ill built it now!"
(Now let's see, a 9 tile food storage.)
At my words of my mind, a new tab appeared.
Building 9 tiles of a Food storage will cost you 180 gold.
Do you wish to finish construction?
Yes? No?
(Yes!)
Food tab Unlocked!
Slime has been added to Food tab!
"It's built." I informed Blue.

"Now order Robur to go there, but try ordering him with your mind, not your voice!" Blue told me as he turned around and descended the stairs.
In my thoughts, I tried to give the order.
(Go to the food storage at once! It is the room on the right side.)
Suddenly with a shout, Robur confirmed his order.
"Boss, me go at food room now!"
At the same time, Krogar returned to pick up the dead goblin's body, he then returned with Blue.
I also ordered my level 3 Imp to join the group.
In the new Food storage, stood there two Imps, one goblin and one orc, who where staring at an empty room.
Immediately Blue's Imp started to run, returning to my altar.
"Welcome back?" I told Blue.
"I forgot to tell you to only spawn one slime!"
"Slime?"
(Slime? I think that was the new thing on the Food tab? Give me Food tab!)
Slime
Cost: 1 mana
Basic Info:
Tiny gelatinous cube creature.
Basic nutritious food for minions.
Can easily multiply if requirements are met.
"Only one? But they are cheap!" I told Blue while checking my mana, I had enough to spawn 39 smiles.
Blue smiled again. "Try spawning one and I will show you why!"
Curious about his words I decided to spawn the slime.
(Spawn 1 Slime!)
Creating one slime will cost you 1 mana.
Do you wish to proceed?
Yes? No?
(Yes!)
A tiny fire spirit came out of me, heading with tremendous speed to the Food storage.
Passing by the group that stood at the room entrance, it headed to the middle, forming another tornado, similar to the one of the Imps, but it was smaller.
As it dissipated, a new creature came out of it, a tiny red gelatinous cube that could be fit in a goblins hand.

"No wonder it only costs 1 mana..." I told Blue, checking the little slime from both Robur's and my Imp's eyes.
"Is that thing supposed to feed my Robur and my future minions? It wont be enough!"

"Do not worry, keep looking!" Blue told me as he ordered Krogar.
With his orc strength, Krogar ripped off the goblins left arm and threw it near the slime.
The slime, acting like it hasn't eat in years, moved fast, losing its cube form for a moment, to feed on the arm, wich caused a chain reaction.
Just one tiny piece of meat was consumed, making the slime split in two slimes, and once those two took another bit of meat, the process repeated, with each forming two new slimes.
In seconds, all the flesh of the arm was gone, and on its place were 8 slimes.
But it did not end with just the flesh, as the slimes feasted on the bones as well, it seemed that the bones were better for the slimes, as these 8 slimes divided into three after consuming every last bit of bone.
A total of 24 slimes now occupied the dead goblin's arm place, standing still in their cube forms as their meal was complete.
"Wow... So this is why you wanted me to only spawn one slime." I commented with Blue's possessed Imp on my heart room.
"Yes, as you can see, mana used to summon slimes should be your last choice." Blue wanted to make sure I knew of this, as mana could be recovered, there would be other things for it to be used.
"Alright let's make some more!" At his words, Krogar threw the rest of the body into the slimes.
The larger numbers of slimes made sure the goblin disappeared in seconds, allowing the storage room to have 144 slimes.
"You can order Robur to eat slime, he must be hungry by now, also do me a favor, order your Imp to bring me a slime, please."
"Very well!" I told Blue.
With my approval, Robur walked to the slime group, picking up one of them, fitting perfectly on his hand.
My red Imp took a slime out of the room, running towards the altar, while Robur was slowly eating two slimes.
Giving the slime to Blue's Imp, he immediately ate it.
"Wait, I thought Imps didn't need to eat?" I asked Blue, surprised with his Imp action.
"They don't need to eat, but when you possess them, you can try out the food!"
"Oh, how does it taste?" I asked Blue about my red cube slimes.
"Good, tastes like strawberry, different from mine, wich is blueberries."
Blue told that the slimes were the same color as the Heart Cores, and their flavor were unique per color.
This wasn't the only food available, but first I had to explore this realm, especially the surface where most creatures lived.
"Could you explore the surface with me then?" I asked Blue, as the rooms were finally completed, I had nothing else to do with the exception of awaiting for my Imp to bring more gold.
"Ah, yes, thats the next step, you and I could make a small warband with Robur, one of your Imps, a few of my minions and then..."
Blue stopped his speech and looked at the tunnel once more as Krogar sprinted out of the food storage, returning to his home.
"Tch.."
"Is something wrong?" I asked Blue, as he seemed angry.
"Please possess one of your Imps and come to my Sleeping chamber as fast as you can!" He screamed at me as his Imp ran away following Krogar.
(What the hell is happening?)
Quickly possessing my Imp, I ran towards Blue's Sleeping chamber.
"Hey, you're here!" Blue's Imp was waiting for me.
"Yeah... so what is..."
Before I could finish my question, Blue interrupted me.
"Follow me, quick! Do not fall behind!"
I had no chance to answer as he went past the door going the opposite way of his Heart Core Room.
I followed him for a few minutes, passing by several doors and reaching a new type of room that I did not have.
This room was fully guarded by Krogar, three other orcs and several goblins.
"Come, keep running!" Blue told me as he got past the guarded room.
This room was the end of his territorial body, and the rest of the path was simply made of earth and random rocks.
After running for a few more minutes, changing directions, we reached the last corner.
There was two other Imps standing there, it seemed they were watching out for something.
"Take a look at the corner for just a second, then quickly return, make sure they do not see you!" (Blue)
"Very well..." I told him, a bit confused about what was this situation all about.
Slowly walking to the corner, I decided get down, with my Imps head poking out, I saw several new creatures and turned back around fast, returning to Blue's Imp.
"What were those?" I asked Blue.
"Pink skins!"

