Chapter 12
When we finally made it to the large cave that housed all the zombies we took a break to strategize and to rest.
"What is the most powerful area-of-effect holy spell you know?" jack
"Holy inferno, although I can only cast it once before running out of mana." selena
"Hmm, let me try something" jack
I concentrate all of my will power onto my mana pool trying to move it into selena, failing that I try to move a small amount of mana into her, it works.
'Check skill mana link' jack
mana link skill type: activerarity: greatLevel: 1Exp, 2%Description: this skill allows you to link your mana pool with another mana pool. You can store mana in metals and gemstones, some metals and gemstones are better at storing mana than others. Higher levels increase range, higher levels allows you to store more mana in metals and gemstones.
I find myself smiling like a madman as I consider the possibilities.
"What are you smiling for" ghost
"A skill that allows me to connect mana pools" jack
I try connecting my mana pool to all of my companions, it doesn’t seem to be limited by number of connections only range. A look of surprise registers on everyone’s face when they check their statuses showing that they have a lot of extra mana flowing between all of us. I start to poor mana into my weapon; to my surprise it can contain exactly 2765 mana.
'Lets check that skill latter' jack
I then use every ones mana to enchant every ones weapons, unfortunately the max mana I could fit into any of their weapons is 158.
While filling up on mana we start to discuss strategy.
"We fight defensively. Protect the rear guard, especially selena as she will be in charge of taking out large amounts of undead" ghost

"Also the zombies give almost no experience, or at least the normal ones don't" jack
"Alright, let’s do this" Johanna
We get into formation and ghost turns into her wolf form. As soon as we enter the cave selena starts chanting. After about 20 seconds the zombies notice us. As soon as ghost uses intimidate we start attacking the nearby zombies that weren’t attracted to ghost. Unfortunately for us that about half of them, all heading directly toward selena.
'Their angered by the magic she’s leaking out' ghost
"Shit" jack
More and more of the zombies are coming towards selena. After ghost uses intimidate only about half of the new zombies go toward her.
'These guys are soo weak. I haven’t even taken a single point of damage yet' ghost
I laugh a little as insert my executioner's short sword into the head of a zombie. Then I see it, a blinding white light flooding the room litterly dissolving the zombies like acid. I check my mana and notice that it is empty, along with everyone else’s mana. Fortunately all of the normal zombies are dead. They were weak but had a massive advantage in numbers, like swarm type enemies in a TD game strong against strong slow attacks, but weak against area of effect damage.
"Ho ho ho, I’m impressed. You managed to destroy all these lesser undead with just one spell."???
"Who the hell are you? Santa?" Johanna
'Master, who is Santa?' ghost
'I’ll tell you latter. Lets deal with this guy first' jack
"Now now, having a telepathic conversation while I’m talking to you is rude”???
"How did you-" jack
I was cut off by a wry old man in a dirt stained suit with a shoulder length grey beard.
"Oh, the principle" jack
"Where are the other faculty?" selena

"Ho ho ho, their right here" principle
As he says that a couple hundred undead come out from an unseen hole in the wall.
'Observe' jack
greater zombie
Hp: 1500/1500 sp: 1500/1500 mp: 0/0
Description: this is the zombie of one of the teachers at your high school; it is much more powerful than most zombies as it was made by genius necromancer strengths: elemental magic
"Now, you are in for a treat. Not everyone gets to see a lich being made." principle
"Oh, that sounds like something I want to see" jack
A couple zombies bring the body of a girl over. The principle closes his eyes and starts a chant. I see some sort of energy going into the body of the girl, mana I assume. After a couple minutes of watching another force starts to pour energy into the body, this energy doesn't seem to be mana; it is colder, more hostile. I realize that it's probably whatever is going to posses the corpse causing it to turn into a lich instead of a normal zombie.
skill obtained: mana sensing
skill obtained: apt student
through observation you have learned the basics of necromancy
after about ten seconds the other force starts to pour mana in much faster while the principle seems to be drying up. the principle won’t be able to control this one. after another minute the lich stands up. she looks at the old man and smiles, cruelly. after about 10 seconds she rips his thought, and eats it.
"it's been a while since I’ve had a physical body" lich
"one hundred years right?" jack
"how did you-" lich
"that how long ago there was a lich in this world" jack
"oh, you're an interesting one" lich
as I watch the lich I realize that this is not an opponent I can win easily against. I instantly want to fight her, 1v1. suddenly she points at me and says.
"you seem strong, I want to fight you." lich

The Kodoku Game
In Japanese folklore, there once existed an ancient technique among alchemists for harvesting the strongest poison known to man. A poison so vicious, so horrendous, that a single drop could incapacitate an entire nation of humans, several times over. A poison so intense that a single drop could turn the tides of a war on its head. As potent as it appeared however, this poison could be harvested from the blood of a single insect alone- an insect the alchemist’s called the ‘Kodoku’. As lucrative as was attaining this poison however, the problem lied in identifying this insect- its appearance, shape and size changed from region to region and from continent to continent. Sometimes it took the appearance of a ladybug and other times a horned-beetle. In order to determine the identity of this special insect the alchemists came up with an ingenious method. They created an impregnable jar of clay out of the best sandstone they could find and placed hundreds of different insects into the same jar. The jar was made with such great mastery that it allowed no insects to escape and allowed no objects to enter. The laws of nature dictated that the insects would remain together in the jar forever. However, it turned out that as time went on, the insects’ hunger for food and power caused them to turn against each other- one insect ate another until only one remained. This sole insect contained a poison that far surpassed that of all the others and became stronger as it ate more and more insects. The alchemists at this point had succeeded in identifying the Kodoku and could extract it’s poison as long as they continued to feed it regularly. Although this folklore ends here, the actual story does not. One day, as the alchemists cheered in joy of having identified the Kodoku they so eagerly wanted, they forgot to close the lid on the very jar that was considered to be completely impregnable. This small gap was just large enough for the Kodoku inside to crawl out. Famished from not having been fed for weeks, the Kodoku ended up eating the very alchemists that nourished its growth until not even the bones remained. Yet, the Kodoku’s hunger didn’t seem to subside in the slightest. So it traveled to the next village and began eating whatever it could find there. Its poison made it unparalleled in strength and slowly but surely it began to dwindle down the population of the entire city. Yet its hunger only continued to grow. So it traveled to the next city over and ate all it could there. Very soon, the Kodoku couldn’t find any more food to eat. There was no one left to eat and no one left to spectate. So it stood there, by itself pondering what possibly was left to eat that could satiate its hunger. But there was one thing left that Kodoku realized it had never eaten. Itself.

I'm Sure It'll be Fine! ...right?
We live to die, and die to live again. This Cycle continues, neither to Begin nor End. Ever Beginning, never to End, we come to the story of our Unusual Friend. The Gods are as varied and unique as the mortals that worship them. Some are kind, others are fluffy, and (given the nature of the multiverse) a few are Eldrich Abominations of Unspeakable Horror. But that's fine, those few tend to mind their own business... At least until an Eldrich Abomination (an interdimensional cosmic slime-mold specifically) gets itself devoured by a Lich during a ritual to obtain Godhood... Especially because anyone, even a Lich, who's willing to eat an ENTIRE COSMIC SLIME-MOLD for any reason, even godhood, is undoubtedly a madman...who's now set his unsightly gaze upon replacing (likely by devouring) the Godess of Magic herself! She could probably use some help...if only to avoid touching the slimy Lichgod directly. Also, the Eldrich Gods are protesting these events in their usual manner...by trying to destroy all of Creation.
