《The Worst》Chapter 19 - Dungeons and Dragons

Lidie's POV
"Why doesn't his armor come off!"
Lidie shouted as she tried with all her might to take even one piece of the skeleton knight's armor.
All they gained from killing him was his two handed sword, which was of no real use to them but they could still sell it, but armors were much more expensive than weapons, after all they helped in protecting oneself and survive longer in battles, more importantly the skeleton knight's armor looked cool.
"Can't you just take the whole thing with the bone inside?"
Mary asked, Lidie had been going on it for hours while Galie had went home for some time, leaving them with the corpse as the balls and platform went in her inventory, of course she wouldn't be able to walk with them inside the inventory but she didn't have to after all she just wanted to log out.
"What do we do until Galie logs in again?"
Mary asked somewhat afraid, since they had no way too fight the monsters on the second floor by themselves.
"I don't know about you but I will get this filthy skeleton to give up on his armor"
Lidie said trying to use her sword as a lever, but the dumnable skull wouldn't come out at all.
Mary of course logged out and Lidie after putting the whole corpse in her inventory logged out as well, after all being alone in a high level dungeon was suicidal.
========================================================================================
Simon's POV
Domina was sitting in a corner eating food and drinking the healing potions the deceased parties had left behind, her stomache was hurting and she really couldn't drink any more but the food still gave a small health replenishing effect.
"I want to log out!"
She shouted desperately and suddenly to his surprise Simon appeared back in his room.
"Thank god, those girls played so many days straight without even a single rest, I must first send a message to Lidie and ask for them to forgive me, oh and fulfill those stupid wishes"
He said, he was rather desperate, of course he could always go to another world but his Allastar character was as good as deleted, as it was now.
'Should I just delete Domina and make another character, but I did gain so many levels due to those idiots, I've even reached level 98 in just a few days, do I have to give it all up?'
You have to know that to train by yourself it takes a long time but in reality if Kaj had helped him to train he could have reached even level 200 without a problem. If not for her bad personality she could make a perfect partner, after all she was beautiful, strong, loyal, playful and even somewhat intelligent, a pity she was also jealous, vengeful and too strongminded to his liking.
Simon went and visited his other twelve slaves whom he had also hypnotized but they didn't change one bit.
"So the hypnosis only wears off when you switch virtual worlds"
He said to himself, he could understand that it was probably because of the system refresh the data that this occured but he had no way to overcome this problem at the moment.
"Simple I will creat a new harem in each different world"
He said to himself as he laughed surounded by twelve beautiful girls.
========================================================================================
Galie's POV
Galie was once more in her room when Guilgo came to her bed. Guilgo was her pet dragon, of course he looked more like a miniature dragon the height of a domestic animal but one could tell imediately that he was somewhat strange.
-What are you thinking about?-
Galie heard in her mind Guilgo ask, he was probably rather bored after all he couldn't leave or play the game.
-Gui, do you want to play the game with me?-
Galie asked rather enthousiastically through telepathy.
-What game?-
The dragon asked and she begun telling him all about this exciting place that looked a little like his own world of Orfenguard.
-------------------------------------------------------
Later she and Guilgo went to see her father after all she had somewhat overcome her prior emotional outburst.
"Dad, will you make a capsule for Guilgo so that he can also play with us?"
Galaxia asked somewhat embarassed.
"Galie, I have already made one, only problem is that if he enters now you won't be able to see him for some time since you are in the dungeon at the moment, just tell him the town you will appear after the dungeon disappears and he will probably wait for you there as he trains"
Darknym said as he looked through some strange floating neon cubes.
"Dad, you didn't tell where his capsule is?"
Galaxia said somewhat irritated, Darknym didn't like Guilgo and liked to play tricks on him because of some bad blood between them.
"It's the last capsule in the capsule room the farthest one from yours"
He said with a smirk as he went on with the floa...
burning neon cubes.
"You bastard did that on purpose!"
Darknym shouted.
-I'm sorry, we dragons breath fire whenever we sneeze-
Guilgo said through telepathy.
"Father don't bully Guilgo!"
Galaxia said as she saw that Darknym was about to do something to her pet.
"Take your stinking lizard, if he comes before me again in the near future I will make him change colors, I think something like a rainbow colored dragon would be rather fancy"
Darknym said to Guilgo's irritation.
