All party members have been eliminated! Recording the conquest of the Maximus Dungeon as a failure. You will be teleported back to your original place in 5, 4, 3...
"..."
I stare blindly at the monitor while my hands hover over the keyboard. My blood starts to rise as I repeatedly read the message.
2, 1, ding!
My blood now boiling; I jump out of my seat, toss my hands above my head, and then slam them on the keyboard. The monitor and mouse jump and falls onto the desk with a thud.
I quickly toss my hands back in the air and throw them onto the monitor, grasping it with both hands. Spit starts flying across the screen like morning dew.
"What the hell was that?! Why has the entire player base turned into mindless monkies who only know how to press buttons!?"
I slam the monitor down and rip off my headphones, flinging them down on the ground. I quickly spin around and send my feet flying at my chair.
Fling!
"F***!"
I curse to myself as my feet redden. Then, growling, I turn back to the desk and toss my hands to the keyboard. My fingers fly across the keys, leaving only hefty clicks in their path.
Click, click... Wham... Click, click...
My eyes burn holes on the monitor, and the keys on the keyboard are barely about to stand straight. My ears twitch as I hear something other than clicks, but the thought quickly vanishes when I press the following key.
Click, click, click!
Finally, after twenty messages, my blood cools. I drop on my back as I think over what I sent.
WTF man!? I don't know what skills you selected or how you distributed your status points, but you did them f***ing wrong! You are a tank, but you have the skills to heal; why?! You are garbage, do you know that? Get the hell out of here and learn the basics!
OMFG! You must be the worst healer in this game! Was [Low Heal] the only healing skill you possess? Come on! The effects of it were worst than expected too! So don't go putting strength or whatever you did as a healer! You have to focus on [Intelligence]! Oh, wait... I guess you don't have this in the real world either, SO STAY OUT UNTIL YOU GAIN SOME, YOU IDIOT!!
Welcome to Adventurous newbie... Do you really think that someone with only fifty hours in this game has the right to take on this dungeon? Your skills were all over the place too! At least players with that playtime should know the basics of skill buying. Hell, a child could create a character with a better selection of skills than you! I guess that makes you a baby. So, quit wasting everyone's time and return to sucking your mothers...
I shut my eyes as I sigh.
"Ugh... What last day this is... What were those admins thinking?"
Today marks the last day for the once number one game, Adventurous. It was released four years prior and has taken hold of my life. Unlike other MMORPGs, this one has a unique system of allowing players to customize their skills and distribute points to their status. With this, players can create all sorts of characters...
The idea didn't sound bad at first. Even at the start, players would create characters of their desires; however, it was quickly found that this was a horrible idea. Soon, players ditched this idea and started to make specialized characters. It becomes evident to everyone why other games gave skills based on class... Why need cooking skills when you're a fighter? Or why need magic if you're a swordsman?

Nowadays, the remaining player base has reverted to the beginning as they create characters with weird combinations. I'm not sure if they have just given up and made them for shits and giggles or are new players who are actual idiots.
Nevertheless, they are ruining the game for competent players like myself. Even if it is the last day, I don't want my last memory of this game to be a wish wash like this. I want it as it has always been. Plus, there are still some trophies that I still need to collect. To collect them with these people as my party members are impossible!
"That dumb bonus is to blame..."
As a 'thanks for playing' gift, the admins increased the points players receive by 500%. This includes the starting points. They have also reduced the cost in the skill shop. With this, players could have created overpowered characters. Instead, players decided to use this bonus to make these characters with many random skills.
"Ugh... I guess I'll try again."
I sigh as I climb my way up onto my knees and jump back into the game. I instantly found a new party and headed into battle with them while praying for them to be good.
Thump... Thump, thump... Thump, thump!
My monitor begins shaking along with the rumbling floor. I roll my eyes at it all and put my headphones back over my ears. Thankfully, the noise stops for a moment. Sadly, a new noise takes its place...
Bang, bang, bang!
"Okuma Sho, open this door this instant!"
Someone yells and pounds on the door behind me. I increase the game's volume as the pounding intensifies.
Bang, bang, bang!! Wham!!!
Suddenly, light bombards my room, blinding me for a moment. My blood starts boiling once again as I turn over my shoulder to a thin woman. Her face is as red as a tomato. I growl at her.
"WTF are you doing!? Get the hell out of here before..."
"Shut it, you idiotic son of mine! Tell me, what in the hell is this!?"
She points to my chair, which has merged with the wall. I shrug as I turn back to the computer.
