Chapter 26: Karma

Volume 2 Chapter 13

Michael: "You always looked down on me Gabriel, it's not hard to see why. You were always stronger and smarter than me, but I always tried way harder than you I worked my ass off to get where I am!" he rushed toward me with his axe and swung it from below, it started to howl as he began following through with his swing.

The axe swiftly rose towards my chest However I quickly took a sidestep, the howling from the axe dispersed as the slash was executed, wind had been released from the axe as dust and sand rose from the ground, I lifted my leg and performed a front kick however Michael had blocked the blow with his axe and flew back a couple dozen metes.

After the sand and dust had faded, I noticed the ground had been cleaved in two and a mountain nearly 15 meters behind me had a large portion of it missing. Ares stood there dazed as if she couldn't believe such a person could cause so much destruction with 1 swing of an axe.

Me: "Ares you need to focus he is really dangerous, if he attacks you just focus on evading" I shouted without turning my head from Michael.

Michael:"You always chose the easy path, even when you weren't trying you still performed better than me, It's bullshit! Just because you were blessed with a little natural talent, strength, and intelligence you always just slacked off, I worked so hard for Damocles attention and yet he just overlooked me for you... and that bitch Lucy!" He shouted in anger and slashed the axe horizontally causing another wind slash to come towards Ares and Myself

Me: "Ares, get down!" I shouted before ducking under the incoming wave of condensed air and looked towards Michael who had already begun swinging the axe downwards towards Ares. "Soul split! Soul corruption" I said fragmenting my soul into two parts leaving half my soul in my body and the other half charging into Ares body as I fell on my chest and began rolling towards my original body to avoid the wind slash that would yet again defile another mountain and probably destroy more trees.

After I had closed the distance to my original body I returned to my own body as being split made it hard to completely control either body unless I just focused on moving one body at a time.

Michael: "Lucy... When I heard that she was banished from paradise I secretly rejoiced finally my competition was gone and you would go back to being a lazy asshole... but you didn't, for some FUCKING reason you were more fired up then before. She was the most gifted of all of us and she had caused a change in you, that's what pisses me off the most... I spent almost every day with you and never once did you take me seriously but in only a couple of years she had forced you to take her seriously." He instantly appeared between Ares and I, kicking Ares away and slashing his axe towards me. I lifted my arms in front of me and whispered "Soul shield" before the wind slash blew me away

The wind slash had hit me hard sending me rolling for at least a couple hundred yards, I had managed to get on my feet in no time but my right arm had been broken in many places and just hung there, "So you did become stronger with Damocles power but it's not enough to matter, you couldn't beat me 2000 years ago and honestly the strength you demonstrate with Damocles power is quite embarrassing." I said laughing to myself

Michael: "Hahahaa, see there's that arrogance I hate so much, but you should be terrified I haven't even begun using the power Damocles bestowed upon me." He said before raising the axe above his head and shouting heavenly meteor smash.

I instantly ran as far as I could to my left before an overwhelming impact collapsed on my shoulders causing me to hit the ground and remain there for several seconds until the pressure dissipated.

I was now laying in the outskirts of a crater ranging at least 100 meters, the wind and pressure from the impact had caused so much dust to float around. Perfect cover I whispered and chuckled before coughing a little blood up, my clothes in rags I raised my left hand and muttered "Soul extinction barrage"

Soul spear after soul spear left my hand and flew straight up out of the crater and traveled in the direction of Michael, after about 2 minutes it stopped. I had to have fired off over a couple hundred high grade soul spears, "Well that no doubt injured him, geez it's been so long since I had a real battle I took way too much damage for no reason." I said walking out of the crater in tattered clothes and a beat up right side.

I climbed out of the crater and honestly I was a little surprised, Michael was covered in blood but it appeared he only had one fatal wound, his stomach had a small hole in it that no doubt pierced something important.

Michael: "Hahahaha I am a little surprised you had enough damage to pierce my strengthened shield, that is quite some firepower, I am happy to see you alive with all those fireworks coming through the smoke though, it would've been disheartening if you died to something so flashy. However I would be more careful in the future though you could have killed your girlfriend." He tossed Ares forward who had Several small holes all over her body, her chest was going up and down every few seconds but she looked like she was in poor condition.

Me: "Well that attack did hurt like hell but with such a name I wasn't expecting to walk away with just a missing arm and a limp, what a disappointment... Damocles must have gotten weak over the years if this is all his power can amount to." I said laughing and appearing before Michael using my soul split and using my split soul to link him and then using soul devastation to briefly stun him. I had my soul quickly retreat back into my body and using the newly siphon mana to use soul extinction barrage again this time at point blank.

The first soul spear hit Michael and caused some blood to splash on my face and the dirt from the ground blew up into my face, and then I fired off another and another into the smoke and I shifted my hand in the direction of the link that bound Michael and I together, as it was a clear sign where he was.

I heard him scream in pain as I continuously fired off my souls spears, but after about a minute I stopped firing the spears as It got too quiet and the link had stopped moving. I waited for the dust to settle while I remained on high alert and made my way quickly to Ares side and began healing her with my Angel's blessing.

