《Rivalry I Live for》Chapter 20. Baldy

Like true nordsmen, we pushed the snow away as we walked on the waist height snow. Scattering it to the wind as breezes passes us.
But there he was, a baldy hovering around the air wingless together with the snow crystals, creating a field of darkness that bursted out of his body and surrounded the mountain like a barrier.

“Regroup!” Frank shouted.
As he did, the mountain covered in cold and icy snow, trembled, cracking open as three platforms arose to the air, scattering the snow on them onto the sides, defying the laws of gravity and hovered above ground.
I fell over, grabbed the edge as Frank caught my other hand. A heavy feeling grabbed my legs as the platforms increased their height above the ground. Climbing I could see dark circles of the demonic hexagon kind appearing around the blackened sky.
The once cold wind and breezy feeling was gone, a stale air and tense surrounded us, the smell of the chilly air to, all that was left was the taste of rustic blood.
As the players balanced themselves on the platforms, the baldy grabbed the air above his head. The circles charged a beam aimed towards him, a neon black covered the baldy. He turned into a egg covered in shadows as it grew larger, cracked open and revealed a faint light.
A claw cracked it open, horns was revealed, a burst of black light forced the players on the platform to the floor, there he was… A renewed baldy with wings.
“ARCHERS!” Frank commanded the players, that fired a barrage of arrows onto the Baldy that deflected it with a breeze by the wing.
With a laugh he pointed a finger towards us. A purple light started to be recharged on top of the nail, a tiny ball… Is that a beam?

Ice shield!? I can’t use my weapon? Why?! Is it because of the dark zone? Ah shit!
“STACK THE HOLY BARRIER!” Frank commanded.
A yellowish barrier quickly covered my vision, with a layer of barriers on top of it.
But it was to no avail, as a laser beam shattered it to pieces and divided the platforms into smaller ones. The players quickly retaliated with barrages of arrows coated in fire, as the magicians cast their lightning spells to paralyze the target.
The sound of thunder pierced the air and hit the baldy, but a tiny smoke just rose from his bald head… Rain started to cover the field, the cold and wet drops stung my eyes and stole my warmth.
“Shit, what do we do?!” I asked.
“Can’t you just that gigantic axe of yours?! I noticed that you have freaking ridiculous amount of strength!” Frank said, as he laid there on the floor helpless.
“I can’t! I need to use it when it is cold! Unless you want to wipe the raid party with my status effect!”
“Ah shit! Magicians! Start showering the air with snow!”
“WHAT?! Why?!” They asked... Well it was ridiculous...
“Just do it or lose the battle!”
“Sorry!”
As the rain made me feel heavy, as the baldy shot out lasers creating shockwaves that pushed us to the ground. The magicians showered the air with snow, confusing the the baldy for a split second.
Calling for my axe, the icy and cold feeling surrounded my gauntlet, gripping tightly so that my hand burned, I took the kendo pose. Axe, grow 15x!
The chilly air surrounded my tiny axe, adding crystals of ice on top of it, creating a bigger layer by the second. But the speed it took was to slow…

“Frank I need distraction!”
“Everyone! Protect the 1337 leet bald destroyer!”
“YEAAAH!” Everyone shouted with their weapons raised and protected me with all sorts of spells like the holy barrier, darkness barrier, or just simply distracting the boss.
“Diamond!”
“Master?”
“Fly to the top of my axe and help me aim the axe later!”
“Yes master!” She saluted and flew to the nonexistent top.
A while after, the baldy noticed the danger and tried to crush the source with brutal force, flying towards me that broke the sound barrier, the tanks quickly covered me with their tower shield. Blocking the strength that broke their shields.
A drop of sweat ran down my forehead… Holy shit, please don’t hit me with that…
The clerics created tons holy barriers that pushed and forced the baldy to the wall surrounding us, with a grin, I said “Diamond, nifelheim!”
“[Nifelheim!]”
Once again a sudden breeze took over everything, stopping the platforms as if time had stopped itself, crystalised frost covered everything, even players, even the darkness. The world was covered in white and black. This lasted longer because I had full mana… Heh.

The Favoured, immortal mages of immense power vie for territory and power in the Fabric. Umbra a naive ward of the Duke is almost Grown and that means she will need to take an apprenticeship. The issue is she isn't good at anything, but she catches the eye of a master of magic, he thinks she might be one of the fabled Protectors the ones that would save them from the coming destruction. But Umbra isn't the hero everyone wants her to be. Updates will at least one chapter every two days. Notable Location Poliagoras. Poliagoras is the most important world in the Fabric partly due to it being the centre of everything both literally and metaphorically. Trade, commerce, travel, and politics are all conducted primarily on Poliagoras, it has the biggest city in the fabric stretching to cover almost the entire world. It also holds all the known Great portals in the Fabric which are the only way to travel to other worlds. Even without these things, Poliagoras would still be the most important world in the Fabric as it is home to the largest population of Favoured. They were mages chosen by the Deities and given the potential to become more than mortal. I cannot overstate how appreciated constructive criticism is. This is the first story I have written of my own volition so even a small comment on how I could improve would be great. The current title is most definitely a working one. I know it isn't great.