"Meh, not my problem..."
The lady twitches to my response, steaming practically oozing out of her ears.
"That is it! I have given you too many chances for redemption! Get out of my house this instant!!"
My eyes twitch. I let out a cocky laugh as I mock her.
"Haha! Me, leave? What a joke! Who do you think you are? You're just some b**** with no power over me. Now, get the f*** out. Your eyes must be fried if you can't see that I'm busy."
I start zoning her out as I return my focus to the game. Suddenly, nails clench into my shoulders. I turn up to see the lady whose face slightly twitches. She forces a smile while she digs her nails even deeper.
"Okay, I guess we'll play the hard way."
"How did..."
Unable to comprehend her speed, the lady yangs me off the ground. My headphone wire miraculously falls out of its port with no damage; however, she slaps them off my head. While my ears ring, I watch her crush them with her feet. My eyes pout as I attempt to strangle the girl.
"What the f*** are you doing!?"
She easily blocks my arms and coldly laughs.
"I have had enough of you!"
"B..."
As I attempt to rebut, the hag turns me upside down and starts dragging me on the floor with my legs. I flail my limbs all over the place. I try to grab ahold of nearby objects, but she pulls me out before I can do anything. H-how is she this strong!?

She continues dragging me until we reach the front door. As the hag lets go, I quickly escape; however, she grabs my dust-covered shirt and pulls me back. Then, she slams open the front door and harshly kicks me out of the house.
"GET LOST!"
I fly onto the gravel pavement and crashland onto my head. I grab ahold of my head as I glance up at her. Her blood eyes stare daggers at me. My entire body trembles. Tears begin rolling down my eyes. Mustering all of my strength together, I cry towards her.
"Y-you can't do this to me?! I'm your son, aren't I?"
"You once were, but now you're nothing but trash! The law states that I only need to keep you until you turn eighteen. You are twenty-one years old! Be thankful that I let you stay in my house for this long and for not charging you for everything you've done, like making a hole in MY house. You have a minute to get off my property before I call the police!"
I freeze, drowning everything out but my heartbeat, which echos inside me.
"..."
My thoughts begin racing inside me on what I should do. For a second, I believed this was all but a dream, but that didn't last long.
"30... 29... 28..."
My body hair stands up to her, counting, snapping me back to reality. I scramble to get up and flail my limbs in all directions as I attempt to run away. Tears now stream down my face as I wobble down the gravel path. My mother's last words echo in the distance...
"And never come back, you damn NEET!"
...
"Ha... Ha... Ha..."
After running down the road for a couple of minutes, I collapse onto the street. I plant my hands on the ground. I take sharp breaths as my body aches for air. I look over my body.
"W-when... body... change..."
My limbs are as thin as uncooked noodles. My hair is also as long as those noodles. My nose twitches as I take in the smell of body odor and a rotten smell.
I shake my head as I close my eyes and weakly slam my hand onto the ground.
"Why... Why?! That b----! She'll pay... Yes, I'll make her pay for doing this to me that she'll be begging for me to return. Haha! I just need a little bit of money. I'll go get a loan and buy a gun... Yes, everything will be solved with that... Haha! Cough Cough..."
Exhaling, I slowly open my eyes.
"!?"
All color drains from my face.
Vrooom! Vroom!!!
"Wha..."
My head becomes an empty wasteland, and my heated body freezes instantly.
"A-a... plane?!"
I murmur as I stare at the falling plane as it gets closer and closer to me. My brain yells at my body to move, but it doesn't listen. Tears start to once again pour down my cheeks.
Suddenly the plane starts slowing down while all color drains from the atmosphere. Finally, my vision blackens to the point where the plane is no longer visible. Memories start bombarding me... I watch as I go through my entire life again. My early childhood... school... the bullying... the loss of interest in everything but games... I go through them all!
Then, they all disappear... I blink a few times as I process what happened. A lone exhale escapes my lips as I let out a loose smile. A lone tear slithers down my face.
"Haha... I'm a failure of a human being, aren't I? Mother... Forgive me."
Kaboom!
"Ugh..."
A moan slips out of my mouth as my consciousness returns. I slowly open my eyes and find nothing but an empty void.
"Did I survive?"
I attempt to peek down at my body, but I find nothing. I try to move my arms. Nothing...
"Haha... I guess I got what I deserve."
I close my eyes and start processing everything that has happened. I slowly explore my lost memories...
