《Galduta》Behold, Death Cometh

Nick's POV
"Never thought I'd be back here again so soon" I got up off the hard floor and rolled my shoulders in an effort to work out the knot forming "I didn't think I'd see you back here so soon either, how did you die this time?" by the tone of his voice I could tell he was very amused, sick bastard. Without looking in his direction I replied "got shot in the head while trying to help out a couple humans" a chuckle escaped him before he replied "you're supposed to be a smart one Fenris" I scoffed at his statement and mumbled "I am smart" another chuckle was his reply followed by a sigh "follow me child" he said as he began walking away.
I followed him silently, his black cane leaving holes in the soft sand every time he took a step as his equally black robe dragged behind him leaving a trail in the golden brown sand. After all these years he still looks the same, long gray beard reaching down to his stomach, his gray hair reached all the way to the middle of his back blowing in the wind and his wrinkled face was still the same, the pure white eyes haven't changed either.
"gonna give me a lecture again?"I asked, he laughed out loud which made the sand jump around and shake with vigor before dying down and in a serious tone he said "I am here to pass on my wisdom child, whether you listen or not is up to you" I sighed at his statement and refrained from speaking any further.
We were walking for what felt like hours until we came upon an ominous looking cabin made of some form of metal it seemed, he stepped aside and gestured for me to enter first "what is it the mortals say? as yes, ladies first" he said with an amiable smile. My lip twitched as I tried to resist the urge to punch him in the face 'Just ignore him, just ignore him, just ignore him' Pushing open the door I was met with the sight of plush chairs, pink wallpaper with magical girl posters and a My Little Pony play set in the corner of the room, I turned back to the old man and offered him a quizzical look, he looked at me in confusion before he himself took a look into the room and immediately his brows furrowed. The old man tried his best to keep his expression neutral but I noticed the minute twitches of his upper lip, inside the room was posters of boy bands I was unfamiliar with, reading out loud a poster with scribble on it "I heart Memphis" while curiously glancing at the old man who had his brows furrowed and was sweating slightly under my scrutiny "excuse me one moment" he said as he calmly walked inside and shut the door behind him. A few minutes passed by before the door opened again "Sorry about that" he smiled weakly "My *ahem* daughter forgot to clean up" stepping through the door I saw the posters removed and in their place were empty gray walls, two black sofas, and a glass coffee table between said sofas. Taking a seat and grabbing a cup of magically summoned coffee, I waited patiently while the old man slowly sat on the sofa. I brought the cup to my lips and savored the taste of the coffee before the old man suddenly asked: "what is it you truly desire young Fenris?" I was caught off guard seeing as he chose to ask me a question instead of rambling on and on like he always does. Regaining my composure I replied to his question "Death" but he seemed unphased by my answer as all he did was take a sip of his drink before replying. "A few centuries ago that might have been the case but I think you don't quite see things the same way anymore, eh 'Nick'?" he said with a knowing smile plastered across his face, I opened my mouth to refute but paused as I realized he was indeed correct. I sighed loudly and leaned back in my seat before I asked "So what do you suggest I do?" for the first time in a very long time I felt alone, lost. I was not even sure the old man could help me but he hadnot let me down so far, "how would I know, kid?" he asked me. Well, I guess there's a first time for everything, seeing my resigned and helpless expression he said "It is not my place to suggest actions you should take nor give you orders but I will ask you this....... what will become of your kin, will they flourish? or will they perish? Their fates lay in your hands" His words made all thoughts momentarily pause as I processed what he was insinuating, I made an entirely new race in my image and even though it sounds a bit arrogant it is the truth and seeing as I am the one who made them that makes me their........Father? I sighed as I gave up any further thoughts of trying to understand what I am to my kin. "It seems you have come to a decision little one" hearing the voice of the old man snapped me out of my thoughts and brought me back to reality....or wherever this was. "It seems our chat is at its end" he pointed his cane at something behind me, I turned around to see the familiar sight of a portal blinking in and out of existence before it stabilized. "Your friends should be arriving soon" the old man said as my eyes remained transfixed on the portal, I paid no attention to the words of my millennium-year-old friend. It was not until I heard a sigh that I recalled where I was "I know you wish for an end to this, Fenris" he sighed and rested his hand on my shoulder, I didn't even sense him move "But Fate has something in mind for you" I felt anger surge throughout my entire being at the mention of 'Fate', I snorted in annoyance before getting up from my seat and throwing the old man's hand off me. "Give her a message for me would you" I said as I strolled towards the portal "Tell the short fuck she can get down off that high horse so she can better kiss my ass. See ya Raven" I turned around to face him and gave a two-fingered salute and took a step back through the portal before my vision went black. -----Third Person POV-----

