《Ah, here we go again!》Chapter 7

On Earth, a playful child is seen on top of a tree, climbing. "Lokie, get your ass down there! You child, get down there now! " "Alright!, alright! Mom, I'm coming down. " Lokie came down in a hurry; he almost slipped and fell. Lokie's mom angrily said to him, "Ohh! If you fall, not only will you break a bone, I'll slap you with this slipper!" Lokie came down from the tree and was held by his mother; then she held on to her slipper, trying to slap his bum. Lokie covered his bum with his hands, at the same time dramatically pleading for his mother to spare his little ass! "Mom! No! No!" Lokie pleaded. *Spank!* "Ooohhh! Mom, ouch!, ouch!, mom! " Lokie cried and shouted overly dramatically, even though it didn't hurt him or cause him any pain; he just kept shouting, pleading with his mother. "You, kid!, I left you for a second and you are already on top of the tree!" Lokie's mother continued to spank him while Lokie ran towards their home. In the Nuoveld world, somewhere in an unknown vast forest, an Orkling was talking in his sleep, spouting an alien language, definitely not from this world. "Ohw!, Mom!, stop! alright! alright! I'm going home! "Loki mumbled those words and regained consciousness. "alri-, a dream, my body and muscles hurt, and damn I'm sweating a lot and feel thursty. " Lokie woke up in the middle of the night, sweating. Then the memories from the battle came back to him, and he panicked. He hurriedly inspected his body and found that his wounds were healing; signs of scabbing were seen all over his wounds. "Wow, I'm healing so quickly, or was I unconscious for days. Then it's definitely not good if I had been unconscious for days, and my throat feels irritated." cough! ughm! ughm!, must be the stomach acids I puked. " "I guess my class passive skills are legit!, so I wasn't unconsious for very long!" "Speaking of skills, why didn't I use any of my active skills during that fight? mmmmh!, but then again I never used them before, oh well what's done is done. I'm sure as thursty as hell though!" Lokie tried to stand up but was in pain, though it was still bearable; he was a little bit tired, but he could still move, which is a good indication because it meant he wasn't sick or having a fever. His muscles ached and stiffened as he endured the discomfort. Lokie finally got up, leaning against the tree for support, and took a look around, figuring out where he had placed the corpse of the rodent creature who had nearly cost his life. He moved closer to the body, cautiously bending down and inspecting it. The rodent was being devoured by a dark, hairy maggot the size of his pinky finger. A stench assaulted my nostrils, and he felt as if his stomach acid was ricing up, attempting to exit from his mouth once more. "In Bear Gryll's shows, worms could be eaten as protein! As if!, I'd rather starve than put that hairy ass worm in my mouth! " Lokie stood up and slowly walked forward in the middle of the night, looking for a new location as far away from the rodent's corps as possible. Thinking he should be far from that location, he layed down under the large tree and decided to completely rest for the night. "Even though I don't feel any discomfort from the cold tonight, and I was freezing last night, it could be because I hadn't completely assimilated this Orkling body." "This morning's battle should have greatly increased my assimilation with this body. Even though I don't need a shelter from the cold, I still need to build one for protection, but that will have to wait until next time, as it's already late at night and too late to create a makeshit tent, and I'll only exhaust myself. Who knows if I'll even find any water or food tomorrow? " Lokie laid down, and slowly dozed off, completely falling asleep a few minutes later. Morning came, the birds chirping and tweeting. Lokie slowly opened his eyes and gazed at the large trees in front of him. "No dreams this time, and I'm still stuck in this world; oh well, I got myself into this mess in the first place." Lokie slowly stood up and inspected his body. He found that his condition might not be at its best. But the discomfort from last night was gone, leaving only some muscle soreness from the unexpected intense activity yesterday. "uhhhh! ohhhh! aaaah!, that felt good although a little but hungy and thirsty. it's still bearable" After some stretching, he proceeds to move forward with no direct path in mind, looking for any source of water, the hunger and thirst slowly creeping up to him, it won't be long before he succumbs to it if he doesn't find any source of water or food soon. Fighting would only exhaust him greatly, plus he might again pass out from exhaustion and pain if he survives the ordeal, so avoid any conflict for now and focus on the main objective. Walking for a few hours but still no signs of water to be found. Tired, Lokie walked forward with his hands wobbling, giving it no strength at all. From time to time Lokie would occasionally hear noises from the grasses or bushes, and every time he does he would spring in the opposite direction, exhausting more of his energy; he doesn't want to fight for his life, especially when he is in desperate need of food and water. "This isn't going to work; I'll die from thirst first or from animal attacks before I can find any river, lake, or source of water. I have to find another way. Think Lokie think!" Lokie sat down and rested while devising