My luck has always been shitty. I got hardcore bullied during middle school and made fun of by girls and boys alike. As a result, I couldn't make any friends or do well in any subjects. I chalked all of this up with bad luck, but it must have been worse if I got killed by a plane that fell out of nowhere.
"Alright, I can't do anything now. I should focus on the present, but..."
I reopen my eyes and scan around. The scenery hasn't changed.
"Is this hell?"
"Incorrect."
"?!"
Suddenly a voice speaks to me from above. I jerk upwards but see nothing.
"Welcome, Okuma Sho, to the Realm of the Between. I will be acting as your Judge. By watching through your entire life, I can make a judgment. My judgment is final and will determine where you will be going..."
"Ah... So that flashback..."
"Correct. I've already seen your memories right before you died. I have everything I need... I have determined your fate."
"..."
I gulp with sweat beating down my face.
My fate... I'm guessing he means if I'm going to Heaven or Hell... But, without a doubt, I'm going to...
"Okuma Sho! You have lived a life of isolation, fear, and aggression. Instead of a proper solution to your problems, you collapse in fear. You isolated yourself in your room and lived like an animal. You used those around you as stress toys and rampaged your anger onto them...
I nod and look down. Everything he says is true. That's why...
"Everything I have seen is unfit for a human being. I see your sins. Due to their lack of severity, I have decided..."
I close my eyes.
"A second chance."
My eyes burst open.
"!?"
"You will use this second chance to atone for your sins. You will live a life that will contribute to society and be worthwhile to your soul. When you return, I'll rewatch your history again to make sure you have learned your lesson. If you fail, you will have a much worst fate..."
Tears roll down my cheeks. I smile up at the air and bow.
"Yes, I understand! I promise that I will relearn to be human."
"Good. You will be born in a different world and as a baby. I'll be taking away all of your memories, except for those containing your failures and this meeting. Also, your new life will not be easy. You will be faced with many hard challenges. However, by completing them, you will turn out a more well-rounded person. Now, go and repent. Goodbye!"
My consciousness fades into the void.
I promise... I will live a life of adventure and contribute to society this time!
...
"Congratulations! It's a boy!"

Dauntless: Origins
Snow white hair, blue eyes, pale. Devil, monster, mutt, failure. This story follows one Tyr Faeron, crown prince, heir primus and mass murderer. A wrathful, angry, and lost young man that has made it his goal to hunt down the men that killed his mother - and he is on the cusp of finishing the promise he'd made before her cairn stones so many years ago. On the surface he is duplicitous, whimsical, and base of cunning - but within the depths beyond the many masks he wears, something is waiting. Waiting for an end, the end he'd come to long for, whether it be to himself or any possible threats in his vicinity. After that long labor of vengeance is completed... Nobody knows, not even him - an arrogant and otherwise solitary individual with nothing in the way of friends - only the brothers of the blackguard who follow him through life as he pursues this mission. He was born a prince, but he'd be called a disappointment - failing to manifest the great power that he was born to before being summarily discarded by his father, a 250 year old 'primus'. That word again... Men who can shatter mountains and level cities, that's what he was supposed to be. Some call them demi-gods, all Tyr sees is a poor excuse for a parent. Time had made him bitter, cruel, and arguably psychotic - seeing only enemies wherever he looks. They'd come for him, too, one day - to wipe the slate clean and make room for another - and it's his conviction to ensure that he dies while taking as many of those rats with him. This is a story about finding acceptance, growth, and understanding - from the point of view of a cold and brutal individual who wears many masks. Of someone who was born to be the greatest emperor the eastern continent has ever seen - but he failed in that. Strong, yes, but only in the context of a man - Tyr's magic is weak. His convictions are weak. He has been made a beast of instinct by loss and a constant confronting of his own impotency in the face of his father. A mythos that stretches across planes, of magic, a pantheon of cruel gods. Of someone who's dedicated his entire mind to the art of killing a man, and none to living a normal childhood or coming to understand friendship, empathy, or compassion. The first five years of his life a mystery, a hole none have ever been willing to fill, leaving him warped and twisted. His formative years gone and what must've been most of his humanity along with it. Now 17, he is on the cusp of leaving the city he'd never been permitted to leave for what might be the first time in his life. Always searching, though he won't know what for, for some time. An episodic that follows experience and symbolism rather than a never ending series of battles - where the conflict lay in constantly searching for wholeness in lieu of great villains or heroes. This is where it all started, the origin, the tale told a million times - and yet it hadn't been, 'reality' is tricky like that. The greatest lie ever told by the tongue that speaks is that any of this was real at all.
