《The Phoenix Hero [DROPPED]》Chapter 046 - Labyrinthos

This is currently the last arc that I have planned out. After this, chapter releases might come a lot slower. There should be a few side stories with Serph coming out between the chapters as well to see some of the things that he is up to. There's random time skips as Akiza's element training is just plain bad.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Akiza and Cixi made their way to Labyrinthos. As they got closer to the destination, there were more and more people. Along the roads were also many pit stops for travelers.
"There's so many people!" said Akiza. "I thought the school was a lot, but this is even more!"
Akiza was surprised. Some of them were not even human. There were people tall skinny people with pointy ears. There were people who had animal ears on their heads. Dog ears, cat ears, rabbit ears, even horns!
"Is it your first time seeing these kind of people?" asked Cixi.
"Yes," said Akiza. "Even in my travels with my parents, I have never seen so many different kinds of people."
"Just wait until you actually reach Labyrinthos," said Cixi. "There's even more people there. People from all over the word visit places like Labyrinthos to train and become stronger."
Along the way, Cixi was asked by many people to join them, but she refused. Those who kept trying were met with a kick or a slap to the face. When those people got mad, she would draw her sword and back off.
"These men are not interested in strength," said Cixi. "You must be careful of people like them."
"Okay Master," said Akiza. She had no idea what Cixi was talking about, but agreed.
At nights, Cixi would teach Akiza how to make shapes with her fire, but Akiza could only make a ball. Anything that resembled another shape was still too difficult for her. If she made something long that resembled a spear, it did not have the piercing power of a spear and would break apart like a normal flame the moment it came into contact with something. It behaved exactly like her balls of fire. A true fireball had explosive power whereas a true flame spear had piercing power. Right now, Akiza's fire lacked the qualities that Cixi's water had when it changed shape. Akiza was something still missing. If she wanted to be able to defeat Cixi or Master Saki, she would need to be able to make her flames into something with more power.

"What am I doing wrong?" asked Akiza.
"It is not something you learn overnight," explained Cixi. "You are still just creating the element. You are not giving it a shape."
"Okay Master," said Akiza.
In two weeks time, the two arrived at Labyrinthos. It was a big city built around a hill. There were tens of thousands of people who lived there. At the very center was a large building. All around it were numerous buildings that included houses and stores.
"Cities make me tired," said Akiza. "Too many people, too many things." She had always felt uncomfortable in areas with a lot of people in a small area. This was no different.
"You just have to learn to block out what is not important," said Cixi.
Akiza drooled as she looked through the windows of bakeries. "Those look delicious," she said as she stared at cake.
"And cake is what you think is important huh? We can stop at one store," said Cixi. "Only one."
"I want cake!" said Akiza. "But which one...."
Cixi eventually just dragged Akiza to one because Akiza could not decide. "This is so delicious!" said Akiza.
"Do you like it?" asked Cixi.
"Yes," said Akiza as she nodded her head.
"If you make enough progress or learn to keep the shape of your flames, then you can have more," said Cixi. This was her trap. She was going to use food to encourage Akiza.
When the two finished, they headed to the hill. Along the way, there were many stores. These stores seemed to deal with equipment and monster parts. "Maybe one of these peple can make me an Artifact," Akiza thought to herself. On the hill was a large building. Akiza looked up in amazement. The size of even the largest buildings at West Wind Academy could not compare.

"The items here are of too low quality," said Cixi. "Emperor Stage items are far more rare and give off a much stronger sense of Internal Energy. I doubt anyone would even have one for sale in a place like this."
"Come on, let's go inside," said Cixi. The two entered the silver gate and into the building. It was even larger inside. It was almost like another city. The inside did not even resemble anything like the outside. There were multiple floors of stores, each dealing in very high quality items. Restaurants, inns, and even food stalls. There were numerous people coming and going."This is the real Labyrinthos," she said.
There was a very strong presence of Internal Energy in the area. It was similar to that of the Immortal Realm that Akiza had been trapped in earlier that year. "It must be because of an Immortal," she thought. That was when she felt something strange.
"I feel someone watching me," said Akiza. "I can't tell where it is coming from."
"Strange," said Cixi. "I don't feel anything," she said as she looked around. All the strong sources of Internal Energy present were from other people that she could see, but none of them were paying any attention to Akiza.
"Let's get you registered first," said Cixi. Cixi brought Akiza to the circular table at the center of the first floor. There were several people here. As Akiza looked around, she saw that Points were being used as some kind of currency here.
"Just fill out all your information on this paper," said the woman behind the desk.
"Thank you," said Cixi. "You can read and write right?" Cixi asked Akiza.
"Yes Master," said Akiza. "I'm not that stupid."
When the two finished filling out the papers they handed the woman behind the desk the papers and she handed them a card. It looked like the one from West Wind Academy.
Name: Akiza Himura
Gender: Female
Age: 8
Team Name: West Wind
Rank: 1
Points: 0
"Why put West Wind?" Akiza asked. "Won't that tell them who we are?"
"It is just a team name," said Cixi. "It's not like everyone thinks it is the school right away. Besides, it is just for us to use. As long as no one steals it from you, then it is not a problem."
Hearing those words, Akiza immediately put the card away in her Dantian. A place that no one except her could reach. "I feel it again!" said Akiza. "Someone is watching me."
Cixi quickly looked around, but she could not see anyone who stood out from the crowd because of so many people. She tried to use her senses, but there were too many people with Internal Energy to pick people out closely. "Maybe she's just paranoid," thought Cixi. "Being trapped in a forest for a year with things trying to kill you would do that."

Necromancer's Resolve
Foster Locke's life wasn't the harshest it could have been. But it wasn't the easiest either. Despite losing the last of his family and having immense debt thrown on him, getting the chance to keep practicing Martial Arts pulled away, and having a completely messed up sleep-schedule, he usually tried his best to stay positive to the outside world. Of course, that wasn't always possible, especially not when he was staring into the glowing eyes of a man-eating creature he had never heard of before. The glowing message-box that accompanied it wasn't much better either. Not to mention the fact that he was suddenly in a dark forest instead of the train station. This isn't a story of great anguish, inescapable peril, or heroic world-saving. Rather, it's one of a young man trying to get by in a world that seems to try his best to kill him. I hope you enjoy the read. --- Cover Image temporary [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
