《Legends of the Shadow Immortal》Chapter 11

Zi Ming had a headache reminiscing about yesterday's events. He wasn't able to sleep at all. His sister had chased him relentlessly and beat him up until a bit of the anger she felt was relieved.
To attest to that, he had bruises all over his face, panda eyes, and cut on the lower lip. It was a funny sight.
He walked his tired, zombified body to the backyard and started a workout despite the pain.
It wasn't long before the small wolf passed by. The little guy never slept much and was always looking for fun. Today he had probably woken up before everyone once more. When he saw his master training, he decided to stay and watch.
The cold didn't seem to bother the little canine. He sat under a tree surrounded by snow and observed in silence.
"Heilang, want to join me?"
Zi Ming asked the black pup. He thought a long time about it and finally chose to call him Zi Heilang. It was a simple and fitting name for the animal. The little guy also seemed to like it.
"Wu?"
The pup wasn't too sure what his master meant. Wild animals generally were smarter than dogs and cats, but they still had problems comprehending human language from the get-go. Zi Ming knew that beasts could cultivate and become smarter, his father told him that pets in the cities could understand human language.
The wolf seemed to be born not too long ago, plus he had only lived here for a few days so it couldn't be helped.
Zi Ming looked at Heilang and thought. So far, he knew he had extreme speed despite his low cultivation level. The wolf was only at body refinement level two, which was quite impressive for a newborn, but still relatively weak. He wanted to test the extent of the wolf's abilities and see if he had more tricks in his bag. Sparring with it would be a perfect way to find out.

The wolf didn't seem to understand Zi Ming's request, so the latter went to grab a spear. As soon as Zi Ming pointed it at him, Heilang stood up and wagged his tail excitedly.
"I guess you understand this, huh? Haha..." Zi Ming laughed and got fight ready. "Here I come little guy!"
The wolf barked and moved like a ghost behind him.
The two of them battled for several minutes before they stopped. At the end of the exchange, Zi Ming had an overall idea of the wolf's strength. At the moment, besides good senses and extreme agility, Heilang couldn't pose a threat to him. The animal had the strength of body refinement level two, but the speed of level five.
Zi Ming had different expectations but he was also relieved. He suspected the animal had some secret healing power. He wasn't sure how but he knew his sudden recovery had something to do with him. The first time he met the animal, he licked his wounds.
"Maybe..." Zi Ming wanted to try something crazy. He didn't have anything to lose in any case.
Zi Ming cut his finger with his spear. He put his bloody finger in front of the pup and waited.
The wolf sniffed for several seconds and then licked.
"Maybe it was just my imagination..." Zi Ming shook his head and sighed. He looked at the small cut for a moment but nothing happened.
However, all of a sudden, the cut started to close itself. In less than ten seconds, the finger seemed to be as good as new.
"What the hell?" Zi Ming was completely shocked. "Heilang, can you do that again?"
Zi Ming tried the experiment once more and wasn't disappointed. He also let the animal lick his face but besides the cut on his lip, the bruises didn't seem to disappear.

"Maybe it only works with small cuts?" Zi Ming thought, but then he quickly dismissed this theory. When he was in the forest he had extremely severe wounds and bruises, but he was somehow healed back in top form.
"It seems as if this little guy likes blood...let me think, let me..." An absurd idea struck Zi Ming's mind.
"I hope, I'm not thinking this wrong, otherwise I can bid farewell to this lady-killer face..."
Zi Ming dangerously placed the spear on his face and cut. The crimson liquid flowed out from his cheek. The pain wasn't extreme but it was doubled at the location of the bruise.
"Wuwu..." The little guy was starting to worry.
"Sorry Heilang, I won't be so rash next time." Zi Ming approached and said.
The cut was bigger than the previous wounds. Heilang hurried to lick as he also realized that he could heal Zi Ming. In the span of half a minute, the wound closed and the bruise also disappeared.
"Hmm...As I thought." Zi Ming touched his cheek and said. He glanced at the pup and asked.
"Heilang, do you like blood perhaps?"

The Only Real Cultivator
Vincent was relaxing in physics class when he and his entire class were teleported into a vast other world, where everybody called themselves cultivators and fought with magical martial arts. Vincent gained power over plants, allowing him to turn seeds into all sorts of vegetation. He ventures out into this new world filled with phony cultivators to set the record straight. He can make one declaration with absolute certainty, “I am the only real cultivator!” - You will see an overpowered main character with a cheat ability. You will see "comedy". You will see a normal guy who gets teleported to another world. You will see classic wuxia elements like Qi cultivation and alchemy. You will see grammar from a native speaker. You won't see a ruthless MC who kills everybody that offends him. You won't see harem. It's essentially everything I like about light novels, web novels, and wuxia all shoved into one story. If you’d like an unholy mix of overpowered main character, wuxia, fantasy, and LitRPG - give The Only Real Cultivator a try. 6/1/2020 edit: Some bloke plagerized this book and put it on amazon, titling it "Ancient Cultivator." tbh I'm kinda flattered that I'm worth plagerizing. Still, don't buy the book. The whole thing's available here for free.