"Gui lets go"
Galie took Guilgo away knowing that nothing good would come from these two being in the same room.
They reached the capsule room and to her surprise Guilgo's capsule was enormous, it was big enough to hold an adult dragon inside and outside there was something writen in red paint.
-I hope you rot in there-
The words were somewhat...excesive but she didn't think that her father would do something to make her unhappy, he wasn't so much of a jerk.
"Gui you can go try it, I will go see what Lidie is doing, she only returned for a few seconds to ask why I left and went inside again"
Truth was Galie left because she was tired and she missed her bed too much, sleeping on the rocky floor wasn't the best of things even with a thin matress underneath.
-I will do my best to protect you when you return-
Guilgo said gallantly as he entered the capsule.
Lidie could see his body grow expotentially, she knew that this was his real form but it was non the less terrifying, if not for his already closed eyes he would have been a terrifying existance, well on earth even now he would be a sort of disaster. Well nothing a few rockets couldn't handle but still he was dangerous.
Galie entered her own Capsule and to her surprise she saw Lidie still trying to take off the skeleton knight's armor from his corpse.
========================================================================================
Guilgo's POV
Guilgoliath Velia Ruthus, was his name and he kept it inside the game, a pity they didn't have dragon as a starting race.
'lets see Offshore City, Isleplains human and what else is there, oh yes how I look'
Guilgoliath was rather intelligent by Galie's explanations he had already made up a character for himself in his mind and now recreated him inside the game, long silver hair and feminine features, he was akin to those shojo manga characters.
'Now I need to find the training hall to become a fighter'
He thought, he had seen that his telepathic abilitis were far weaker than in the real world, Galie hadn't explained him much about the stats and how things worked, but he thought make ends meet eventually.
"Hey you, do you need help?"
An attractive lady asked out of the blue.
"I would really appreciate that, I was heading to the training hall to gain my first profession"
Guilgo said gently with a voice that would mesmerise any woman.
"Well Ruthus you don't need to, if you want to I can teach you an even better profession, have you heard of the blade dancer profession"
The lady said, while taking off her hood, showing a beautiful elven face that made him somewhat lost for words.
Of course she also saw this subtle change in his eyes but didn't mind it, after all having a beautiful guy stare at you isn't considered a sin.
"I am Tuincy, I will be your blade dancer teacher"
She said and he simply noded a bit absentminded, it has been a few years now that he hadn't seen another woman other than Galie and Lidie was like a clone of hers.
"So Ruthus do you want to become my disciple?"
She asked with a smirk on her face, she was so sure about his answer.
"Call me Guilgo and I would be rather delighted if we first acquainted ourselves a little better"
He said, making her somewhat blush in turn as her mind thought something else than what he intended.
Guilgo was sincere and he trully wanted to know more about herself, maybe a few stories about this world or even about how to get stronger.
"Follow me!"
She said still a little embarassed, but he couldn't tell exactly why. She brought him to the Inn and rented a rather cheap room, after all they didn't need much.
"Come upstairs"
She said, of course he wasn't in the least concerned since he was a dragon, he was a fearless Mighty grey dragon, how could he be afraid to follow a stranger and moreover a female.
Sudenly she turned around and took off her cloak, he didn't find it strange since they were indoors but then she begun taking off her other clothes as well, little by little he begun understanding where the thing was going.
"What are you doing, why aren't you taking yours off?"
She asked, seeing that he was staring at her like a fish out of water.
"Why do we have to take off our clothes, we don't even know one another"
He said somewhat strangely after all he was a dragon, they normally don't wear clothes but he knew that humans did and they didn't take them off for no reason and taking a bath wasn't the reason for it this time.
"Didn't you say to acquaint ourselves better?"
She said as she now helped him take his clothes off.
That day they did acquaint real good, days after girls would ask to meet his acquaintance, as a result him becoming real famous in Offshore and was even helped to level up by his "acquaintances".
========================================================================================
Mary's POV
Mary was shocked as she appeared and saw both Lidie and Galie trying to undress the skeleton knight.
"Seriously, we only have fourteen days left and you are...you are playing with the corpse!"
Mary shouted in disbelief
"But..."
Lidie and Galie wanted to explain themselves but Mary wouldn't let them.
