Chapter 26 :
WITHIN A CERTAIN MIND
Rapid footsteps hurried through the hall. Swiftly traveling through the lightless castle, was a entity made of complete shadows.
Stopping in front of a massive illusionary looking gate made of what seemed to be spirits, howling and screaming on it.
Kneeling the shadow cupped a intangible pair black hands together. And spoke.
(Shadow) “Sir, the preparations are ready. Our troops can begin the moment you give the word.”
Behind the gate of spirits, was a throne made of black shadowy flames. On it sat a blur that somewhat resembled a human. It had no definite shape and seemed to flicker from the movements of the black flames.
(Sir) “Good, we WILL retake this world! Soon the appointed time will be near. Get the men ready! We shall crush those bastards in a pincer attack! To force me...the disgrace! Just wait, you will regret messing with me! HAHA...AHAHAHAHAHAHA!”
Evil (ebil) laughter echoed throughout the dark castle, as movements from the darkness suddenly increased. Unseen creatures moved in the shadows of darkness, rushing to get their missions done. Preparing to regain back what they had lost…

WILL’S BASE
Opening his heavy eyelids, Will blinked as he discovered that he wasn’t dead! Yay! Well...it still felt like hell though.
While he had never drunk before, as he was a good little kitty back on Earth. He had heard stories about hangovers, like the one he had now.
(I HATE PAIN! You’re not suppose to hurt cute cuddly kitties! That’s just not how it works! Freaking pain...the hell?)
Checking around, the entire base looked like someone had ransacked the place.
The box had completely split into tiny pieces, the newly made ramp had severe cracks running throughout it. The beastkin girls #1,2,4, and 5 were lying in a heap next to the also cracked black bridge.
And the creator of this mess, was sleeping where she had sat screaming before. Beastkin girl #3 didn’t really seemed to have much problems with her hearing or anything really, as she was drooling on the sandy ground.
(What time is it?)
Checking the sky, Will remembered that before he went out, the sky was beginning to darken. Now, the afternoon light was flowing through the treetop, shining on the limp forms of the inhabitants below.
(Great...I wasted my time, lost my minions, and got knocked out for a day? Some civilization these people are...huff...well I guess they are just scared?)
Creating a far better image than what really transpired, Will got up from his spot on the sandy ground to check on the pool. He just made the thing, so if anything happened he would be a very mad little kitty.
Peering over, Will looked into the inside of the pool. The black ramp had cracks, but for whatever strange reason the inside still held the perfectly clear “water” without any kind of damage.
(Maybe because of the water? Wasn’t there something about fluids being able to block off sounds or something?)
Not understanding how, while everything else was messed up, the pool was the only thing that wasn’t affected.
(...Time for a bath!)
Ignoring the reason, Will decided that he should be the first to test out the pool, or bath in this case. He did make the thing, and from what the beastkin girl #3 was yapping about, she thought he was planning to eat them!
Like hell! People don’t even TASTE good! Plus they have fur and all that...fruits are tastier! Mew!
He wasn’t going to let them bad mouth a purrfectly made bath as if it was a cooking pot! Besides what kind of pot is mostly underground?
Repairing the damages to the ramp, Will was once again reminded that without a supply of munchies, he wasn’t going to be able to do much work.
Once again having to micromanage how much mana he had left, Will checked his mana.
Mana : 20/20
(The only good thing is that my mana recovered...well better check how my status is doing.)
Opening his full status.

Physical State : Healthy
(It seems like my “Abnormal State Resistance” finally leveled up, whatever that does...and my “Needle Creation” also went up a level. Well that’s the good thing in this situation. Hopefully, my “Flame Breathe” will be able to get stronger if I level it up enough.)
Imagining him spewing out flames that were hot enough to just melt all of his enemies. NOW that would be OP… and boring.
Being way too powerful would eventually become way too boring. Nothing to do or fight, no point of trying to do anything really at that point.
Thinking of such a sad outcome, Will decided firmly that he would never ever become OP.
Appudling himself for his determination, Will proceeded to summon some zombies to aid him to gathering more munchies. The faster the better.
After creating a group of ten cat zombies, he had them all split up and retrieve as many “Spiky Needle Balls” as they could gather.
Curling cutely on the semi-repaired ramp, Will observed the sleeping Beastkin girls. Well, that's one sleeping and the other 4 knocked out.
Seriously, when they said females were loud, they didn’t LITERALLY meant it. But sadly that did become reality, which is why Will is always careful of what he wishes for.
At least that's what he thought. Unfortunately even in stories the MC never CHOOSE to be OP normally, they just became that way when they finally thought about it…. poor kittycat it seems wishes will just stay wishes.

