Chapter Eight: Quest Part Three
The goblins are charging madly at me with pure and unadulterated hate in their beady small eyes. Each of them releasing their own unique warcry as they ran, It sounds beautiful in it’s own way how each contains the raw hate, angry and fear that they felt towards me, It made my Inner Beast in me howl in concert with them and urging me to release my own roar, to dominate and slaughter these lesser creatures. But I quelled it’s desire and stood waiting for the goblins with a maniacal grin slowly spreading across my face, I would know when I should launch my assault.
The goblins had just crossed the half the clearing with orge leading the charge with it’s warcry the loudest by far, it would not be long till they got to me and I could not wait for it! My grip on my sword shaking in anticipation, my tongue going over my lips, and my body tense with desire to strike out, but I still held my position.
They only have to go a little farther to get to me, and I got into a crouch with my feet digging into the soft soil, I put my sword into a backwards grip and held it tightly not to lose it, my muscle’s felt angry and tense at the restraint like this and I agree, but I only had to wait a little bit longer and It would be time to strike.
The moment the goblin horde got within striking distance, I let the tension in my legs release. The ground beneath me broke exploding deafeningly behind me, the air behind me shook and screamed at me in pain, but I paid no mind to it and shot forward faster than any bullet at the goblins.

They didn’t have any time to react as my supersonic assault hit them, my sword cutting through the goblins before me in a bloody swath, till I came out behind the horde turning around and got ready for round two. I took a brief look at my carnage as my legs dug into the ground beneath me. The goblin's body I cut through, were torn to pieces with where my sword struck them not just cutting them, but shredding them entirely and the organs and gore had been pulled out my the vacuum I left in my wake and the ground beneath has a deep furrow where I moved, and left what could only be described as a bloody trail of destruction.
My smile began turning more brutal, and my Inner Beast urged me to howl and alert the goblins to the monster that has come for them. I agreed with it, and took a deep breathe, and preparing my legs and lungs. The moment before I let my legs burst forward, I let my roar come out of my mouth “OOOOUUU!” My roar came out loud, and brutally shaking the air, and causing the ground to tremble, and easily gaining the goblins attention.
The goblins slowly turning to see the source of the horrific noise I created, and the shock became apparent on their faces seeing the carnage I left and how I was no longer in front of them. But they remain resolute and slowly came at me though trembling and I let my leg’s explode towards them.
I came out the other side of the horde again, and saw my prey had dwindled to one, the ogre who’s been leading this little horde. He turns to face me, towering over me being at least twice my height. His face spoke of pure hate as he looks at me, but also so fear, but the angry seems to have more sway over him. After a moment of staring at me, he charge’s lifting a enormous wooden club and swings down at me, and I dodge back.

His blow sent chunks of gore and dirt into the air, and brought it up again charging at me swinging wildly, but not a blow connecting with me with how predictable his swings are. I dove forward and slammed my hilt into his gut, and he crumble like a sand castle beneath the waves. Coming down to his knees, he’s now eye level with me, trembling and shaking as I stare into his black eyes. I wound my arm back and unleashed a heavy punch to the side of his face, and he got blown onto the ground behind himself.
I slowly sauntering over to the orge on the ground, My blood boiling as I saw him crawling away from me and towards the cave. Reaching him I stomped his back, and heard pops and the cracks of bones breaking, he cried weakly at my brutality, causing my smile to broaden and my Beast to howl. I slowly ground my foot into the ogre's back, driving the shards of bone into his soft fleshy organs, as the ogre weeped and that slowly turns softer and softer.
Done with my fun, I went over to the ogre and picking him up by the neck and stared him into the eyes and before slitting his throat I whispered to him “I don’t like cowards.” And then the light faded from his eyes and he went limp, I then threw his body to the ground, and turning my attention to the cave.
Slowly walking to the cave, I took a good look at my carnage. Gore and blood everywhere, and two large pits where I launched myself at the goblins and furrows that followed them out where I cut through the goblins.
Done admiring my work, I went into the cave which smell pretty nice actually, aside from sweat and blood, but also the scent of wild flowers. I look all over the cave for any old or sick goblins, to just to be sure. But I couldn’t find any, so I sat down and began to wait for any other goblins to show up just in case I missed any.
After a couple of hours, none showed up and I felt my eyelids getting heavy, and grab some pelts the goblins have to make a bed. But before I got ready to sleep, I heard the sound of stone moving, and immediately jump up.
Putting my hands on the wall of the cave, I move my hands up and down trying to find any unnatural formations in the cave. I went from the front to the back, and found in the very back of the cave a part that gave way when I push it. Pushing it I found a sub cave and walk down it. Eventually reaching the bottom I saw dozens of tiny, juvenile goblins and elderly, weak goblins staring at me in fear.

Cybernetic Dragon
Idea Seven, or Inter Dimensional Explorer Automaton Unit-7, has had a bit of an accident. Hijacking the egg of a dragon rather than its intended target of a bird egg, it isn't fully in control of its host brain. Rather the two, dragon and cybernetic AI interface, must work together to survive in a hostile world of magic, dungeons, beasts and adventurers. The AI must deal with being a machine from a world of science trying to carry out its mission of exploration, while the dragon, Rex, must deal with being a cyborg living with symbiotic nanotech that sets him apart from other dragons. What adventures await them? Author Note: I tagged this story GameLit because it contains concepts like levels, classes, and dungeon/beast cores. But, it isn't tagged LitRPG because no one has status screens, other than occasionally Idea Seven who likes to organize data into blue boxes. It isn't a natural function of the world to display level ups or skill ups with an announcer voice. I mention this to set expectations, because otherwise I feel like LitRPG fans might be disappointed by my lack of LitRPG elements while others might be turned off thinking I have a lot of LitRPG elements. I think that if you approach the story with an open mind you will appreciate the gradual way in which the main character learns and expands his understanding of how the world works, but the game mechanics aren't meant to take center stage to the actual story.