"We have so many monsters to kill and a whole dungeon to explore, why are you stuck on this stupid corpse"
Truth was that the armor couldn't be taken as it was a soulbound Item, it wasn't impossible to unbind it but it would become a simple steel armor if they did.
"Lets go girls"
She said as she begun walking away but to her surprise she saw Galie, Lidie and the corpse flying on the platform right besides her, Lidie simply just couldn't give up on that armor.
The battles were simple and the traps were mostly floor and wall based, but since they were flying it didn't matter much to them what was below them.
All the monsters died by Galie's floating spheres they were similar to canonballs and she was like a walking canon, killing monsters with great ease at the cost of 50% experience, all the other two had to do was hit the monster once before it slowly died by her metallic balls.
"Should we wait for an hour before the boss fight?"
Galie asked remembering their first boss fight.
"If you follow my plan, we won't have to fight for even a second"
Mary said rather confidently.
Five minutes later they entered the boss chamber, there were countless bones all over the floor and in front of them was an altar.
A skeletal form appeared out of thin air and shouted.
"All mortals must die!"
His clothes were rather ragged but were the attire of a mage, a dirty robe and a cloack that was in serious need of washing, they could tell that he was a lich by his staff, or was he a skeleton mage, they didn't know after all their scouting ability was rather weak and their knowledge of the game lacking.
Suddenly an axe striked on its back and a bone hit its head from the front, it was Lidie who had thrown it doing a little damage. The skeleton turned his head to look at Mary but at that moment two canonballs viciously smashed his feet.
"Nooo!"
Tht skeletal Lich shouted as he was being grinded by two metallic balls on the floor.
"See it was rather easy"
Mary said with a smile, after all her plan was 100% successful and they gained the 50% of the exp that was theirs for the take.
"What Item did the Lich give?"
Lidie asked as the Item was probably in Galie's inventory.
"Stuff of raise skeletons"
Galie said as she took out a strange bone staff with a skeletal hand on one side.
"Try it out!"
Mary said, she wanted to see if the staff was good or junk, after all they did gain it from a Boss monster.
Galie used the staff and five skeletons rose from the bones on the floor.
"Why are they simple skeletons?"
Mary asked, the five were simple skeletons lacking any armament, they probably were really weak.
Galie was really disappointed.
"Wait, I have an Idea of how to use them"
Lidie said suddenly, after all they were just lowly skeletons probably no more than 50 levels of strength.
"Galie, can you control the skeletons' actions?"
"Well I can but they are useless, I can only have five of them and their level is too law even for us"
Galie said, after all they were level 150 now, they had a 50 level disperancy.
"if I take the staff will I have control over them?"
Lidie asked, Galie just passed her the useless staff.
"Perfect!"
Lidie said as she begun tinkering with them, she had after all a level 1 clearance but even without it she still could have done what he wanted to.
Suddenly she gave five backpacks to the skeletons and they begun gathering anything that could be considered sellable or usable, they gathered almost anything they could find even the fern off the corners of the room.
"Galie, I think that we have overcome our material gathering problem"
Lidie said.
"You mean your problem"
Mary fixed her phrase, since only she had a problem in leaving items behind, not to say that she was the only one interested in becoming a craftsman or craftswoman.
"What do you think is down the third floor?"
Galie asked, somewhat enthousiastic, after all they just beat a boss.
"Well judging by the cold air, its probably ice skeletons"
Lidie said, somewhat ruining Galie's surprise as they went downstairs. They trully did see strange skeletons made of ice crystals and their levels couldn't be more than 130.
"Galie could you use your pyrokinesis on them?"
Lidie asked but the results of that were really poor, the skeletons even though they were vulnerable to fire still had a rather good psychic power resistance, after all they were supposed to be level 130.
"Why do they cruble so easily"
Galie asked after she used her metallic spheres to attack them. The skeletons were shattered and turned to ice just with one hit by the metallic ball of course some of them did evade it but they too easily crumbled under the next attack.
"Did they give you anything good?"
Lidie asked Galie somewhat jealous, after all the item went to the one who gave the last hit.
"Lidie, they didn't even give experience"
Galie frowned, she couldn't understand why she gained no XP after all the monster were visibly dead.
