《Reincarnated As A Benevolent Tyrant》Not so Perfect Plan

Inside, a luxurious room, which was fairly illuminated by sunlight coming from the large windows, sat an individual with jet black hair and blue eyes on the bed with sheets of papers lying here and there. It seemed that he was scribbling something on the paper with too much focus, as if he was deciphering some nuclear codes. And the individual was James, who was working on his legendary plan of getting back to his world.
After hearing everything from Samuel and Theodor, his motivation to stay here had reached rock bottom, and he wanted to get out. This guy named Leonhart had enormous responsibilities to deal with, which was piling up with each passing day. James was working on Nightangel, which could have changed the world, but it was nowhere near as stressing as this world's works were.
From the dusk till the dawn, he had to go through hundreds of papers and sign them one by one. There were six people who were helping him, but why on earth he still had to go through piles of works every day. Wasn't he supposed to do nothing and just sleep?
Thus, his desire to return to his world grew more and more. And the result was him being writing everything about this world on a paper. So he could understand what was going on with a bit of clarity?
For starters, the land where he was in was named Espedor. And someone called an emperor ruled over this entire land as his empire. Simple right. Then the whole land was divided into 4 pieces controlled by powerful lord bla bla... and then bla... bla, you know that.
Then, moving on, this nation was nowhere near developed as 21st century earth. From the very beginning, he had some doubts and after seeing Esvet, his doubts were certified. This country was really in the medieval era, like how Europe was in the 12th century. Monarchy was at its peak, nobles ruled over commoners, people's lives were not so good, like how he had read in history books.
In conclusion, James was in a country which was going through the medieval era. Like all pre-industrial societies, this medieval Espedor had a predominantly agricultural economy. Food and various items made of steel and other elements were traded all over the land, which helped the country to flourish.
People were human, not ghosts, aliens or wizards who knew magic. There were no flying elephants or invisible wolves, or people with superhuman strength. It was fairly normal for a pre-modern society. And that wrapped up all the logical parts. Now the irregularities.
Just how in the world he was here, inside a completely different person...? No, it wasn't a prank, nor a too realistic real life simulation game either. All of this was real. He felt like dying when his toe hit the table. It was this much real.

There was no explanation for this. He couldn't understand what had happened to him or who did it? The only thing James could do was accept everything, but that was also another hassle. Because of having no memory of this man named Leonhart, he knew nothing about his personal life, nor about his relationship or enemies or friends. He knew nothing.
The last thing he did was wait and let the people introduce themselves. And the latest example was Theodor, who came as a friend but within a minute turned into a third-class villain. It was like everything he did or touched had some hidden issues, and was fairly irritating.
So the plan was to turn everything around and get back home, which was not so perfect and was you know, just a little absurd...
So... The plan was... (Drum roles please.....)
"Nothing...." A blank paper. All the plannings he had done previously were utter bullshit.
For one instance, his plan was to jump from this mansion to find out if he could die and get back, but when he tried to find the way to the top, he couldn't. He got lost. He didn't ask anybody because they would surely accompany him and would ask countless questions to which James had no answers prepared.
Second time, his plan was to jump before a carriage, but that was also proved to be futile because everywhere he went, there were at least 10 guards with him, from which 5 were disguised as commoners. He couldn't possibly run away from them and jump before a carriage, even if he tried they would get to him like 5 seconds. It was impossible. Those people were well trained and had the capability to carry him like a sac of potato, on their shoulder.
His third plan was to sneak out of the castle and ran away as far as possible, from where he could find a mountain and jump from it.
Neat right.
I know you would say that.
But the actual answer is... No, it wasn't; it wasn't neat.
It was a totally dumb plan. He couldn't even navigate between the mansion's halls, how in the milky way galaxy he could possibly navigate between this unknown town? And let alone run away. There were countless guards disguised as commoners who were always patrolling the town. They would recognize him instantly.
All these plans were working in theory, but in practical, nothing was plausible. And who even said that he would die after jumping? What if he didn't die and broke half of his bones? There were no doctors in this world who could fix that much of a severe fracture. It would definitely be a slow and painful death. Just thinking about that sent a shiver down his spine.

There was no guarantee of success in this failed endeavor of his, despite that he had some unrealistic hopes. He was an engineer and his job was to build, but this was a too complicated plan to even think, let alone create and execute.
In the end, nothing was done or prepared. The plan was always a failure from the beginning. Still, he had hopes that someday he could understand what had happened. The only thing clear was that he was stuck here in this land named Espedor as Leonhart Tristan Von Esper.
"That really is a long name...?" mumbled James to himself.

A man, probably in his early forties, with grey hair and green eyes, could be seen sitting inside an office room, behind a large wooden desk. The sunlight shone directly behind him on to the large glass window, further emphasizing his regal feature. Piles of books and dozens of papers were nicely placed all over the table. He was writing something on the paper but his hand moments were so smooth that anyone would assume he was painting something.
And the man was Isere Helsmi Von Carlston, 3rd most powerful man in the empire. He was better known as the backbone of the empire, because without him and his help, the entire empire would starve to death.
He ruled over much of the fertile region of the empire, so most of the people in this land were farmers. They produced everything related to food and sold it to the Carlstons, then they were again selling it to other states. This cycle had been running for decades by now, and that's how they were making profits.
But today the normally happy and cheerful man was a little distressed. The whole noble society was on his toes since the Emperor announced he would marry his daughter to the most compatible man in the empire. Obviously there were some catches, and everyone knew it. Like only people from noble family could ask her hand and they did.
From that day, the princess was never free. Every day there would be someone from a different noble house would visit her and try to court her. But the strange thing was she choose no one. It had been six months since the announcement, but nothing. Everyone hoped this thing would end in just a month, but it carried on and now turned into a battle between noble houses all over the empire.
Lowly nobles like barons and viscounts didn't even try. Only a few numbers of Counts, Earls and Marquess, were seen trying by sending their sons. And about the Dukes, they were the most powerful among the nobilities, so it was evident that they were in the front. And the battle continued till this day with no winner showing up.
Every powerful house in the empire wanted the princess as their daughter-in-law, not because they liked her or anything. It was purely because they all wanted to be in the good grace of the emperor and the Duke Carlston was no exception. He had been trying for six months by now, using all sorts of tactics.
He ordered his uninterested son to do everything in his power to get the princes and he did his best by gifting her extravagant dresses, rare gifts, necklace, dresses and so on. Still no response. It was like nothing mattered to her.
But one day something unthinkable happened. The most scorned person in the empire who was famous for his obnoxious attitude and not so friendly behavior, the son of Duke Esper, Leonhart, got a letter from the princess herself to accompany her to a certain function. It made quite a big news throughout the empire and became a hot topic of discussion between ladies.
Elizabeth showed no interest in anyone but suddenly, out of nowhere, sent a letter to Leonhart, who never even attempted to court her. Never gifted her anything nor visited her, only wasted his time drinking, gambling and picking fights with other people. Compared to him, his son was doing 1000 times better, but he got no letter, not even a compliment from her.
The whole thing just happened only 20 days ago, and to add more fuel to the already raging fire, Leonhart didn't accompany her, contradicting everyone's expectations. Still, the princess did nothing. She didn't get angry nor got irritated, just stayed silent. At the same time, another rumor started flying around that, when he asked for her forgiveness, she easily agreed, and they chatted for a very long time in the royal garden.
These baseless rumors and other previous things had made the duke even furious. No matter what his son did, the princess didn't even react, but to that worthless Leon she just accepted. It was as if she liked him and could choose him as her husband over others. And surely he couldn't let that happen on his watch.
