《Shit Hit's the Fan RPG Style (Rewrite》chapter 4 departure

I spent the last two or three hours explaining everything I know about what happened and some of the benefits to the system, of course the SWAT leader didn’t believe me at first but when you see items popping out of thin air you kind of have to believe something strange is happening. After the explanation he started to think to himself but I just ignored that and grabbed the spears and glaives that I made earlier. I put the more sturdier ones in my inventory and handed them out to the group, even our new member got one.
“These are thanks for watching my back when I was taking care of the queen, they are made so you don’t have to get up close to your enemy and should last a while. If it breaks just find some tape and tape it back together unless you have someone that has the tools to actually attach it.” (Me)
“Thanks for the weapons also if you could make more weapons in the future that would be great.” (SWAT)
“About that; this is my farewell gift as well, I will be leaving in the morning until then I will help you guess defend this place but I suggest that you don’t stay here for long seeing how we are still in the middle of winter.” (Me)
“You’ll waste our resources then leave?” (SWAT)
“Well seeing how it’s not yours I’m not wasting anything, anyway you can eat monster meat but I would check if it’s poisonous first.” (Me)
“What about water?” (SWAT)
“When it snows collect it and boil the water, it should be alright to drink after several minutes of boiling. Oh and why do I have to stay with people that can’t trust me?” (Me)
I turned to look at the others which made them downcast their eyes, the argument lasted for a while until he finally gave up on the issue. He is very stubborn and will be good for these people but if I stay in the group there will be more conflict and will probably cause more problems. I spent the night going through the building collecting all the bodies that were left behind, either from monster or human it didn’t matter. I burnt the human bodies while I dismantled the spiders bodies, once I was done dismantling I started to make some armor for the group and sterilize the meat. Once the meet was done I double checked it to see if there was any poison left.

sterilized spider meat
this meat was sterilized for several hours so all poison is extracted, lost the deadly flavor but still tastes good
After checking every piece of meat I started making spider jerky so it will last longer for the others, while waiting I put the armor and spear I made side by side and inspected them. They looked crude and will make a person look fat but they will protect you.
Crude Spider warrior armor
this armor was made by a crude smith that has little experience in crafting armor but it gets the job done, made from Hive spiders these plates of armor are very durable to all attacks except for fire based attacks,
*+5 Str
*+15 Vit
*-5 AGI
*+3 Luck
*700/700 durability
Crude Spider spear
the spear head itself is a deadly weapon coupled with a good pole to give it some reach creates a deadly weapon, this weapon is deadly but it has less durability than normal spears
*300/300 durability
*15% More Piercing power
*20% cutting power increase
*+ 10 Agility
Now let’s get this to everyone, I got up and passed the equipment around to everyone but most of the survivors didn’t look at me as they grabbed the gear from me. I wonder if they are scared of me. After distribution was done I went back to check on the meat. the white dried meat is looking good at the moment but I should probably add some seasoning to get some better taste, I layered the spider meat with powdered garlic and red Chile. It should taste good but then again I’m not that good with this kind of thing.
I informed the group about the meat that I prepared and showed them the method to sanitize monster meat, after I was done teaching them the basics I left the building. The surroundings were filled with different kinds of insects such as; spiders, scorpions, giant grass hoppers, Razor Mantis. The problem I have though is that I only gained a single level from clearing out several buildings; the only thing that is going for me is that I have leveled up my skills along with gaining sword mastery and slash. Slash is a sword skill that produces a wave of air pressure produced by your sword and expands your range of your slash, I can produce about five waves but I’ll have to wait an hour or two to recover from loss of stamina.

It has been about a week since I left the group and I have been held up in the warehouses near the edge of town. I’m actually really lucky since I was able to get the food stored in here before it went bad, I even have ice cream inside of my inventory. I have cleared several blocks and the only enemies I have found are bugs, I can clear out most of the enemies around here with easy but I can’t take on most of the bigger bugs like the spider queen. As one can imagine I have increase my poison resistance to master level thanks to all of the poisonous insects I have been fighting. The most noteworthy thing I have to say is that I’m not using guns when I fight, if I did then I would be surrounded by insects.
The best thing I can use is a flame thrower or Molotov’s which help with large groups of enemies, if you think about all of this logically then the system doesn’t promote levels but instead skills. Levels will give you boosts to help you grow stronger but your foundation is what skills you can get and will build up from there. In these past few weeks that I have been clearing out the area I have been unlocking numerous skill such as running mastery and others that help in daily life each one of them helps in some aspect and increases my overall strength. The thing I have been working on now is parkour seeing how I don’t want to be trapped in an alley and have no way to escape. As I was climbing up the fire escape there was a huge racket coming from a few miles away, I went up to the fifth stories and place a j107M Dragonfly on the railing.
When I checked what was the disturbance I could see several humanoids fighting one of the vampire spiders and they were being pushed back at the moment. A vampire spider is a variant that I have found around here; they don’t eat their victims but instead drain them of their blood. These spiders usually hide in the dark and use stealth tactics when hunting but thanks to my map ability I can tell where they are hiding. I focused in on the spider that was sneaking up behind the group and fired right between the eyes, the spider fell limp behind the group and the people that weren’t fighting turned to see the spider. I pulled a flashlight from my inventory and started shining it at them, once I knew they saw me I started to pick off the spiders that were around them. They looked confused at first but soon figured it out, they ran towards the building where I was at while I took care of all of the spiders that were following close behind them.
Guardian angel
you protect those close to you and reap the lives of your enemies from above
*Gives a 15% damage increase from above
*Allies are given +10 Vit When under your protection
As I watched the group enter the building below me I took care of the rest of the spiders that were brave enough to approach the building, down the street though was a completely different story. The giant grasshoppers that usually hide in alley’s away from the spiders sight came out to feed on the remains of the dead spiders, after killing several more spiders the wounded and scared spiders crept back into darkness where they belong. Now that’s over let’s get inside and greet our new friends.