Or course that's something that will be FAR in the future...or is it?
-an hour later-
(Where the hell are they? Not a single minion came back...how odd…)
Using his passive ability,Will searched for the connection his zombies.
There wasn't any.
(? So, yeah...did they all die or something? You can't seriously expect me to keep an eye on them at all times right? Great...just wasted half my mana for nothing.)
Hungry and mad, the little cute kittycat was sad that he was going to lose more CUTENESS levels. OH the HORROR.
Remember a skinny, unfluffy kitty is a bad kitty.
(Let's do this again.)
“MEW MEW!” (Create Undead!)
This time in front of Will stood a white cat skeleton.
(Thinking about it, I really haven't been using these skeletons much have I? They cost more and I just can't get many of them...huff… the problems of being a Necromancer that people don't see. They only see the massive armies created, but behind each one is a lot of work.)
Gaining another bit of enlightenment about the “misunderstood” Necromancers. Unaware of the path that actually LEAD to the job. Not to mention the massive war that resulted from said job.
But as people say, ignorance is bliss.
(Time to try out this thing again!)
Through the connection between him and the created skeleton, Will took control of it and was able to see through the undead’s eyes.
Well actually it's empty sockets, but that's just details.
Peering through his new pair of eyes, it was as if he could see from two perspective at once.
One side can see the skeleton stiffy standing on the sandy ground. The other sees a adorable white kitty curled up on the black ramp in the pool.
Closing his real pair of eyes, Will focused with his mind and took control of the entire skeleton’s body.
(Man this is like controlling a game character! Well other than the fact that I see everything first person… Though I don't really remember seeing that I am able to do this on the job info, how odd…)
He started to test run the new body. It kinda reminds him of those mecha anime and manga. Where the person just sat and used controls to move the robot.
(First, right paw up!)
Will was able to see through the skeleton’s eyes as its right law was raised upwards.
(Paw down, while lifting right leg.)
The bony paw went down as the right skeleton leg went up. Right until the leg was completely pointing up, something that only a person that's REALLY flexible or dead can do. Go thing it's one of those.
After several more experimental movements, Will was able to control the body relatively well. It felt like he was flexing mental muscles to control the physical movements of the skeleton. Once he got the hang of it, moving around became a breeze.
(Time to check out what's outside, and why my zombies are dead....and get something to eat while I’m at it...I’m hungry.)
Politing his cat skeleton, he made the undead start moving to the somewhat cracked bridge. Moving the fleshless limbs, the skeleton easily walked over the black bridge to the other side.
Getting off the end, the skeleton took a quick glance around.
Right, trees. Left, more trees. Front, even more trees, and and a bunch of crushed branches.
(? Did something big go by? I don’t think my zombies could have been able to crush such as big branch…)
While eyeing a branch that had a width of a feet across and was several meters long. The brown bark had long marks that resembled those that came from claws all over it.
A closer look showed that there seemed to have been some sort of a fight here, as the land nearby had marks of claws on the surface. However there weren’t any traces of blood or pieces of body parts around.
Padding too the claw marks on the ground, Will raised the skeleton’s paw and traced it. From what he could tell it was at least several times bigger than the cat skeleton. Then again, who wasn’t bigger then Will? He hadn’t seen one thing smaller than a meter tall. And that included the Beastkin girls as well.
(Oh yeah! I was going to take a bath! Well, I could take a bath while control the skeleton, at least I think so…)
As Will was thinking, outside the cat skeleton just stood there, as there weren’t any knid of commands given.
Nearby was a large bush of “Blue Grapes”, where 3 green colored jaguar looking monsters stealthy hid.
They had their full attention on the skeleton that appeared from the mysterious encirclement of branches.
Attracted by the sounds of food (Beastkin #3), the 3 monsters decided that it was better to ambush the prey then going into the strange place.
Unaware of the monster’s existence, as Will was deeply thinking, he gave an order to the skeleton to at least pick up a few fruits nearby for him to eat.
(Let’s see, if I heat up the water again as I wait for the skeleton to get me food. Then I’ll be able to repair everything afterwards! Yeah, that’s a good plan, it's so - WOAH!)
As Will’s real body was getting up, he still had the skeleton’s vision as well as his own.
He didn’t pay much attention to the other view as the skeleton was going to a nearby “Blue Grapes” bush, but he sure did when suddenly the skeleton was smashed into pieces.
A greenish blur was all the skeleton saw, before it completely became pieces of calcium.
(............YOU *BEEP* *BEEP*, I’ll *BEEP* that *BEEP*, you FU*KER! I’m gonna make you into my MINIONS!...wait what did I just say?)

Shades of the Moon
I'm rewriting this story! I have taken down Arc 2 and Arc 3 already to avoid spoiling my new novel. The only reason I'm keeping the first 10 chapters is nostalgia; the writing is awkward and the story is not plotted out properly, but it's here if anyone wants to compare it to the new one. If you'd like to read a more professionally written version of this story, I highly suggest checking out my Synergy. Synopsis version too-many-to-count: “I see,” Kiona said. “But . . . you’re changing once again, aren’t you?” The entity considered her question, lifting a clawed hand towards the night sky. They observed the back of their hand idly, watching the glowing orange veins pulse alongside their pitch-black exoskeleton. The wind picked up right then, and Kiona shivered—just as much from the cold as from the savage grin on the creature's face. “That’s right,” the entity said, clenching their hand slowly into a fist. They let out a quiet laugh, staring defiantly at the Moon as it rose from behind the clouds. “We are shades, yet not exactly. Not like the others. Here, in this world, we've become something more. We are the Shades of the Moon.” There was a heartbeat of silence, during which Kiona joined the entity in their skygazing. The light-green Moon loomed over the city, shining like the entity's eyes. It promised otherworldly knowledge and terrible secrets. It promised progress. It promised change. In that moment, Kiona couldn't have imagined anything more beautiful. “Shades of the Moon, huh?” she said, smiling a bit. It had a nice ring to it.
