《The Summoner》Chapter 12: Rabbit Ears

“Oppa!!!!” While I was heading toward the two, Ji Hyun ran over and tackled me with a hug. You could see the tears that were on her face when she realized I was here. Ahhhh, I made her worry.
“Oppa! I’ve been looking for you for over 2 months! Everyone was worried sick over you. I got scared that something might have happened to you….”
While bawling her eyes out, she scolded me. Smiling at the cute scene, I pat her head, letting her cry it out. After what she had said, even though it wasn’t my fault, I really did feel sorry for worrying her. I didn’t really care too much about my house, but if there was one person I didn’t want to worry it would be her. While patting her, I see Dal Rin behind her looking at us with interest.
“Ah….a sis con huh…”
“…”
Just now realizing we were in the open, I slowly stand up and help Ji Hyun out. Afterwards I introduce the two to each other.
“Dal Rin, this is my little sister from my world, Ji Hyun. Ji Hyun ah, this lady over here is the princess of this kingdom, Princess Dal Rin”
“Nice to meet you princess”
“No no, the honor is mine Ji Hyun shi”
While bowing to each other, they said a polite greeting towards each other. Ah, the view was truly nice seeing my cute sister and the beautiful Dal Rin talking, making me smile. After greeting each other, Ji Hyun came over to my side and whispered to me.
*Oppa, the way that the princess is looking at you is weird. Did you seduce her?!*
*Oi oi….. just how do you see your oppa?!*
*You have always been popular among the ladies, but never showed any interest to them. The way you look at her though is different…hmm is she my future hyung su nim? (Korean for wife-in-law)*
*…..haa. Did that damn Draconian hit your head too hard?*
*Interesting… oppa’s actions are too suspicious…*
I gulp. The way that my sister was glaring at me and questioning me was truly scary. Why am I only surrounded by scary women?! Trying to change the subject, I cough quickly and bring up a new topic.
“*cough* anyways guys, why don’t we go back to the palace? Let’s rest and figure out what we’re going to do next”
Everyone nodded and we headed back. Once we got back, everyone headed to my room as if it was natural. Oi!!! Why is it my room?! Sighing in my head, I open the door and let everyone in. After that Hyun Jin, Ji Hyun, and I exchanged information about what had happened in the last two months. Ji Hyun explained how both our families were looking for Hyun Jin and I. After looking for a while, she had stopped figuring we would be okay as I was strong enough to protect the both of us and started training again. After a while she had finally caught her second summon, the unicorn Arion. I then began explaining what had happened to us. Ji Hyun became really surprised at the part about the demon army’s attack but just nodded her head when she heard I defeated them.

“As expected of oppa, there’s no way a small army of demons can beat a true demon lord…”
“Yup, ever since I became friends with him, I knew he’d become one…”
“Omo, Ji Hyun shi, you said exactly what I wanted too…”
“….OI WHO DO YOU THREE THINK YOU ARE CALLING A DEMON LORD?! AH?!!!”
“”KYAAAH RUN AWAY BEFORE THE DEMON LORD EATS YOU!!”
At that Dal Rin and Ji Hyun starts running away while I chase them. Hyun Jin is just watching and laughing at us. Truthfully, I was smiling while chasing them. I was worried about this before, but it looks like Dal Rin and Ji Hyun will get along. This kind of environment was truly peaceful and enjoyable. After a while we stop and begin our next action.
“Yo Lee Hyun, so what do you think we should do next?”
“Hm…. Truthfully I think I need to train you more Hyun Jin. Even though you have become a lot stronger, it wouldn’t hurt to be prepared for the worst case. Also since Ji Hyun is here, I also need to train her. She really has become stronger which I am proud of but in the case I’m not there, I need to know she’s strong enough to take of herself. So why don’t we all go on a training trip? Dal Rin, you know any good areas around here where we can train and fight strong monsters?”
“South of the kingdom at the edge of the forest, there are some humanoid monsters that our people have some difficulty against. There is also a large clearing there that’ll be pretty good for training”
“Perfect. In the morning, we’ll pack up and head over there. Dal Rin, you coming? While I’m at it, I’m thinking about training you in the form of our Moonlight Sword Form”
“Omo, really~? I would love to learn!”
*Hyun Jin oppa, what is with this pink atmosphere between those two…*
*Haa, just deal with it Ji Hyun ah. They been like this for a while…*
*….You’ve had it tough huh Hyun Jin oppa?*
While I did hear their whispers, I activate Let it go!! Ahah just kidding but anyways after that everyone left to their own rooms to get some sleep before we go on our training.
The next day at dawn, everyone had come down packed for our trip. Everyone brought a couple days’ worth of food, but mostly just spices since we could catch our own food in the wild. Even though it is my sister, I must admit she is an excellent cook! One of the things I’m looking forward to with this trip is finally eating her food again!
The trip was easy going and relaxing. We took our time with an easy pace as we weren’t really in a hurry and it had been so long since Hyun Jin, Ji Hyun, and I had been together. The addition of Dal Rin also made it a lot of fun. Dal Rin and Ji Hyun also talked a lot together about their own worlds and were becoming friendlier. Hyun Jin and I smiled at the scene because it was really nice to see. Anyways, after three days we arrived at the clearing.

