------OFFERS UP SACRIFICIAL CHAPTER---------
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When I get closer to the platform. It seems that it has small steps on the entire side I am looking at. Three small steps to reach the top. Looks to be a wooden platform at the top. Before stepping on the platform charging ahead blindly. I decided to look all around the platform.
The platform is a rectangle that has a width of 50ft. and a length of 100 ft. Those three stairs steps in case the entire platform. Guess I am allowed to come in from any angle I please. Moving on, there is a single golem in the direct middle of platform. In front of the golem is a bell. Guess I have to ring that to win this.
I also noticed that this golem is one that looks more human like. Its skin is that of a dark skinned human. It has the standard eyes, ears, and this one even has a nose, no mouth though. I surmise that I am even allowed to kill this one. So I take it I have to somehow survive my encounter with him. While either killing, or distracting long enough so I can ring the bell.
So I choose the shortest distance to the bell. The right side of the golem about 25 ft. to the golem. I step up the small set of stairs. Immediately the golem turns to me then a big red X appeared out of no where. Flinging me off the platform.
What the hell? Ok, I recovered guess I am not allowed to come in from that direction. I went in from the front of the golem. Now I am starting 50 ft. away from the golem. I take the steps up and when me feet hit the wooden floor it creaked. Then a big red X appeared again I was then flung a distance away. Skidding to a stop.
Shit! How do I do this?
...
...
...
I am really stupid this has confirmed it. I go behind the golem this time. When I get to the top of the steps. I make sure that when I place my feet down I do it as gently as possible. Success! I didn't get flung off this time.
The conclusion that I came to was that the golem has eyes, ears, and a nose for a reason. This was the first clue. The second clue was that when it faced toward me I was thrown off, failing. The third clue was the fact that the floor boards creaked when I stepped on them.
This means this is a stealth and not get caught trial. To either stealth up to the golem and kill it. Or to just somehow distract it. I am rather pissed at getting thrown off those couple of times. So I elected to slay the golem.
I take my steps very slowly, but every third step or so makes a creaking noise. It is really muffled so you can't hear it over a great distance. This means that I did not get kicked out by the golem. I realize though I am going to have to do something about it. I need to be stealthier to kill it. So the first 10 ft. of the platform behind the golem about 40 ft. away from him is what I use. Including the 50. ft width of the platform.
I begin practicing my foot falls. Trying to make as little noise as possible. Tried heel to toe, tried using my blades of my feet first, I even tried crawling. All of them worked to some degree to muffle the sounds of my stepping, but the crucial part was the fact of the boards creaking.
This took me about an hour of messing around before I learned it was cause by my weight displacement. The solution to my problem lies in the fact that I have to evenly distribute my weight. This was incredibly hard to actually do to achieve. In the end the most suitable walk to distribute my weight evenly was to walk using the blades of my feet first. Then placing the foot down. So no one part of the foot is uneven when landing.
I finally felt I was somewhat ready to tackle on this golem. I slowly, yet quickly at the same time approach the golem. Luckily all the noisy water that was on me before. Has all mostly dried up. Since I was in the water too hopefully I don't smell to bad. So I don't think I have to worry about that sense.
30 ft. away and I see no problems. 20... 10.... I calm my breathing trying as lightly as possible to breath. Which is easier to do after all that combat training. I regulated my breathing into tiny inaudible bursts. 5ft... 3... I materialize my trusty weapons. I sink the dagger in the back where the heart is located. The karambit I use in such a way that I was trying my damnist to decapitate it.
I was not successful in decapitating the golem; however I was still able to kill the creature. As it melted deformed into the wooden floor, disappearing into the cracks. I then walked to the bell and rang it as hard as I could. Then next moment Alice walks out from behind a wall a little ways away smiling.
Alice: "Congratulations! You finished my obstacle course. Cheating of course to finish it, but finishing it none the less." she is smiling that trademarked,sadistic, devilish smile of hers.
Dremal: "I... I uhh.. The course you made was to high...."
Alice: "You not only used more magic than what you were supposed to, but you even had the nerve to lower the difficulty even more. By trapping the golem that was supposed to set the pace for you." She interrupted Dremals excuses. "You even finished way later than I expected too. Now we have to make dinner then do evening forms and skill executions. Tomorrow I will have you run the course again. Without herbs this time."
Gulp. We went back to the training hall and made dinner. Then we trained in combat are forms and skills. Needless to say she beat the tar out of me. Tired I took a bath then went to bed.
The next day I had to run the course as soon as we finished morning calisthenics. Like she said it was without herbs. With all the training I did yesterday learning shit. I was able to complete it with much, much difficulty.
