《Reincarnated As A Benevolent Tyrant》Home Again

3 days had passed since James got the letter from Adeline to come back home for Elizabeth's birthday and despite his inner protest, he had to go back to the city of Elenor where the Duke, or in other words, Leonhart's family, lived. James always thought that the family members would be able to figure out about his existence from the very day when he met the duke, but they didn't.
It was weird that they could not find out that their son had been replaced with a complete stranger from literally another world. Even if they had sensed something odd, as long as they won't say anything, James was also not planning to tell the truth. It would be too peculiar for him to just blurt out that he was not their son, but in reality, he was Leonhart.
So, moving on, an official letter also arrived from the Duchy the same day when Adeline's letter was received, confirming the truth. It was written and signed by the Duke for Leonhart to leave the barony and return home immediately. But he deliberately delayed it for 3 days.
James didn't want to reach there quick to get stuck with others for buying gifts. Sophia and other kept pestering him to leave the barony or the hell would break loose, so he finally left. And today was the day when he was leaving on a 3 day-long journey on the carriage, which had no suspension.
***
The whole convoy comprised same people as before. The stoppages were also same. Nothing different. All the planning had done beforehand and were sent to assigned houses where he again would spend the night. So the first stoppage was Count Tassilo's residence, which was already informed. James had no problems in staying there as they were a happy family, who were delighted top have him as their guest.
The major problem was Marquess Michael and his dubious ideas. The planners in the duchy did not know about what had transpired during his previous journey, so the plan was kept the same, but in reversal order. He had to spend tomorrow night in his home, which was not a brilliant decision judging by the past incident but still had to agree, cause he was not alone in this journey and couldn't just think about himself.
...
Eventually the day passed, travelling in the bumpy carriage and evening set in when they reached the resident of Count Tassilo, who was eager to accept him as his guest. Everything was the same as before. James got the spotlight and the head seat. Nothing significant happened except when he got into an argument with their little daughter over his eye color.
She asked why his eyes were blue and her were brown. She liked the color blue, so why were her eyes weren't blue? Which was a fairly logical question and he could have explained it by using how genes and DNA worked, but she was too young to comprehend all that.

So James politely told her he got his eyes blue by being a good boy and she could also get her by being a good girl, and she agreed. If she had known that how much of a good boy Leonhart was, then she won't have agreed.
Apart from that, nothing significant happened and James got his good night's sleep in a too comfortable bed.
And on the next day, after the breakfast and bidding farewell to the count's family again, the carriage rolled towards the Marquess territory.
...
Once again, James reached the Marquess residence before the sunset, but this time there was no crowd to greet him, which was cleared by the guards beforehand. Michael happily attended him and led inside the house. The only thing James could do was to pray that this time nothing would go wrong with him.
And then after sometime the dinner was served and once again Leonhart was given the head seat at the table and the people present here were also the same. Karl, who wore a not so happy expression, sat to his right beside the Marquess. Lina, who had a forced smile on her face, sat to his left just beside her sat the Marchioness to her right.
Nothing significant happened throughout the dinner. Only Karl asked some baseless question about what he was getting for the princess on her birthday to impress her, and James gave only bland answers, which lead to nowhere. He had never dated a single soul once in his life or bought anything for anyone or even attended a party. He even once missed his owned party hosted by the company to congratulate him for his achievement. Well, that was a very awkward scene, so let's not talk about it.
Yeah so, nothing noteworthy happened and James returned to his room for his so called good night's sleep. And strangely, nothing happened. He waited for an hour for someone to come, but no one did, and soon he found himself totally asleep.
Always expecting something wrong could lead him to become paranoid, so James didn't think about it anymore.
Next day he woke up feeling refreshed but thinking about the last part of the journey and the bumpy ride made him tired even before he got out the bed. So after the breakfast and farewell, once again the carriage rolled towards its final destination.
...
3 days flew by like it was nothing and James only travelled and travelled. This journey could have been covered by a car in like 15 hours, but it was taking him 72 hours. A pretty good way to waste time. He couldn't just create an engine and fit it to this carriage, so it could run faster. There was no point in even thinking about it. But because of boredom sitting on his shoulder, James had nothing but these weird ideas.