From there, I began teaching the three by going over all the forms of the Moonlight Sword Forms. The first form was the Dance of the Brilliant Moonlight. This is a footwork movement where you moved so quickly that you left an afterimage where you were, just like a reflection of the moon in the water. The second form was the Twin Crescent Moons. This was an attack used when you were facing several enemies surrounding you. You would make two quick slashes that left two semicircular line drawn, attacking all of your enemies within a 360 degree radius.
“Next up, is the third form, Moon’s Beams. This is where you release 6 quick slashes at your enemy. You aim for their knees, their elbows, the chest, and finally the neck. The advantage of this form is that it is very useful in a battle against a single entity. Depending on the situation, you can change the order of attacks and this form also uses the momentum of your slashes and magic to speed up your body and let you attack faster, Here now let me show you demonstration”
I then show them an example of the form. I get into the stance. My left foot was out to the front while my right was about 6 inches behind it. My left hand was on the sword sheathe while I grabbed the sword tightly with my right. At first I just stay in that position as I try to gather pressure in my muscles that are already bent and magic to enforce my muscle, ready to spring out at any moment. The next instant, I burst forward. The first slash was toward the imaginary enemy’s left knee. I use my moment to do a turn and aim this time at the enemy’s right elbow and right knee. After those attacks, I forcefully stop my forward progress with magic and leap forward, doing a thrust at the enemy’s neck.
“And that is how the Moon’s Beams is performed. Next I will show…”
“KYAHHHHH!!!!”
As I was about to teach the 4th Sword Form, a loud scream could be heard. Hyun Jin and I immediately dash toward the sound while Dal Rin and Ji Hyun follows from behind. While approaching the scene, I could begin to tell the situation.
In the area, there were a number of ugly green humanoids that had huge bulging muscles. They all had two thick tusks that grew out of their lower jaw. They looked pretty much like how anyone would think an Orc looked. The orcs were dressed with only a loin cloth covering their lower parts and each had an axe in their hands. They were currently surrounding three other humanoid figures. At a closer look, there were two adults and one child.
The two adults were currently laying on the ground, with blood coming out from what was slashes by those orcs. Around them were no weapons, they didn’t have anything to protect themselves with… These adults were pretty tall themselves, around 6’4 in height both. One of them was a male that was dressed up in a cotton shirt and some trousers. The other was a lady that had on a blue dress that covered all of her body except for her legs beneath the knee. Truthfully they were both good looking but what stood out about them were their unique features: rabbit ears. These people were the heard of beast people in this continent.
The girl beside them that was pulling on their clothes, trying to wake them up while crying was really small. She must not have passed her 4th birthday yet. With her short arms, she was shaking her mom while desperately calling for her parents with large eyes that were filled with tears.
“PAPA!! MAMA!! WAKE UP!! JIAN IS SCWARED!! PAPA!! MAMA!! WAAAAAH!!”
Seeing the child so pitiful, anger flew through my body. The orcs closed in on the little girl and one of them slowly raised their axe.
“Hyun Jin, I’m heading over to that child, you take care of the rest till I get there”
“Sounds good Lee Hyun”
With that brief conversation I use Dance of the Brilliant Moonlight and moved to in front of the child, blocking the downward swing of the axe. Surprised at the sudden appearance of me, the orc made a dumb look that would be it’s last as it’s head went rolling.
“Oii…. You bastards. You guys seem like you’re enjoying yourself taking out someone weaker than you….Let me return the favor!”
With that, Hyun Jin and I massacred the orcs. We both swerved through their ranks with Dance of the Brilliant Moonlight, taking all the orcs in our surrounding out with one thrust or slash. While this was happening, Ji Hyun and Dal Rin went to the rabbit eared people. When we had finally taken out the last one, I headed towards them.
When I reached them, before I could even ask, Ji Hyun with moist eyes slowly shook her heads. Ahhh… so the parents really were dead… Dal Rin right now was hugging the little child who was bawling her eyes out. The sound of the child crying was really heart wrenching, as she had lost what seemed like her parents. Picking up the adults, we slowly headed away from the scene filled with bodies and blood back towards the Capital of the elves.
