A swing, and another fell to the ground. Another tries to pounce on her but she simply moves aside and slashes at the quadrupedal monster.
In the middle of this desolate land stood a single girl. Clad in black that is a reminiscent of a military uniform, her lower face covered by a scarf that have a grinning teeth as it's design.
Surrounding this small girl are quadruped creatures, their forms are reminiscent of wolves with a mix of some insects. Four scythe shaped limbs protruding behind their chitinous shells. Eight orbs acts as their eyes, and are paired by four on each side. Their snout a mix of a wolf's jaw and an ant's mandibles.
These creatures are known as the Aftermath. The spawn of Disasters. These particular monsters were a spawn of Diadus, the Swarm Disaster.
They numbered on the hundreds and they were surrounding the lone girl, taking every opportunity from her lapse of judgement.
She chided herself mentally for the untold amount of time from this blunder. She should have take note of where she is going. Now she is fighting the spawns of Diadus in her lonesome.
But she knows that scolding herself is useless. This world is unforgiving for the what ifs. They have to accept what already happened, not lament on it.
Another coordinated strike. A three layered faint, with some going for her blind spots. She planted her foot on the ground and focus her power to herself.
Strength spreads through her body as crimson light covers her figure. Her ash grey hair billowing as her crimson eyes glows, her gaze focus on their forms.
It's been two years since the Worst War. The fight for the fate of the world has been won by the survivors. A lot has died just to have a new tomorrow, their numbers dwindled drastically.

But that is the day when they have been truly free. Where the looming threat of death has been totally vanquished. Every major Disasters were destroyed.
All of it because of a certain idiot who decided to declare war over every Disasters.
It is really weird for her. She participated on that fight just because that idiot called out for help. She didn't know what happened to her after the war. She just drifted off after destroying every Aftermath, and Disasters that approaches her.
There are still some of these Disasters remaining. They are just not prevalent anymore and are in hiding. Just like the one she is fighting now.
These monsters are very fast, easily breaking the sound barrier. But she is a lot more faster, pumping more energy to her core and greatly boosting her capabilities. She slashes through every monsters, throwing occasional bursts of energy and slashes through the landscape with crimson power.
The wolf insect monsters roared, the sound they made are a mix of cicadas on a broken record and the hoarse howl of the wolves.
But she doesn't care. Even if they try to overwhelm her, she will try to survive. Because that is all there is to it.
She haven't massacred her whole race, ran from both the Mad Girl and the Million Witch, destroyed the 57th Facility, and participated on the Worst War just to die in this place.
She will live. At the same time, she will get to her goal.
The desolate land changed. It's appearance looks like multiple nukes has just fallen on it. In the middle of a particularly giant crater, Nahmat stood victorious.
She looks at the unmoving bodies of the Aftermaths, green ichor covering their lifeless bodies. She stretches her arms, her palms open as she gathered the souls and life forces on the surroundings. Their greenish blood slowly turns into red orbs. The whole surroundings became a colorful array of red orbs gathering around on top of her palm, like they are racing to be the first. The orbs compresses and coalesced on top of her palm.

The sight is beautiful if no one thinks about the source of this light show. It's like the stars moving around in a spiral manner, giving a stellar impression on the scenery.
It took awhile before she finally clenches her hand, depleting all the life forces that she can absorb. Then she moves forward without turning back, her journey continues on.
She have a new purpose in her life other than to survive. It's a purpose that she got after becoming a friend of the idiot who started the Worst War.
Anmai. A Chaos Child who is full of optimism. She is the foster child of the Wonder Lady, Lyce, and the foster sister of Chrome the Beast.
She didn't know what really happened to Lyce. She heard she died but there are no proofs. As for Chrome, she have witnessed his dead body along with the three Calamities, the ancient Disasters who have lived since the start of the World's Decline. He died during the dusk of the final war against the world's survival.
Anmai is too optimistic. Despite the many atrocities, betrayal, and gruesome sights that she have experienced, she is still smiling. She has been called as the Hopebringer by Lyce.
Anmai have a goal. A dream that she wanted to achieve.
It is a world full of greenery. Where life can be born, plants will thrive, and anyone can eat to their heart's content. It is a world so detached to their current status that it can be considered as a fantasy.
But the vivid details that she describes it is so wonderful. Her eyes are full of honest optimism and determination as she swears to arrive at this dream. A place that she called as the Paradise.
True. That place sounds like heaven. A place where they can eat a lot, where danger doesn't lurk anywhere anymore, and where they can trust each other without thinking whether they will be betrayed or not.
It is just a dream, a delusion made by that idiot, but it tugs at her heartstrings.
She also wanted to see it. The eden that Anmai wishes to see.
She moves her feet once more, continuing on her travels. A journey to find the dreamlike place known as the Paradise. It is her new purpose in life other than drifting aimlessly and surviving.
She didn't know that her dream will come true soon, as she was engulfed in light and find herself in a different world.