"Hey Sophia..."
"Yes, Lord."
"How much longer we have to sit in this...?" asked James, stretching his hands with a long yawn. He was getting tired just by sitting.
"Just a little long... We will reach duchy before the sunset." replied Sophia, looking out the window. The town of Elenor was visible in the distance, but it would still take some time.
"You know... I could do this entire trip in like a Day." said James with a little smile. He was getting bored and wanted to chat with her, otherwise he would just fall asleep.
"How...?"
"In a Car."
"Car...! What is that...?" Sophia couldn't understand what Leonhart was saying.
"It's... like this carriage, but without those horses. And it's faster and less bumpy."
"Whaaat...? Then how does it move without horses...?"
"Ahhh... With an engine...?"
"What is that...?"
"It's used to... move cars." Said James with an awkward smile.
"But... Then how does it move...?"
"Like I said... with an engine."
"Then how does an engine work...?"
"So basically it generates power which is then used to move the tires by which the whole car moves." said James shrugging his shoulders. It was pointless for him to explain about a car or engine, but he explained the basic. It was the least he could do for that confused maid.
"So we don't need to pull it...?"
"No... We don't need to."
"Then how does it move?"
"Did you understand anything about what I said about generating power or not...?"
"No..."
'Sigh...!'
"Leave it. You won't understand." said James in a defeated tone. He started this conversation about cars because he was getting bored, but Sophia was unable to grasp anything. Well, it was not her fault that she couldn't follow. This world was not that developed for those kind of things, so...
"You didn't explain clearly." said Sophia with a pout. First, she did not know about what he was talking about and second, he really was terrible at explaining things. Just a month ago he was telling her about gambling to her but couldn't. Leonhart knew how to do something but was awful at describing it.
"Really..."
"Yes..." For Sophia, Leonhart was nothing but a spoiled rich kid who didn't give a damn about the world, but was also a friend. They had grown up together, played together, done many things. She was confident that he won't do anything to her even if she said or did anything wrong, as log as nothing big happens.
"It's more complicated than you think...? Do you think you can..."
Suddenly, the carriage came to a sudden stop, without James' realisation, so the sentence was cut short and a knock on the door was heard. Soon, a knight opened the door and a girl with blonde hair and sapphire eyes wearing a golden colored dress with blue lines embroidered befitting of a noble lady boarded the carriage, but she was not alone as another girl, probably same age as her, also entered just behind her. She had reddish colored hair and golden eyes wearing a beautiful orange-colored dress.
"Lady Adeline, Lady Caley." said Sophia with a smile to which both the girls nodded.
Adeline sat beside Leonhart, and Caley sat beside the maid, and once again, the carriage moved towards the duchy. James did not know why Adel, or the girl with orange hair were doing here, so he appeared confused, which didn't go unnoticed by his sister.
"Not happy to see me...?"
"No... But why are you here...?"
"We were just on an evening stroll then saw you coming, so I thought why not go irritate my big brother who is tired from 3 day-long journey? Cool idea right?" replied Adeline with a smug look on her face. She was just here to mess with him. That's the only thing she missed doing during his absent.
"Yea..." James had no answer to this question, which was already answered by her. He had doubts, but now it was clear.
"So... Will you move a little...?"
"What... Why..."
"What do you mean by why...? You don't need that much space to seat."
"And you need that much space."
"Yes."
"Why...? You want to sleep here or what...?"
"Yeah... Kind of."
"Listen, you came here out of nowhere and now want me to move to where... outside. You do realise that there is no space left." Said James in an annoyed tone.
"Yeah, Whatever." said Adeline, stretching her arms with a yawn and lied down, pushing Leonhart with her right shoulder to the last corner. Then she rested her head on his shoulder and slowly closed her as if she was sleeping.
"Hey..." James wanted to protest, but before he could say anything, Adel spoke in a soft tone, like how she spoke back in the garden.
"So... How was your Journey...?"

Artifice: Iysinfyr
Nalulthyn is the young daughter of a duke that is one day asked for a favor. This favor involves the adopted daughter of the duke from a neighboring area. This girl has had a traumatic past and has closed herself off from the world completely and reacts violently when touched by anyone but her personal maid. The duke hopes that a girl close to the age of his adoptive daughter will be what she needs to recover, but things are never as easy as they seem. First is that this adopted daughter is a Terran, a rare being from a different world that has skin and hair as white as snow and an almost alien build. Second is that there is a power to this girl, one that makes her recovery all the more dangerous to Nalulthyn and perhaps beyond. Author's note: This is a soft reboot of Artifice: Tools of the Gods. As I wrote the other story years ago I felt it would be better to do this approach as my writing has changed and improved since then. For now only two characters will return though I might reintroduce others later in the story. Even though this has the gore tag, I don't plan on being excessive with it. Most chapters shouldn't have any. The only reason I have it is to be realistic with the descriptions.
