《Transient Fire Works》Epilouge to Chapter 12: A good surprise

While Jin was training in qi, Lucian was watching everything he was doing. Lucian was shocked that Jin was able to progressed so quickly.
'.... We nerfed him so many times and yet he is still able to practice like this? Whelp, I really should not be surprised. But I really wanted an apprentice to teach from the basics...." Lucian thought to himself sulkily.
What Jin was actually doing was more than just qi training. He absorbs qi, utilized it to repair the damaged tissues, nerves and muscles and reinforced them. But over all, Jin was able to bring back those dead cells and pump new life into them. Lucian was shocked to find out that Jin was already able to use qi to fully repair damaged nerves! But to restore life to dead cells? This was something that took him decades to do and yet Jin was already able to do it. 'Damn. What kind of qi training is he doing? I didn't teach him this! He is like a natural sink hole! But what is more shocking is his ability! The qi training originally was not able to restore dead nerves or tissues. Its original purpose is to reinforce the body and the cells that were already alive. Qi repairing the nerves is something that slowly happens and often the repairing process is slow. But Jin was already able to use qi to the next level to repair and restore those dead tissues and nerves!' Lucian was slightly jealous of Jin.
When Lucian came up to inspect Jin, he was a little more surprised. 'The hell? This is his qi center? I thought we sealed it up to be a lot weaker and smaller! How in world was it able to-' Lucian scowled in his mind. But he couldn't say it. But Lucian thought to himself and smiled. 'Actually, this might be a good thing. With things being as they are, he might just become a saint within the three years and maybe even faster.'
But Lucian also chose to slow down the process. He passed down his qi knowledge of how to gather and circulate qi, knowing that it will slow Jin down. He didn't want Jin to advance too fast or else it will lead him down a path of strife. What he passed down to Jin was still good but it sealed up his previous qi training techniques so he will temporarily forget the techniques. It showed him a way to naturally hide the level of his qi even if he was not trying to. If his enemies actually were to be qi practitioners in the future, all the enemies will feel is the strength of a beginner while the real level will be tens or hundreds of times stronger.

Lucian wasn't really worried about Jin's personality. But Lucian was more worried if Jin was a lot stronger and if there could be a chance that a qi practitioner might actually comes along before Jin becomes a saint. Even if it was a rare chance, Lucian wanted to be safe and keep Jin away from harm until then.
When Lucian deemed that qi training was sufficient, he stopped and let Jin be on his way home. Lucian came back to reside in Jin's mind where many other figures also resided.
"So, how was he Lucian? Is he still?" a man's voice came out. Lucian already knew who the man was. He recognized the voice to belong to Ren.
"Ah yeah... about that... I'll slow him down. As we suspected, even if he was sealed up with a bunch of heavenly and demonic seals and even if his memories are gone, his body still remembers. Thus, we need to slow him down" Lucian said.
"*Sigh* Don't you remember Lucian? If he doesn't get strong fast, those bastards will come back to find him" A different voice said. It was a the man on the far right end. The very last person. The figure was still shadowy but the souls was almost as much as Lucian.
"Well.. I have my reasons. I don't want Jin to lose his own self just because of some jealous bastards. But if the time comes, I am sure that Jin will act according to the situation when needed" Lucian said calmly.
"I hope you are right Lucian. But moving on. How is his qi center?" Ren said.
"Oh that? Hmmm... If we were to say that everyone else has a qi center and in that center is a sea of qi, then Jin would be worlds far away. Heh heh..." Lucian chuckled.
"Oh? What is that suppose to mean?" Ren raised an eyebrow.
"Hmmm... it means, instead of having a sea of qi, he has oceans of qi." Lucian said lightly.
"WHAT!?" Everyone was shocked.
"Mmmm. So he is like us. He has oceans of qi" The person on the far right said. The very same person as before.