"I think that it has something to do with that thing"
Mary said as she pointed in the distance another group of Ice skeletons.
They were as weak as Galie said, probably no more than level 50, as even Lidie's skeletons could destroy one of them with ease, well it was to be expected after all they didn't even carry weapon with them.
"Galie, there is something wrong here, these guys just keep coming"
Lidie said, they had stoped here for some time now to fight the skeletons and every time they destroy them a new group appears, but the worst was they gave no items or XP whatsoever.
"Girls I found the source of our problem"
Mary said as she appeared once more nearby, she had gone to scout ahead for any suspicious thing or monster and she was once more back.
"What did you find?"
Lidie asked somewhat irritated, after all she did take her good time.
"There's a strange skeleton mage that summons them, I tried to kill him but his HP are worthy of a monster of level 130 so I ran away"
Mary said satisfied.
"lead the way!"
Lidie said but Mary didn't even budge.
"What is she doing?"
Mary asked seeing Galie meditating on top of the Levitating platform.
"I think that she said something about upgrading her ki level, she was really disapointed when her pyrokinesis failed her with the ice skeletons"
Lidie said somewhat uninterested by the strange phenomenon happening behind her.
Galie was sitting crosslegged on the levitating platform, around her there was a strange yellow aura visible to them, doing a fluid motion as if a flickering spark of a candle.
Galie while meditating was also using her psychic powers to the maximum, her two spheres were destroying ice skeletons while a strange flame was drawing images in the middle of the air.
"Shouldn't we retreat so that she can train more safely?"
Mary asked not understanding why she begun training now of all times.
"Galie said that the skeletons help her skills to rise faster for some reason, although they don't give XP or Items they are still identified as enemies so attacking them with skills help her skills to rise faster"
Lidie explained, she too had done the same for the time being but her stamina became too low to use any more skills so she got irritated, as for her psychic power, she had been tormenting a skeleton for some time now, as she put a portal on the floor and the exit on the ceiling making that endless portal loop, easily already grinding her power to mastery, the only thing that it changed was the size of the portal since the range was still the same, she could make a portal anywhere inside her sight.
"By the way don't you also want to meditate?"
Mary asked, she hadn't seen Lidie meditate even once while Galie did it multiple times before.
"Mary my power is rather peculiar, do you think that there's a reason to spend time on Ki, to begin with what exacly will that change?"
Lidie asked, it was clear that she could only create one portal and it didn't even matter if the enemies were somewhat resistant to ki since it was a portal, if you don't step in it was useless and if you steped in it was inevidable to exit from the other side, mostly because she made it appear on the floor.
"Lidie could you try your portal to block my knife?"
Mary said somewhat irritated at her after all she knew better about the game's mechanics.
The telekinetic dagger shot forwards and entered the gate but the funny thing was that it didn't exit from the other portal, it simply exited from the other side of the same portal it entered, with the same speed it had entered with it shot towards her and stopped in midair and fell down.
"This is what happens if your Ki is not strong enough to teleport something, you see my knife passed right through your portal without teleporting"
Mary boasted, not that it wasn't true and all, but it was enough to make Lidie a bit more serious about Ki levels.
"By the way what's in between these two portals, there was a short break before it came out after all, so your portals are probably some sort of wormhole ability"
Mary speculated, Lidie had too thought about it but didn't really care, after all there was no way to stay inside for more than a few seconds.
"Do you think that I need to raise my Ki a little?"
Lidie asked, disregarding that one of her skeletons had just collapsed, after all she had already collected her backpacks and given them some rusty weapons to fight with.
"Galie, I'm going up again to train my meditation a little, if you two need anything send me a message"
Lidie said as she went back by herself.
The boss room after all was now empty so she could stay there and train to her heart's content.

Life in the New World
On the Hiatus: I began writing this novel when I was, in all honesty, very bad at writing. I hope to revisit creative writing in the near future and I plan to, at some point in time, revisit this. I am flattered that many people have taken the time to read this story, but it is not what I intend to start with, as it will likely need a hard rewrite in order to correct many of the more glaring issues it has. Join our hero and follow his exciting adventure through a newly changed world! WARNING their will be violence, profanity,, and gore in this fiction. if any of these make you uncomfortable this is not a story for you turn around and walk away now!!!
