side story 2
Lucy pov
arg, that last life didn't work out to well. I was put into the body of a serial killer by a psychotic necromancer bent on world domination. unfortunately the necromancer was extremely powerful so I couldn’t even lift a finger if he didn't want me to. the first place we attacked was a small secluded village on top of a mountain. it was a 4 day fight ending with our total annihilation. the tens of thousands of undead my master had created were crushed by a village of martial arts maniacs. needless to say that life ended with my death after only 2 months.
needless to say I decided that this time I would do it differently, not that I wouldn't fight. but I wouldn’t become an evil lich that goes about killing everything that hadn't already died. I loved fighting, especially challenging opponents.
as it turns out this body's name is Lucy. I stand up in this new body turn meat the eyes of my new master. I see something similar in him as in my previous master. I rip his throat out and eat it before he can give me an order. before all the undead around me go on a rampage I take control of them.
"it's been a while since I’ve had a physical body" Lucy
"one hundred years right?" ???
"how did you-" Lucy
"that’s how long ago there was a lich in this world" ???
"oh, you're an interesting one" Lucy
as I look at this boy I begin to wonder if he came from that same village, which would explain how he knew when I was last alive as I was only alive for 2 months. he holds himself like someone experienced with fighting skilled opponents.
"you seem strong, I want to fight you." Lucy

"very well, but I would like to know my challengers name" jack
"Lucy is my name" Lucy
"you can't be serious?" sally
"its master, he loves this kind of fight" ghost
"don't worry I’ll have these mindless keep you company" Lucy
"sounds fun" ghost
"it would be a good chance to test to my speed" Johanna
"not that I can control them and fight anyway" Lucy
"you mean we have to fight all of these greater zombies?" selena
"and all the other undead I’m keeping at bay" Lucy
unfortunately, as I was still getting used to this body, I couldn’t control the undead and fight.
as he starts to approach me I activate my death aura, to my surprise he starts to smile presently. it's not a bad smile, pleasing, I just want to look at his smiling face for some reason.
"how?" Lucy
"how what?" jack
"how are you unaffected by my death aura?" Lucy
"maybe it's because I grew up close to death" jack
"that would...make sense" Lucy
his words surprised me, yes this would be a fun fight. I start to cast a spell relishing my control of the mindless undead. to my surprise the wolf eared girl transformed into an actual wolf and growled. all the undead started moving toward her.
"are you prepared for this?" Lucy
I cast the spell so that if he dodges it still kills some zombies. his barley dodges and it hits the undead. before I can recover and attack again he rushes me, I barley manage to dodge but it still grazes my arm. I counter with a claw but it doesn't seem to hurt him.
"damn, the previous occupant of this body had a habit of biting her nails" Lucy
I quickly cast a spell but he recovers too fast and manages to impale my gut

"I’ve become sloppy over the years, must be the new body" Lucy
before I can recover he slices my arm. I counter by punching him as hard as I can in the arm, making it go limp. he jumps back and I send a mana ball at him, as that is the only spell I can really use right now. he jumps off of a zombie and lands in front of me cutting my arm off. he was breathing heavy, but then again so was I. wait a second, why was I breathing? I’m a lich I student be able to breathe. that old man must have been some kind of genius, I’m not an undead, and I am half alive.
"want to take a short breather before we continue?" Lucy
as I said that I picked up my arm and reattached it.
"damn, this one's going to take a bit to heal" Lucy
"I don’t see why not, I mean I want to see my companions fight a little" jack
"as do I" Lucy
after observing his companions fight a little (I don’t really want to rewrite this from her perspective) he starts to make that smile.
"you have some interesting companions" Lucy
"I quite agree" jack
after saying that he starts to look around for something, having found it he starts walking towards it.
"what are you doing?" Lucy
"a test" jack
when he gets to his goal, a pile of rocks, he starts doing something similar necromancy.
"necromancy? but that’s a pile of rocks not a corpse" Lucy
"close, I’m trying to make a golem" jack
"animation magic? don't you need a magic circle to animate a golem?" Lucy
"nope, apparently not" jack
as he says that a large stone golem forms out of the stones and starts hurtling toward the zombies plowing them down under its sheer weight one after another.
"lets us continue our fight from earlier now" jack
"very well" Lucy
as soon as he said that I cast mana ball and sent it flying at him, it grazes his arm damaging his cloths. he laughs and manages to land a hit on my arm. he looks slightly distraught when he notices the wounds he had inflicted had healed, then he looked resolute. he starts laughing.
"this is fun" jack
he jumps back and disappears, completely. I can't even feel his presence. then I feel something pierce my back and then pain. I hadn’t felt pain for hundreds of years. after a couple seconds the pain stops, but it feels like hours. I lost this match.
as you have acknowledged your defeat by jack, you have the option of becoming his pet/slave
do you except? yes/no
I stare at this blue box that appeared blankly for 5 minutes. then the wolf girl came over and kneeled down next to me and whispered in my ear, by the way she was still being attacked by undead.
'I guess you’re seeing a system message for the first time, I can guess what it says as I received a very similar one. master's not a bad person, he lets us do whatever we want and he helps us become strong' ghost
as she says that I use life leach on some undead to help fix the left half of my body that was blown up in the fight. I start to contemplate on what the wolf girl said, he is definitely strong. he seems to care about his companions, otherwise why would he waste his mana on a making a golem to assist them when he still needed to fight me? Besides he won the fight, everything goes to the victor in this world, right? after some contemplation I hit yes.

Travelers [DROPPED]
DROPPED. The story focuses less on dungeon building than on the why of dungeons and how they fit into the universal order. While I am working from a grand plot, the writing is going slice of life style because I need to do that to work out how things progress into that grand plot. The original story seed idea / synopsis is below. The Grand Tapestry protects Rhofhir from Primal Chaos by imposing Order via patterns. However, the patterns grow stiff, stagnant, and so the Tapestry is nearing a time of Unraveling. Evidence of past civilizations wiped out during previous Unravelings foreshadow the apocalyptic catastrophe looming over the world. The mages of the Arcane Asylum reach out across dimensions, searching for some way to prevent, or at least stall, the coming Unraveling. Among the many voices they find is a gifted graduate student researching machine-assisted telepathy -- and his gaming group. Lena never expected that the chance to play DnD with telepathy would result in her becoming an actual Dungeon Master, nor that her friends could become the bosses of her dungeon. This is, in many ways, her dream come true, but there's a catch: What happened to Brad, the creator of that telepathy machine?