The leaves crunched under the feet of three individuals as they ran through a forest, the two adults' faces were filled with terror although the source of said terror was not clear. "mom.....can we......rest?" the youngest of the three spoke between gasps, his mother, eager to escape their invisible pursuer remained oblivious to her son's question. "Rebecca!" Jeremy called out his wife's name before coming to a halt, seeing her husband stop she also, though unwillingly, stopped. Staring at her husband, her eyes seemed to be asking the question 'what is it?' Jeremy steadied his breathing before he addressed his wife. "Becca, honey, you just killed a man" Jeremy's voice was grave and low as if he were afraid someone would hear what he had just said, his wife's brows furrowed and in a voice that would freeze a yeti she replied in a heated tone "No! What I killed was a monster who tried to take our son!!" Jeremy was astonished at his wife's guiltlessness, regardless of her intentions the fact remained she had murdered someone in cold blood. "Regardless of what he was Rebecca, the fact remains that you murdered him" Rebecca opened her mouth to reply but the next words she heard made the words stick in her throat. "He's not dead" Damien's soft voice cut through their argument like a hot knife through butter, shaken, Rebecca's pupils dilated in fear as she stuttered "Wh-What did you say, honey?" Damien's eyes were gazing in the direction they had just come from as he replied "He's not dead" his head slowly turned to face his parents "He's coming"

The Grey Realm, an Erebus Story.
Written by: Staugroan and The Inklets. Edited by: Claudia Adams. In the beginning there was a god, who watched over and made one world his own. Soon after the god grew restless, but happened to stumble on a small world filled with life. This world was named Erebus by its peoples; humanity. The god was so fascinated with this new world that he started to copy it back home, creating oceans, forests, deserts, and so forth. Then the god created life and eventually his favored creations who would be immortals and be the better of mankind in every way-the elves. So often the god had traveled to Erebus that the two worlds became linked by magic and their inhabitants could cross at will. Relations between the races flourished, and a great empire was born in the Grey Realm, home of the elves. But the god once again grew restless, and set loose great beasts that stood at the top of any food chain, the apex. At first the elves met the challenge and fought them head on. But mankind was not so lucky, they died in droves to push back even a single apex. Something had to be done. Elves and man worked together to begin sealing off the worlds to protect mankind, to limit the ways in and out to better fight the apex off and keep their fellows safe. The ritual had adverse effects the likes of which neither the elves nor man could predict; the sealing of the worlds started slow, but the magic had never been done before, and in their ignorance it spread to completely cut the two worlds off from one another. It ejected the apex, and other magical being back into the Grey Realm, saving Erebus. At first the elves were content, they would find a way back once the apex were dead and gone. But the seal had done more than keep Erebus locked away. The powersource of the seal was magic itself, from both worlds, and it consumed it all greedily. The elves, weakened without their magic, crumbled into ruin, and the apex were free to hunt the other races of the Grey Realm. Two-thousand years later a strange phenomena is occurring and magic is slowly returning to the Grey Realm, and tears open that allow passage to Erebus. Thu'lain and a few elves must make the journey to fallen kingdom of the elves Anosora, in the hopes of reclaiming what was once theirs. They must face their nemesis the apex, and survive not only the species that have turned against them, but a terrible being left behind by the god to kill even the apex. Uch'l'thein, the faceless terror.
