《Transmigrated Into a Blind Woman’s Body》Chapter 40

Lin Ning had placed her blindfold back on once it had dried up, looking back at the wolf that kept licking it’s injured right paw. “Here you are young miss” Xia Ling handed Lin Ning cooked meat of the rabbit that she had managed to hunt. About to take a bite from the cooked rabbit meat, she could sense that the wolf was staring at her. Tossing the cooked rabbit meat, it fell over to the wolf that did not hesitate to eat it. “Young miss?” Xia Ling did not think that Lin Ning would toss the rabbit meat over to the wolf.
“Don’t worry. I feel like it would be good for the wolf to have something to eat as well. We will share our food with it.” Lin Ning was given a cooked bird instead with Xia Ling eating alongside her.
“Young miss, you seem to be able to detect a lot of things? It is as if you have a sixth sense somewhere inside you.” Xia Ling decided to indulge her curiosity since it had been bothering her for quite some time. It was hard for someone like her to remain curious and confused all the time, and so she figured now would be a good time to ask while she had the chance.
Lin Ning looked over to see that Xia Ling was one of those curious women who were able to detect well in her heart if observed well enough. “I guess you can say that, but it's more like common sense. I may not have the eyes to see, but it does not mean that I do not have the senses to hear, talk, smell, and taste. Not only that, but I believe that another sense can come along the way.” Lin Ning wanted Xia Ling to understand that one could have another sense that no other could have. Xia Ling found this miss of hers to be rather odd, but amazing at the same time that she could possibly have another sense. “Alright, let us rest for now. We have a long journey tomorrow.” Lin Ning went ahead to sleep for the night with Xia Ling sleeping soon after.

Sitting on the side, the wolf had crawled forth and laid near the fire where it laid close to the two women. Staring at the two women, it then turned to sleep for the night as well.

“How is his condition?” Yi Changpu had been trying to look over the matter that involved the Ma people which did not add up well. Hun Cufien and Qin Yun were in his study, being called to find out about how Cao Peizhi was.
“He left.” Hun Cufien could see the look on Yi Changpu’s face, seeing how his closest friend had left.
“Leave him be.” Xu Meili entered into his study, seeing how this man did not know that he could not always worry about Cao Peizhi. “He is trying to look after his woman. You need to focus on those Ma people. Besides, who said that you will be alone.” Xu Meili crossed her arms over her chest, looking to see how this man worried too much about his best friend. “I will tell you that the Zhao Empress has some sort of involvement with the Ma people here.” Xu Meili had been doing her own search and came to find that the Zhao Empress was taking part in the Ma people who were coming into the Zhao State.
Yi Changpu did not think that the Zhao Empress would take part in the Ma people who were trying to enter into the Zhao State with suspicious activity taking place in it. It left him with no choice, but to leave his best friend to do his own thing while he figured out the Ma people and the Zhao empress. “Let’s start talking.” Xu Meili smiled to see that he had to make a choice between the two.

Cao Peizhi knew that he should have not left, but he did not want to leave Lin Ning alone in the forest where she was still vulnerable. Shi Men had assisted him out of the border of their territory, both were looking at trails that Lin Ning and Xia Ling had left behind while running away from the assassins. “Master, how are we going to find them both? It seems as though their trails were all erased by the water.” Shi Men and Cao Peizhi had reached a dead end when they stumbled upon the hole that the two women came across and fell into. Cao Peizhi did not hesitate, he had jumped down which shocked Shi Men to see that he would actually jump down. Following after, both had been following where the water had pushed them. Reaching land, both took a look around to see that they both reached an unknown part of the forest from the flow of the river.
‘It seems as though this must be some kind of secret part of the forest.’ Cao Peizhi thought. Going on, he figured that with Xia Ling by Lin Ning’s side then she would have looked for a cave. Seeing small footsteps, he had seen that there were drag marks as if someone had been dragged. Taking a look, he saw a cave that he rushed over to with Shi Men still following close behind.
The entrance of the cave had been covered with vines which would make it a good place to hide for some time. Hoping that both women would be inside, but he did not see anyone inside. Kneeling down, he saw what looked to be ashes of wood from making a fire with some small animal bones around. “Master, it seems as though they must have been here not too long ago.” Shi Men figured that the two women must have left early in the morning. Cao Peizhi knew that they were close to finding them, but he had found some blood in the cave which he hoped that it was not Lin Ning who was injured. Going out of the cave, Cao Peizhi wanted to be able to find Lin Ning before they lost any more traces along the way.

Which is the real world? Is he in a game? A simulation? And who actually is his online friend Barry. Inspired greatly by the MUDs of the 90s, many of the aspects will be familiar to those who experienced the joys of text adventures, MUSHs, MURPEs, MUDs, modern MMORPGs or just some good old fashioned cybering with a 17/f/Cali who was anything but. This humorous, harem LitRPG story is the first story by experienced author Jamie Haremie under this pen name. Jamie has previously written horror and romance (sometimes together!) as well as tons and tons of riveting TPS reports. (Late 90s cultural reference? CHECK). Any and all comments and suggestions welcome!