Also I should mention that the course changed. The balancing beam was the same, but the Forest of traps. Over the two weeks that I was running the course it changed from. Forest to : Sandy desert, ruins, caves, a jungle, a full blown city (which I learned some assassins creed style parkouring in), swamps, rocky hills, and a tall grassy plains for that half a mile course. I guess this was supposed to prepare me for traps and situations for all types of environments.
This was not the only obstacle to change either. The laser room changed too. The lasers layout was never the same. Also the lasers did something different each time too. The fact that they burned was still constant, but when I touched the lasers not only did they burn. They sometimes shot out arrows at the part that touched the laser. Also produced flames, sent needles out, on the last time I ever got burnt on that course. I touched the laser and it somehow produced an anesthetic to the leg that touched it. The anesthetic not only paralyzed my leg from moving correctly if at all. It also intensified any and all pain received. That sucked.
The rope and cliff climb section of the course was not all that bad. The only thing that really changed was the structure of the cliff faces. Making some hand holds really awkward to get. The next big change would be the numbers of golems throwing stuff increases.
The swimming pool added some... excitement to it. Alice decided that I had to easy of a time in there so she put a few... large ... pet fishes in there. This greatly improved my swimming abilities and my sprint to get the fuck away abilities. I think a couple of those times I learned how to run on water without magic.
The next would be the balancing poles. There height changed to increase making a bigger zigzagging climb to make. It also added on annoying golems that I had to fight as I made my way up and around. At least I could kill these ones.
Last, but not least is the assassination or distraction platform. That changed from wooden floors, to gravel, to broken glass, dried leaves, twigs everywhere, after the first week of this it changed into a new structure it was a building that had different sections in it with all these elements in it. It was a maze like building that I had to check each room to find the golem. Every time I got caught it would teleport me out to the starting place. Throwing me onto the ground harshly.
Two weeks went by like this. I learned a lot from this course that seemingly ever changes. Today Alice comes up to me to tell be I should be excited. She is upping the difficulty. She reached down to my belt and turned it 3 more times. Times 6 gravity. I was expecting it so I didn't get slammed down to the ground this time. I had a lot more strength than before.
This does not mean that it was light or anything. No, in fact it sucked. I was once again stuck with slow rugged movements. It annoyed me even further to find out that since Alice wasn't going through the courses anymore at nights that she has had more time to focus on her own training. Her gravity belt she said is already at times 10.
That time I had to go through the course sucked so much. I had to minimize every single one of my movements. Which in hind sight was a great benefit. Saves me a lot of energy for the future. I probably died on that time about 30 times. Didn't fall off the beam, but the ever-changing forest of traps, laser room, cliffs, swimming pool, poles, everything had there way with me. Whenever I was to bad off Alice came over and reluctantly healed me, so I could continue.
6 months passed by like this. The difficulty was always increasing. She put enemies always searching for me in the Ever Changing Forest of Traps. The chasing golem follows me even faster, including following me in the laser room (which doesn't affect him nor does he trigger anything). The cliff golems got better and better aiming skills. While the cliffs got shittier climb ability.
The monsters.... pets... in the swimming pool got increasingly more dangerous and faster swimmers as well. Also the combat skills of the golems that I fought increased. Basically everything got way harder.
After 3 months went by she upped my gravity as well now I am at 10 times gravity. She didn't tell me how high hers was. Nor did I want to know, all it does is depress me knowing I can't keep up.
(Note: Not sure If I confused anyone. Only 6 months went by. That 3 month thing is there to tell you what happened half way through the 6 month obstacle course training.)
Now here we are. She tells me that our skills are decent enough to get out of here. That means time for revenge!!!!!!
Dremal: "Do you think I am able to finally slaughter all those damnable spiders?"
Alice: "Depends on if you retained what you learned here in your blood lust. If you do then yes. If not than you may die quite a few horrible deaths. Oh, speaking of which I guess I should remind you in case you have forgotten. This game you can die in. Maybe you have gotten complaisant being in a place where you can't die. So here I am reminding you. Outside of here you will die."
Dremal: "Don't worry I remember. I even realize I have to change out of these training clothes into our starting clothes. Also that we can't take any of the weapons we have been training with."
Alice: "Hoh, glad you have been paying attention and remembering."
We made..... I made a hearty breakfast for us. She doesn't even cook anymore, just makes me do everything. Then we collect out starting backpacks. Putting on our starting outfits as well. Alice must've filled my backpack with herbs again last night because its full. We walked over to the door and she turns the doorknob to the left and exits. I quickly follow making a mental note to one day come back here.
Free at last. Time to KILLL THEM ALL!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Author: Woot! Time skips! Finally done with training. Sorry if this chapter felt like I rushed through it. Basically I was running out of ideas to use. I didn't want to be repetitive about it either so I bum rushed through it so we can start exploring the world!!! Shit... now I have to come up with enemies... and a world...worlds.... O GAWD *foams at the mouth falling over*