Michael: "Well you know even when I showed Damocles all the proof that you intended to free Lucy, he was reluctant to believe me, he just didn't want to believe that his favorite Angel would betray him. When I mentioned you trying to save Lucy he became furious and was more than willing to give me the power to stop you. He wanted you brought back alive but... well you were still too strong and I couldn't take you back alive so I was forced to eliminate you. He will believe me after he examines my wounds and discovers your energy." He said walking through the smoke a little bloody with a couple gold ball sized holes in his stomach and arms

??? "I am afraid I can't let you kill him Michael." A soft solemn voice stated from the shadows just behind me

Gabriel: "T-this voice?!?! Lucy? How... how are you here?" I said stuttering as I turned around to see the girl whom I had betrayed for no good reason, A beautiful girl with long disheveled blonde hair and blue eyes pierced through my very soul.

Lucy: "You know why I am here Gabriel, you sent me here... You may have forgotten but I have had a very long time to piece together what happened all those years ago." She said calmly with no hint of anger in her voice

Michael: "You should be trapped in the void, you have to be an illusion... Well it matters not if you are real or not I have the power to completely annihilate Gabriel which means I have to power to destroy you too Lucy!" Michael said as he used his Angel's blessing to begin healing himself, and stood his ground as he cautiously watched Lucy's every move.

Lucy: "Haha match me, I may have been sealed here because of Gabriel's betrayal but that was just a fake excuse used by Damocles to seal me away, I was really sealed away because Damocles feared my growth. If he had waited 10 more years I would have had everything set and could have rivaled him however I needed Gabriel and ironically the one person I needed the most for my plan betrayed me." She said giggling before raising her hand towards Michael who instantly jumped to the side

Michael: "I don't care why you were sealed you can't match the power Damocles bestowed upon me." He said lowering into his fighting stance, and noticed the axe felt a little light and he looked down only to discover the whole axe head had been destroyed, grunting he tosses the weapon to the side before sighing. "I can still kill you and Gabriel without a stupid weapon."

Lucy: "Like I said before I won't let you kill Gabriel, he deserves a fate a hundred times worse than death, and your power can't even match half my strength...

Me: "Pardon... I know what I did was wrong but I started looking for you to set you free, I wanted to atone for what I did." I said as I spoke in an earnest tone

Lucy: "Well thats nice, I know you aren't the direct cause of my imprisonment however I have to punish you for what you've done. Did you guys know this world was beyond primitive when I first got here? The people of this world were so unintelligent and weak.

They suffered so many losses any time a beast would attack, I first felt pity for them and granted them power to rival the beasts of this world... however the longer I was trapped in the void the more time I had to think about the betrayal and I set my plan into motion.

I would offer my power to the natives of this world and change them slowly into gods and then I would slowly feed more greedy individuals more power and of course their bodies couldn't handle that much power and they manifested into abominations, after they were abominations they were banished and I erased the memories of them ever existing from the others.

Before I banished them I placed limits on their powers, in the future some would learn how to break their limits but I cared not for them as they would still be severely weaker than myself, and as the abominations in numbers grew I continued making more gods and abominations, the abominations later became known as devils and I ordered the gods to fight the devils as they were impure." She said smiling wryly

Me: "Why would you create gods and devils?" I asked

Lucy: "At first they started off weak but slowly grew more powerful without me, as I pit them against each other they became stronger at an alarming rate, I had the Gods become symbols of peace and prosperity and after every race on this planet had become reliant of them I had them kidnap other races and bring them to me, I even began summoning heroes from earth just so I could acquire more power quicker.

I absorbed the souls from the crack in the void, only the rate at which I absorbed power was too slow I needed more in order to strengthen myself, I needed a lot more in order to open the void and then I just had the Gods think they were the purest race on this planet, I made them question the other races, why would they need to share this world with other races, weaker races.

Beings called Viis came into existence shortly after I began mixing my power with the natives, I was surprised that they were superior to Gods and Devils but chose to limit themselves, they were indeed smarter than Gods and Devils and couldn't be used as they relied on reason which made it hard to brainwash them.

Anyways I wiped the memories of their origins and banished them, and then wiped the memories of their origins from Gods as I didn't want any of this leading back to me, then the war with Gods and Angels began.

The war between them raged and the Viis got involved, and sealed the Gods and Devils with me... just like I wanted. Let's say I let the Gods and Devils mature before having them wage war so when they were sealed away I could absorb them and get more power from them then I gave them." She said before clapping and then emitting an aura that made Michael and I kneel before her

Lucy: "Damocles should have come here himself, it was a mistake sending you alone Michael. Don't worry your end will be swift." She said before raising her arm

Michael: "Shorter than your story I hope, what a boring story." He said before the center of his chest vanished instantly, he coughed up blood and then collapsed onto his side revealing his dead eyes

Ares grabbed my leg and made me turn my head before whispering something to me,

Ares: "Ughh Gabriel where am I?" She whispered coughing up a little blood

Me: "Listen closely Ares, use my power immediately, when Angels come pass along a message "Lucy is free." I said this before transferring the majority of my power into her and handing her the ring around my neck. Using the rest of my power to summon her to a planet with intelligent life. Lucy pointed her hand towards Ares but I quickly stepped in the way.

Lucy: "So you sent her away? Hehe how did you know I wouldn't kill you to kill her?" She said clicking her tongue,

Me: "You already said I deserve a death far worse than death. You know... It's good to see you Lucy." I said smiling

Lucy: "Well it won't be a big problem, I am looking forward to the way this will play out... I haven't been this excited in a long time... Well come on Gabriel lets go to the void, I created a spot just for you." She said before pointing her hand at my remaining arm before a portion of it disappeared and I lost the only arm I had left."

Gabriel: "Well shit, I doubt regeneration works in the void..." I said before getting on my feet