Magnus
Updates daily at 23:06 UTC. 2/1/2021 NOTE! This trilogy is being published by Aethon Books starting with book one on 5/1/2021. All books have been removed from RoyalRoad. This story was posted on RR in its entirety before being removed. Magnus Cromwell kills for a living. He’s organized, professional, efficient. Like a machine. But when his family’s life is on the line? That’s something else. That calls for the kind of warm-blooded vengeance that scorches earth and summons tungsten rods from space, leaves a whole lot of melted flesh, and no one to tell the tale. It should've been a blue milk run. As by-the-book as it gets. With his sister Nina out safe and the opposition decimated by hypersonic gunfire, MC wondered where they got the guts to even try. Then something hits him. Lays him out cold, and leaves him waking up to a fantasyland with nothing but his armor and a half-written note to guide him. It's a strange place where even stranger predators eye him for their next meal. Where his life’s on a timer, and where the darkest horrors haunt his dreams, painting visions of death. There's no right day to mess with Magnus Cromwell. But the universe sure managed to pick the absolute worst one. --- - MC is stone-cold, strong(OP), and gets even stronger, but he'll still face his fair share of challenges, both internal and external. - LitRPG-lite. No stats and an unconventional system. Expect abilities and progressions, but there will only ever be a handful of them. - Science Fiction and Fantasy collide, with a touch of mystery, Lovecraft, and body horror. - Professionally painted art scenes! - This series is finished. The bustling crush of humanity had become common place now, the cacophony of voices and the symphony of a city had become the song and dance of our species. But it was not always such, and return back to our more humble roots we did.The system had come, and it had stripped us bare. Sure it had given us a means to power, but at what cost. We were the last 100 left. Night was falling on the human race, it was a dark night, and it was cold. But go quietly we would not. We would make the world burn with an inferno of our defiance. Rage, rage against that goodnight, and I Jack Casser, have rage a plenty. This is my story, the story of the last 100.Author Note: This story is a LitRPG apocalypse, woah fucking original idea I know but hear me out. If you can look past preconceived ideas driven by a stigma of overdone tropes and done to death plots of achieving world domination and self-righteous characters and give the story a chance I hope it can surprise you.