"Not quite Ban. Remember, he was sealed many times. So he is suppose to have only a sea of qi. But now it turns into oceans of qi. Don't you find that it is strange?" Ren interjects.
"Ah. Right you are Ren. He was supposed to have only a sea of qi. But then, what if the container grew? But more so, what if Jin unconsciously created several containers just by entering the world of qi?" Lucian questioned them all.
"You know what you just said was a load of bull right? No one can create several containers. They can only be born like that and even then it is rare. Only those of the highest planes are able to form a second sea of qi and only up to a third sea of qi. What you are implying that he is forming oceans, not seas, inside of himself just by stepping into the world of qi." Ren pointed out.
"Remember. He is like us. He is us in a way. So it is not surprising. But the surprise doesn't end here." Lucian gave a wicked smile.
"Oh? Tell us. It can't be more surprising than to form multiple oceans of qi. Having a lot of oceans of qi isn't all that good. All it means that it would be harder for him to train into a saint qi level wise" Ban said. Ban knew that when training in qi, condensing qi was one of the hardest part of qi training. Condensing a sea of qi is hard but an ocean of qi was an astronomical amount of energy to be condensed into a purer form. If Jin was in the initial stage, he would only be able to suck in little amounts of qi with slight impurities in energy.
"Heh... You'll regret saying that Ban. Even when I was slowing him down, he was still able to suck in a lot of qi but it seemed bottomless. The only reason why he stopped was because of those seals. But this is not what I am referring to" Lucian said.
"Well then tell us. Stop keeping us waiting dammit." Ren was agitated. He hated suspense.
"*Snort* Fine." Lucian was annoyed when Ren ruined the fun. "Twin. Qi. Planes"
"WHAT!?" Each figure shouted in unison. Only moments later... "*PFFFT* HA HA HA HA HA HA" They all roared out in laughter.
"This is a good surprise! Who would've thought this would happen even after so much seals was placed on him? No wonder you wanted for him to slow down." Ren was extremely pleased. When he heard qi planes, he felt his entire body shook in delight.
In the middle of their laughter, Lucian said, "Mmmhmm. So just trust me. I know what I am doing." Lucian closed his eyes and gave a sigh. He thought back to his days as a scholar towards the end of his life. Just like Jin, when he first entered the world of qi, he wanted to keep on training and advance far into the world of qi. But misfortune continuously fell upon him. At the end of his life, he found out the reason why misfortune befell on him and he felt wronged. Lucian gathered his strength into his lungs and released a strong bellow. Soon, the rest followed along Lucian and they too roared proud and strong causing ripples of qi inside the space they were in. Lucian then fiercely declares, "Brace yourselves you false heavenly bastards! Enjoy your dream while it last!"

The Oresteia (Modernized)
All three of the great Greek Tragedians have written plays about the bloody chain of murder and revenge within the royal family of Argos. Yet theirs is in fact not a story of tragedy, but rather one of redemption. As they move from darkness to light, from rage to self-governance, from primitive ritual to civilized institution, their spirit of struggle and regeneration becomes an everlasting song of celebration to be heard throughout the ages. Forming a discourse set against the emergence of Athenian democracy out of a period of chaos and destruction, the Orestian plays are compelling stories of the tensions between our obligations to our families and the laws that bind us together as a society. In the beginning, we witness how a king’s decision to sacrifice his daughter and turn the tide of war inflicts lasting damage on his family, culminating in a terrible act of retribution. In the aftermath of regicide, we behold how a son must set out to avenge his father’s death by committing a most egregious sin. In the end, the sinner is tormented by supernatural powers that can never be appeased, but ultimately finds redemption and ends the curse on his house once and for all. Woven through all of this is the story of a friendship so close that it elevates itself to brotherhood - Where the blood of the covenant is shown to be indeed thicker than the water of the womb. In this very brief twelve-chapter modern rendition of the Orestian plays, I have chosen to place my focus mainly on the lives of the characters Orestes and his best friend Pylades. The chapters, each around 2000-2500 words, are split up evenly between them in first-person narrative. I hope that you will come to enjoy reading this heartwarming story, but more importantly, that you see how the conflicts portrayed in the story, whether human or institutional, are still much very relevant to our societies today. Note on Sources: The details of this story is very loosely based on The Oresteia by Aeschylus. And I mean very loosely. Other sources that I referenced for detail and inspiration are Mythology by Edith Hamilton, Electra by Sophocles, and Iphigenia in Tauris by Euripides. You may also find that I have quoted some of these works, and others (such as Shelley's Ozymondaeus), without citations (average of 1-2 such quotes per chapter). I did this because I do not have the ability to describe certain scenes nearly as well as some of those writers. If you read a particularly beautiful piece of prose here, chances are it's probably stolen lol. Also, I wrote this during the summer between my high school senior year and my college freshmen year. It was the summer of 2020, and being quarantined apparently gets my creative side out lol.