Avaria: A Pay To Win Adventure
Avaria is a game like world where the wealthy are the strong. Want more strength, a specific skill or spell, well there's an item for that. If you can get it of course. These items are rare and far from plentiful, hoarded by the wealthy that can afford them. Acquired from Avaria itself, these items are dropped from strong monsters and dungeons, so if someone doesn't have the money, they must get it the hard and dangerous way. Don’t worry though, even the poor are born with at least one skill or spell that could help them in life, apart from the basic mana skills that everyone is born with. Usually these skills and spells are passed down from a parent. Of course, that doesn't mean they can use it. Any skills from birth are locked and unusable to start. Unlockable through great effort and practise, something many are unable to do without some guidance. There is another much quicker way however, through gaining experience from killing monsters and using that experience to unlock it. Adam is a human summoned to this world from earth. What effect can he have on this world when he is given a skill that he knows can be used to help many people, with the desire to do just that. Unfortunately it won't be so easy, as there are many obstacles in his way. It’s a cruel world, but he will have help and doesn’t have to do it alone as he meets new companions and makes friends along the way. Lianna is another human from earth who is summoned the same time as Adam. Though things go much differently for her as she is quickly enslaved, beaten and tortured. Unable to understand what her enslavers are telling her, she has a difficult time following through with the commands given to her. Forced to fight creatures and level up against her will. Authors Note: Aiming to post 1 chapter/week, while writing at least 1 chapter/week.

All in the hopes of an uncertain survival. _________ This fiction has NOT been abandoned. I made a haughty promise earlier to not worry because I'll continue this series, and with things lately, I've only proved myself a liar. Further promises dwindled, and I've lost trust. So many things have been going on recently that I've been booked. I will refrain from making any future guarantees or promises as my busy schedule will stay with me for a long long while. Time for me to actually spend on writing and revising won't appear until at the least November 19. I won't say expect that's when I'll restart, but you can expect expecting it to maybe happen. That's really shallow. But with everything going on, I've let my small reading base down. I apologize. I still stick by my statement though that I won't abandon this project. I plan to stick it to the end, no matter the delay. Most importantly, thank you everyone; readers who both like and dislike my work. I appreciate your time spent on my dumb imagination. Stay toasty my readers in this winter season. Cheers. UPDATE: We're back on track. Thank you for your patience. Any future readers, heyo! Glad you're here. UPDATE 2: So far it's been 21 days since I last uploaded a chapter. The best thing done for any fiction, no matter how good it is, is that it continues, and I have a bad history with that. 1 fiction on hiatus and already more delays with less than 20 chapters in this fiction. I've been very preoccupied with adding more things to do in my life rather than actually committing to any particular thing. That applies primarily to this. I cannot abandon this, as busy as my future looks and will look as I get busier and busier. Someday, I hope, I will be able to sit down and just write. just. write. But for now, I ask for patience. I suppose I'm glad this fiction hasn't picked up so that I don't disappoint too many people if any really. But I need to commit and it's going to happen sometime and sometime soon. No more flowery words. I'll see you later. UPDATE 3: It's very evident I won't be able to pick up this story for a while. With AP Testing, competitions, and other things I am busier than ever. But I must complete this fiction. I have too. Until next time. UPDATE 4: It is now the summer. I owe everyone an apology. Chances are, nobody's around to see this, and that is okay. I only blame myself for this sort of brokenness of a fiction, not that it is actually that bad but I am just exaggerating it for dramatic effect. But what's not exaggerated is the severity of my broken promise. I apologize for my naive claims about finishing a novel that I couldn't finish and that I didn't have the discipline to finish. Nor the skills, really, I was and am still an immature writer. What is to place now? I want to make it clear I understand this is my fault. I will man up to this. And I will accept any criticism. I understand I messed up. Reading Stephen King's On Writing made it clear to me that I need to do two things:Read lots. And write lots.I have done neither. If I don't have the time to read often, how do I expect to write? I need to become more experienced. I need to become a serious writer. So if I want to dream of continuing, I need to at least fulfill both requirements. I enjoy writing. I haven't written seriously outside of school in a while. I planned to write this summer and finish this. I made a lot of promises that I didn't keep.So there's that. I won't enact any self-pity, or be foolishly obsessed. What I did was wrong, and I must deal with it. I let down readers. And I apologize.I hope I can find forgiveness. This is a writer's sin.I won't promise I'll finish this. I intend to finish this, at some point, because writing is fun and I want to write. But how things are don't reflect that. Maybe I'll finish this at some point. Maybe I won't. I won't be naive to make that promise.I thank everyone who has read this if this is the end. If not, and hopefully not, I thank everyone who is to read future chapters. I thank everyone who allowed me to live in the miniscule little dream of mine as I passed my days. I thank everyone who cares enough to read this. Until next time, peace everyone. Thank you. You are all great readers and great people. I wish everyone the best in whatever reading/writing endeavors follow you henceforth.