a new way to get some water. He began to think and remember how those people from the shows gathered water from the wild. "Water droplets from leaves could be one, but with this hot weather, those leaves should be dry by now. hmmm?, what about inside the trees then? " Lokie got to his feet and headed over to the closest small tree he could find, checking to see if he could find a way to get water from it. "Hmm, this tree is too thick for me to drill inside for water. Let's look for thinner trees. " Lokie said as he started walking forward, inspecting every thin, little tree his eyes caught upon. After some time had passed, Lokie discovered a tree that appeared to have water inside. It was a little bit shorter in stature than he was. He pressed it with his finger and felt a soft and not too dry sensation. After some thought about how to extract water, he looked at his hands and shoulders, then decided to screw it and grab a sharp stone, continuously. He kept pounding the tree's bottom until it was almost completely torn from the roots. A few seconds had passed, and Lokie forcefully severed the tree from the bottom. Lifted the tree with his pair of hands above his head, placed the bottom of the tree close to his lips, and squeezed the bottom with brute force, slowly Lokie felt some water on his lips and he began to suck on it. *drip* *drip* *Slurp* *Slurp* "Ahh!, the water tastes a little bit sour, but shit's refreshing. " Lokie continued to squeeze the small tree trunk. When there was hardly any water to squeeze from the bottom, Lokie chewed out the bottom part. Although it's a tree trunk, it's still soft, like chewing a cloth. After squeezing the entire tree trunk dry, Lokie finally felt refreshed, hungry, but at least hydrated. "Now that the water is solved and from the looks of it there are a lot of these small trees in the forest scattered I should be safe until I find a river or a lake, well time to learn how to make fire again." Lokie looked for any dried twigs or branches. After more than five hours of rubbing the pair of branches together, the bottom part finally showed signs of smoke coming out. but not strong enough. It needed something that could easily catch fire. He didn't expect to pull it off this time after a hundred pairs of tree branches were broken apart; Lokie frantically stood up and ran around, deciding to gather all the dried leaves and dried grass, anything that was dry and that could easily catch fire; he grabbed them, hoping this could finally ignite the fire. His hard work finally paid off. A small fire started, slowly engulfing the dried grass, and leaves Lokie had gathered. "Muhahaha! The beacons are lit!, G*n*or calls for aid!, whoot! whoot! " Lokie dances in celebration, but decides to pick up the pace and places all the scattered branches around him to create a simple campfire. Lokie sat down around the fire camp and felt proud of his accomplishment. "It ain't much, but it's honest work. "As Lokie stared at the fire, feeling the warmth on his face, he finally calmed down and began to plan what to do next. "Water is pretty much secured. I can now make a fire, so tomorrow it should be food. So I have to hunt. I can't eat any fruits or berries as they might poison me or cause any unwanted side effects, so I need to hunt. " It has been two days since Lokie had anything to eat. He has got at least another two days, give or take, until he starts to feel weak, so he needs to make use of his remaining time wisely. He remembered the battle yesterday and began to figure out things, things he was good at and worst at. For one, I am a coward; well, it's expected of an office guy to feel scared when he gets into a fight, after all. I didn't spend 4 years in college and most of my childhood life in school so I could learn how to hunt in the forest every time I needed to eat. When I felt like eating, I could just buy it at the store. So my current living conditions are a big wake-up call for me. I need to change, but it's easier said than done. There is a reason why traditions are thought to have started when people were young. Lokie knows he can't change right away, but there is something inside of him that he feels is there and it's the key to his survival, but he doesn't know what it is. He can't put it into a word or in any way describe it. Second, my regeneration is superb; I could be injured today and completely heal tomorrow. Well, not completely, but almost, if I don't lose a limb or die from blood loss. Third, my raw strength is beyond no doubt my greatest weapon. Squeezing the tree bark alone was my greatest discovery; I was not only a man with wisdom but with great strength. Weapons are only secondary. Large rocks and tree branches would break before I could hit my targets, well, small target animals, and I have zero confidence in dealing with larger animals, so I need my plans to revolve around my strength. Making traps is already out of the question. Natural forest traps such as pitfalls or quicksand are good traps. But chances are I would be the one falling into those traps rather than my prey, so I won't actively search for one, and I can't think of a way to bait animals into those traps unless I use myself as bait; but I'm not ready to dance with death yet. "Step 1, wake up early. Step 2, stretch thy muscles. Step 3, scout for a small prey. Step 4, engage in an epic life and death battle with the small prey. Step 5, ???. Step 6, Profit. perfect!"
